The Petrova Line of Flydale North is a mammoth, cultured nation, ruled by Josi with a fair hand, and remarkable for its rampant corporate plagiarism, smutty television, and digital currency. The compassionate, democratic population of 7.301 billion Northerners hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The large, liberal, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Education, Administration, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Erid. The average income tax rate is 85.2%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Northerner economy, worth a remarkable 1,051 trillion Astrophages a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is fairly diversified, is dominated by the Information Technology industry, with significant contributions from Tourism, Retail, and Book Publishing. Average income is an impressive 144,040 Astrophages, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Photographers can be found hiding behind the curtains in Josi's bedroom, bemused citizens are encouraged to sing foreign-language hymns of religions they have never heard of, government officials sit helplessly as they are labelled 'Pompous Womples' by celebrities, and preservative manufacturers are told to put a lid on it. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Flydale North's national animal is the Rocky, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is Humanism.

Flydale North is ranked 9,098^th in the world and 371^st in The North Pacific for Most Developed, scoring 91.32 on the Human Development Index.
