By that logic all of the following are loaves, which is clearly ridiculous:
1) any large rectangular cake that is sliced into portions, regardless of whether it is baked in a bread tin.
2) all traybakes (commonly baked in a large rectangular gastronorm tray, and then sliced into portions) - flapjacks for example.
3)all rectangular pizzas, that are baked in quantity and sliced into portions.

I would also point out that cob loaves exist, which are round (Google's dictionary calls a cob loaf a "round loaf of bread", which calls their definition of a loaf as an oblong object into question).

You know, sometimes I really dislike the issues and outcomes in this game. I am trying to create an environmental utopia, so obviously cars are banned! God forbid the soccer mom's protest that they can't drive their lil sh*t heads to soccer practice! So, obviously I pick the outcome that keeps cars banned, and BOOM! It removes my Public Protest policy, tanking my hard work spanning over months trying to restore my civil and political freedoms! 😡 this game frustrates me sometimes.

http://www.mwq.dds.nl/ns/results/ if you want, you can check this site before answering an issue--it will show you the likely outcomes of each option, letting you know when it's best to just dismiss an issue. one helpful tip is that the game tries to get your stats to an average, so if a stat of yours is very high, then any options that have potential to decrease it significantly will be very very likely to do so, meaning that you should discard risky issues

hello everyone :) i know it's been a while since i posted but with nationstates finally being back up after a long pause, i want to encourage our new members siteside to start getting involved with what our region has to offer. (for those who don't know me, i'm iota, one of tcb's most prominent former first ministers & general member of government. i'm currently in a retirement lawnchair but when i have time i poke my head back in to say hi.) as with all regions, things slowed down for us an unfortunate amount during the long outage, so i want to get the wheels turning again!

Requirements

There are two requirements you must meet to gain citizenship:

- Having a nation located in The Communist Bloc

- Owning a World Assembly (WA) nation. The location of your WA nation does not matter.

To submit your citizenship application, you will need to create an account for our forums.

Creating a Forum Account

---

To create your forum account, follow these steps. The process will be demonstrated with screenshots.

1. Navigate to tcb.red and press the register button in the top right.

2. Fill out the registration form. It is highly recommended that you attach your account to an email you use specifically for NationStates purposes to ensure the privacy of your personal information.

3. You will see this message, which means a confirmation email has been sent to the email address you provided in step two. Open that email's inbox, find the confirmation email, and select the "Confirm your email" button. If you do not see a confirmation email, check your spam folder.

4. You will be redirected back to the forums, where you should see a confirmation message.

Congratulations, you've successfully created an account on our forums! If you experience any technical difficulties during the creation process, you can ask for help troubleshooting by joining our official Discord and pinging @Masking.

Submitting an Application

Now that you've created your forum account, it's time to submit your citizenship application! The process is very simple and will once again be demonstrated by screenshots.

1. Go to the Naturalisation Office subforum.

2. Click the button in the righthand corner which says "Post Thread.".

3. The page you will use to submit your citizenship application will appear. First, create your title in the "Citizenship Application: NAME" box. It should be in that format. Secondly, introduce yourself in the main text box below the title.

4. Answer each of the application questions. If you don't have an answer to a question or the question isn't applicable, answer it with "None"

5. Press the "Post Thread" button. You have now submitted your citizenship application!

It will likely take the Ministry of Domestic Affairs approximately 1 to 3 days to process your application. To prevent electoral fraud, applications are not processed during election periods, but will be checked once the election ends.

Once your application is approved, you're officially a citizen of The Communist Bloc!

the process is quick & easy, and becoming a citizen allows you access to our regional discord, where we have opportunities for you to get involved in ministries or become a bigger part of our leftist military, the peoples revolutionary air force. we also have lots of friendly chatter & political discussion--if you enjoy talking on the RMB, you'll probably enjoy getting to socialize more with your regionmates on the discord!

speaking of the PRAF, i'd really like to recruit more members for surge squadron, our section of PRAF that (as the name implies) surges into enemy regions we've captured to prevent opposing forces from stopping our mission. (it also sometimes helps allied regions with a delegate transfer or protection of their region!) Surge Squadron is the reserve force of the People's Revolutionary Air Force, and mainly focuses on deploying to foreign regions on a more long-term notice. Be it supplying aid to allies or helping crush the enemy, the reserves are deceptively simple for the amount of power they wield. Rebel Squadron (the active wing) may seize territory, but Surge Squadron holds territory. Both are essential in their own way. Surge Squadron is led by the Base Commander (currently New Astri), who is responsible for managing and deploying the reserves. If you can't make the times specified in Rebel Squadron, or just want to more passively support the Bloc's military efforts, Surge is the Squadron for you. If you're looking for more active participation, however, read up on signing up to the Active Wing here! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀➤ What does Surge Squadron do? When ordered by the Air Marshal or Base Commander, you will move into a region with your military nation, and endorse all of the officers you're instructed to, and nobody else. That's it -- what this does is steadily and increasingly strengthens the nations you're charged with endorsing, either supporting a friendly region or helping in the Bloc's offensives against an enemy region. It's exceptionally easy and doesn't take any more than five minutes when ordered, and afterwards you can return your World Assembly nation to the Bloc. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀➤ How do I join up? Very simple! You don't even need to be a citizen to do it: Create a military 'puppet' nation (simply create another nation -- try include something like 'Air Force' or 'Squadron' in the name), which can be used for operations while your main nation stays in TCB. Telegram Base Commander New Astri with the following information: Bloc Main Nation: Military Nation: Prior military experience (if any): Wait for a response! If it's accepted, feel free to move your military puppet into Red Front. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀➤ What if I want to change Squadrons? You can do that too. Just contact Squadron Headquarters via telegrams or discord and we'd be willing to discuss citizenship and military obligations.

During the opening hours of this morning(May 11 here) the great Bangladeshi intellectual and veteran communist Haider Akbar Khan Rono passed away in his hospital bed aged 81. He was one of the most important figures in the Bangladeshi Marxist movement and all through his life fought for a socialist society. During his final years he had become depressed, knowing that he would not get to see the future that he and his comrades had fought so hard for, wondering where they had blundered, where it had all gone wrong. But his struggle and hopes live on among international marxist movement.
