I really need to consider creating a much better flag for this and the three other cardinal regions. They were created on the fly, and not much thought was placed upon them.
As for the WFE, really not much can be said for a region name that has no actual real place that it is named after.
Columbia is the name of the area that is now Washington, and at one time a much wider territory that was disputed by the British and United States of America.
North Columbia is an alternate name for British Columbia with Washington State being West Columbia or simply Columbia, Eastern Washington State and Northern Idaho and Western Montana to the Continental Divide would be East Columbia and Oregon would then be South Columbia, or so the thought was, but the name Oregon was already well recognized.
North Caledonia is the Northern portion of British Columbia as it would be separated from North Columbia and the separate territory of Vancounver Island and it's dependancy Queen Charlotte Islands.
That was the story behind the alternate reality that gave these names.
