It looks as though three SEC Teams still have a chance to reach the National Championship playoffs: Alabama, Texas A&M, and Florida. Not as good as in past years, but 2020 has been an unusual year.

Big10 atheltics

Cincinnati will make it. TAMU will lose again and Florida will get screwed in the championship. Clemson is a 50/50.

Big10 atheltics

What do you guys think of Indiana? Deserving of the 12 spot?

I think TAMU may be better than you think. Florida has no chance after the loss to LSU, but they can still ruin the season for Alabama with an upset in the SEC Championship game. As for Clemson, all they need to do is extract significant revenge against Notre Dame.

Arkansas Riceland wrote:What do you guys think of Indiana? Deserving of the 12 spot?

Probably—I think they should go to a Bowl, but the National Championship selection committee has a love affair with tOSU.

Welcome! We are always happy to have visitors post on our RMB!

Coaching Note:
The Auburn Tigers have fired football coach Gus Malzahn after a disappointing 6-4 season. This now frees Malzahn to do like former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville and run for the US Senate from Alabama...

Yeah, but with TAMU not making the conference championship, is there really a deserving spot for them? I do know that the committee would love to take random teams over a one-loss Notre Dame, but Clemson would be out if they lost again. What about tOSU? In my opinion, the B10 just wants tOSU to go into the championship because they want to succeed at something that isn't losing to Clemson in the first round. Personally, I believe it should be Indiana v. Northwestern, which is way more entertaining in my opinion, and then give the winner an automatic berth. If Northwestern succeeds to beat tOSU, let them in,or let Cincinnati in. There's no way a Ohio State team that played LESS THAN 6 GAMES should be let in. If all these scenarios play out,the ideal playoffs would be

1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Cincinnati/TAMU
4. Northwestern/Indiana

Imagine Bama winning a title while both of the senators from their state are Auburn coaches.

Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
ever faithful to your promises and ever close to your Church:
the earth rejoices in hope of the Savior's coming
and looks forward with longing to His return at the end of time.
Prepare our hearts and remove the sadness
that hinders us from feeling the joy and hope which His presence will bestow,
for He is Lord for ever and ever.
Amen.

@CrimsonScribbles Amen! God Bless You!

Also, to the Alabama and Florida football fans:
Congratulations on great seasons and on a thrilling Championship Game!

Ask the "Cesspool of the South", they were in one the last three years in a row before this year.

The Yellow Jackets actually won a few back in their SEC Days. You should google them.

Looks as though the Committee agrees with your top four! However, with the loss of Alabama’s starting center, their offense is sure to suffer. Be nice if they only had to play six games to avoid that injury...

I’m not familiar with that team. Do you mean LSU?

GT fans in their song "To Hell with Georgia" refer to UGA as the "cesspool of the South"

I know they did. We haven't won since '09.

I would not recommend using the Yellow Jackets as your role model.

Georgia tech wrote:I know they did. We haven't won since '09.

Well, after Tech left the SEC it took a long time to find a replacement university with similar academic strength and overall tradition, but now Texas A&M is in the SEC, so Georgia Tech's absence no longer hurts.

Really Big Bama Fan wrote:I would not recommend using the Yellow Jackets as your role model.

Jackets aren't my role model, Jerry Jones is my role model.

I was just responding to GT's question.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

Only difference is that they win games.

When Georgia Tech left the SEC it was said that they would become the Notre Dame of the South. Instead the program went into decline. It is very ironic that they ended up in the same conference with Notre Dame!
