I'm really just trying to get the vibe that the Empire is just massive, huge, and immensely bloated beyond any trace of efficiency.
Necromancy is a “mystery” the form of it I’ll be using is more akin to iron manipulation. I thought about it last night.
Majik revolves around the iron in the body, most present in blood, and can be used to as aforementioned or a highly trained user can heat these particles turning them ionic, though at heavy self-inflicted damaged. Higher boom=Quicker doom.
As for arguments, they’ll be a mark of luxury with the best ones used by the military. It’s here Goodmen will make their name, as their also focus on the aesthetic, making the argument appear and function and spirit to original.
This philosophy doesn’t just apply to humans, they’ll argument wildlife too.
One idea I have is augmenting a horse, taking off its legs and replacing them with hardened plastic, encased in bronze. Parts of their innards will be removed and converted to a literal bio-engine.
Hopes will be to make a horse as fast if not faster than a literal racecar while keeping the natural agility and grace of the animal.
I’m going to use augments a lot just cause I thought of a lot both for physical and mental ones. With self-destructive magic too I hope to be a chaotic force.
Ah that'll be interesting to see.
I'm thinking of a group that aims to keep technology "Pure", as in only a tool for humanity's progression and nothing more. Keep it separated from magic to retain it's purity, being sourced from humanity's rational mind. Prizing humanity's logical mind and enforcing that behavior to ensure that the more impulsive side of emotions do not get in the way of precision thought and actions. Magic, whatever it might be, will be heavily opposed since it's seen as an extension of the emotional, irrational side of man. Something like Mandalorians in a way with the collective philosophy, as well as several groups within that have different abilities based on the tech they use. Things like full body armor and weapon focused augments would be pretty common for the individual to have, though overall numbers would be comparatively low to make up for the potential power of this group. Very militarized/martial, however as long as you're not actively provoking them you'll be fine, outside of doing some weird magic business. Could see them being good as guns for hire for other groups initially, before the whole invasion might happen.
I'll definitely be thinking more on this, but I have something basic set up for now.
Given the influences Ima go with something Afro-Oriental, and have a large part of my history under the service of the “Old” Empire. A early conglomerate of various enemies of the enemy to the Imperia or auxilia.
What's the geography we're working with looking like?
I'll probably base the name of my guys on the environment of where they are chose to originate from. For history I envision that it could reach towards the musket era in the rationalist, anti magic approach if not earlier. Which would offer a lot of time for interactions with other groups, shall someone want to have a pre-established history.
I'm taking main government influences from the aforementioned sources, but the Empire is going to be a total cultural hodgepodge because it's so huge.
I’m gonna use both my factions to start a way to building a small force, use the theme to bring back the Knights. I’ve been thinking on them back in the OG timeline, and I have a few ideas to update them and the kreed.
Fair enough. Hope they do, I think this can turn up to be pretty interesting.
