I'm going to post a reply either tonight or tomorrow. Just lazy and I'm figuring out my little solo RP with the genetically engineered sea monster.

The four personal guards scanned the leader of the Ileeni subtly with their digital scanners hidden within their mechanical body. Watching Reikecheek with calm but ever presence gaze, they boarded the helicopter after him and Alice. Standing up, clamping themselves down with magnetic boots, the guards barely swayed to the small vibrations of the floor as the helicopter's main rotary systems reengaged themselves slowly.

Seating herself comfortably on her private seat, Alice observed the reactions of Reikecheek with a faint interest. How would a sea-based creature react to being in an aircraft? Calmness it would seem, but there is often something hidden within the masks people wear.

"Mind if we take a spin in the air for a bit?" Asking out of the blue, Alice displayed a diplomatic smile, "have you ever flown before?"

It was a morbid curiosity by the fine scientists to discover what they could create with what Alseheia knew. Well, they created something that was an abomination to the natural order. Well... that was the first sea monster they created... which managed to escape. They're smart, but did they really think some flimsy gate, with opened gaps, will keep a multi-ton beast at bay? Well it didn't!

Anyways, they created a new one. A lot smaller than the first one I'll tell you that much. It's a lot more adorable too I think. It's also smart and aware of its surroundings. I don't approve of the chip they installed within the grey matter of the creature to enhance its intellect. That thing is far too cunning for my liking and the security A.I. around here agree. It's going to escape and I know it... unless the scientists can entertain it.

I was just wondering why the census never covered it. I assumed it would be labeled GDP. I think if anything I may over produce things.

You very well may. Though I think if we move forward with the Delta Union we can all decompress a little and maybe start shipping things to the Eastern Confederation.

The Doctor and the Beast

Sentient... sapient... analyzing... mental complexity... neural connections... Belua... confirming... advanced neural networks...

Dr. Moris had a faint idea of the creature that they created, to the protest of the site's main A.I. The amount of genetic engineering they performed was staggering and was a feat of itself. Placing his hand upon the glass panel he peered into the murky waters and watched as a lazy figure swam towards him. There was a feeling of dread and terror of the gigantic nature of the beast. The sheer size and malevolence that the beast carried was impossible to match compared to most or any natural oceanic carnivores.

Tentatively, Dr. Moris reached his right hand forward and pressed it against the cold glass. Belua, the beast, returned the gesture with one of its forearms. It was like an ant reaching a leg forward, to match that of a human's gigantic hand. The shortest of Belua's claws were many times his size and it humbled the old doctor. Years of research led to this single still moment between a creator and his creation.

The intelligent eyes of the beast traced the form of Dr. Moris before it mimicked a human smile. Was it a sign of friendliness? Dr. Moris could only hope so, but the alien mind that he created was far different than a human. What was it really thinking within its mind several times larger than a human? What of its unique senses?

It wasn't long before Belua swam away, leaving the old doctor to ponder his encounter.

Yea, I think potentially of the "big" 5 nation's I might be the one most prone to a recession. I produce roughly 22K less then a combined KU. It's one of the reasons I hope the Delta Union goes through.

Maybe Central Agreement on Trade or CAT for short? It's mostly for nation's around us. I would hopefully like to promote more "regional" trade agreements in RP. Hopefully to get people to take land near another PC nation to rp with.
I could see Saratoga as a head of a great northern agreement on trade. It would give people more to play off diplomatic wise. Would Saratoga favor a trade organization that he may be the dominate economic power or the KU were he may get indirect access to ath and I as a market for free trade.
It would give newer nation's a reason to get territory between two big nation's. I would like to see a country between Moarfall and me. I could see us building some sort of rail lines between all 3 countries. Maybe some sort of freight only bullet trains.

There were rapid successions of heavy footsteps as several military drones made their way down a cramped cold hallway. Their flashing red visors provided a psychological impact in their form, declaring their intent for the observer. Grasping the slim rifles, the soldiers were designed and equipped for close quarters. As they paced through the empty hallways, their relatively warm robotic frames heated the cool air around them. The temperature is already at a point the average human would suffer from the coldness in short order.

The door roughly two-hundred meters behind them was shut tight, sealing air and themselves in. Roughly a meter thick, there isn't much besides heavy explosives that could make a path. That was the intention--to keep whatever escaped inside the confines of the locked down section, away from other secured sectors.

There was something approaching at a rapid pace. A dark figure at the end of the hallway. It didn't take much for the drones to lift up their weapons and begin opening fire. Fierce streaks of light piercing through the dark.

"Well," Alice scratched her cheek as she gave off a small shrug, "I'm no scientist, but it's likely due to the fact this 'pod' you speak of isn't really a creature or anything that should emit chemicals. Well... aside from the fluids used to keep it working. Since you can't really see, what you are feeling should be normal..." giving a glance at one of the security guards, she continued, "it also means you probably haven't flown before. Is that correct?"

By now, the helicopter achieved enough power to begin a hovering motion. Roughly a meter from the ground, the hum of the engines could be heard roughly a hundred meters around it, but the interior was silent. The only noise that existed within the helicopter was the soft breeze from the many air vents.

"And uh, since you are dependent on scent and... sonar," Alice shifted her leg a bit as she felt the helicopter move in a gentle circular pattern, "it's probably normal for you to feel this way while airborne."

One of the security drones made a single gesture, in the sight of Alice. It was the basic sign for diplomacy. Alseheia wished for the talks to continue.

The suited figure shuffles for a second. " this suit is tiresome. will you excuse me for a second?" You watch in fascination as he places a small orb on the ground then presess a button. the button flashes once or twice before seeming to flatten out. it flattens into a small rectangle that he steps onto. as soon as he does the rectangle sends up a series of glassy walls that tip into a point. Inside the figure watches placidly and you hear a loud hissing sound as it seems to pressurize the glass. Tendrils of frozen gases frosts over the view, obscuring your view into an icy wall. As it clears, the suited figure is gone. instead of it lies a tall amphibious creature, with two strong looking arms and a thin waist with small sharp looking spines growing along the back. The eyeless fanged creature looks at you seemingly at ease. The translation box lies outside suddenly crackles as it opens its massive jaws.

" much better, " it growls. " This is a technology we found, an HAS. Hostile atmospheric suit. Useful no? It can also move on its own. " He looks around. " Fascinating" he mutters. He reaches out and touches the glass, you see a small series of pits along his face open up and show dark flesh that close and open as if nodding. He repeats this several times before turning to Watching apprehensive landwellers. " It would seem both of us have our own surprises in store, " he chuckles seeming to understand your reaction to the orb.

A single glowing digital screen shaped as a perfect circle pierced the darkness surrounding it, illuminating the front of its holy room. Occasional streams of data would flare the intensity of the screen, but it mostly stayed constant. It was as if there was nothing weird about the situation until the light disappeared, fading near instantly. The warm blankets of the shadows covering up where the screen shined.

Situation critical... facility compromised... directing citizens to evacuation sites... military units called in... danger... danger... holding cell...

Angry streaks of light rushed down large hallways and rooms as security drones contained a stream of fire. There was a sense of urgency with the action of the machines with their quick and hurried actions. Wherever they hit the marks, angry scorch marks and holes would dot the alien creatures. Whenever they didn't hit their mark, it would often burn holes or leave red scorch marks upon the surfaces of the walls and tables.

The security drones advanced with precision in their hurried state, marching past broken drones and corpses. Most threats they encountered were dealt easily, allowing them to focus on rescuing stranded citizens trapped in by their own creations or intrusions of the outsiders. The facility had gone into a rapid lock-down mode with blast doors closing down to prevent any unwanted escape. Temperature was also on the drop as the many air-conditioning units were forced into the negative degrees.

A single drone dragged the injured body of a scientist along the hallway, its compatriots giving covering fire. The bloody lines left by the open wounds of the scientist continued to attract carnivorous beasts and thus made the extraction difficult. Yet, despite the near-hopelessness of the recovery, increasingly more drones were sent in to safeguard the near-death scientist. Ten drones were in front of the man, never letting go of their trigger. There were four on each side, scanning for any creatures coming in from side hallways. There were another eight advancing down their path of retreat.

In the middle of this chaos, few realized the unattended open gates leading to the great sea.

A Man and His Bird

"Chipper... hows the situation?" A single man whispered, leaning against the ever-cold synthetic wall and with his arms wrapped against his body. It had been several minutes since he managed to hide himself in the abandoned office room. At first it was ambient, yet the temperature grew ever so colder. Probably a drop of ten to twenty degrees off from when it was around seventy. It was clear to the man that the cooling of the air was an intentional move.

There was a soft beep to the right of the man as a small bird-shaped drone rested itself on top of one of the table counters. The soft twitching of the head mimicked the actions of a bird and soon Chipper focused on the man. With a cock of the head, Chipper replied, "Dr. Yeinsk. The average temperature is 13°C with an average drop of 0.25°C per every minute. Estimate time till freezing point: 52 minutes. Estimated temperature of outside corridors: 11°C. Dr. Yeinsk, it is advisable that we leave for warmer locations within ten minutes."

"Seiza," Dr. Yeinsk cursed as he took a single step upwards and petted Chipper's head with a soft stroke. It appeared as if the drone reacted to the sensation, giving off a small chirp. Walking towards the only door in the room, Dr. Yeinsk brushed against the side before sighing, "Chipper you damn know we can't run off right around now. Eiskaing monsters! The creatures we made... they're everywhere. Leoria... they ripped her and..."

"Dr. Yeinsk. The security A.I. have informed me that they are attempting to reach you. Estimated time is around eight minutes, two minutes above safety threshold. Dr. Yeinsk, it is advisable that you sit down and wait. Security footage have shown monsters located in the local area. Dr. Yeinsk, our average chance of survival with drastic action is 18.9%," Chipper stated with another cock of its head, its vocal tone shifting to a more comforting and feminine tone, "Dr. Yeinsk. Military units have arrived in the facility. Estimated time till rescue: six minutes."

"Can they turn on the heater?" The weary doctor gave a single request.

Chipper only stared at him before replying, "The creatures will detect the heat. Dr. Yeinsk please block the door."

Analyzing data.. knowledge of artificial creature detected... comparing risks and benefits... forwarding information... proceed...

The security drone furthest away from Alice gave a small sign with its mechanical hands. The Alseheian government approves.

Well, that certainly makes things easier for Alice to handle, especially with the clear signal that the Alseheian state wouldn't be after her behind. Just give the alien sharks food and aid and in return, they give them good stuff. What they meant by experiments, that is unclear to Alice, but surely the state would know. She is, after all, just an diplomat. Maybe... it was about that sea monster that appeared not too long ago?

"The Alseheian government agrees with your term," Alice replied warmly, "the terms have been found acceptable and Alseheia will provide her best in aiding your people. Perhaps we can discuss, to begin with, exactly how much food and aid you require? How many people are we expected to provide and what aid exactly? Medical? And what technologies you wish for?"

Hidden in the Depths

It was free and it felt wonderful. The openness of its new home stretched beyond its senses and warmed the heart. What shall it do next?

The large artificial monstrosity pondered to itself as it gave lazy but powerful strokes, propelling it through the waters. Occasionally, it would grind down upon its own teethes, tearing away at snagged pieces of flesh and organs. The plethora of creatures that were gifted to it by its creators were wonderful.

Hey guys, I just wanted to take a minute to talk about the RP we've had going on in the region.

I love how much we've grown and how excited everyone has been to RP and be involved with the story and world we're building. However, I've noticed that a lot (most) of the RP in the region has been done on the RMB (Regional Message Board). I can't begin to describe how happy and proud I am that many members of the region are involved and dedicated, but only posting RPs to the RMB maybe isn't the best idea. For example, I know myself, Ath, Saratoga, and Ned are incredibly busy IRL; and I myself can't always sit and read 2-3 multi-paragraph RPs daily. I want to keep updated on everyone's goings on and be able to read every word that contributes to our story, and I'm finding it exceedingly difficult to find and read theses stories when I only have 1 or 2 days a week to sit down and interact on NS.

Not only do we have the Delta Episdoe forum post that I've seen everyone post to, but we also have the discord #roleplay_general channel to post our RPs to. I may be mistaken, but I believe originally we made #roleplay_general to act as a place to post RP that was too fast or required too much back and forth so that the Delta Episode wasn't filled with 5-6 liners for pages at a time as members interact. In discord, it's quite easy to search for and find these RPs, especially if you title them at the start of your post, whereas the RMb it is a pain to search through and go back an extended period of time.

I'd ask that you guys please refrain from only posting RPs to the RMB. While it's 100% okay if they're also posted there, they become buried and lost quite quickly if they're not posted to #roleplay_general or the Delta Episode. I've talked with Ned a bit and we may move the #roleplay_general to In-Character only, and while I don't make rules here in the region or have any official oversight, I know some other NCON vets agree and it stands a chance at becoming a rule in the future if it continues to be an issue. The only reason I use the word issue is that we have what people consider to be cannon true RPs being posted in places that can't be retrieved or found easily and in non-RP areas, which will inevitably lead to issues down the road as people don't know or aren't aware of what has happened.

Thank you for taking the time to consider,

Moarfall

PS: Should I do a Too Long Didn't Read in the future?

Nedea, 46566, Alseheia, and Vienetas
