The compassionate, hard-working population of 9.86 billion Aviaceans enjoy extensive civil freedoms, particularly in social issues, while business tends to be more regulated.

The relatively small, corrupt, liberal government juggles the competing demands of Administration, Education, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Novo-Palas. The average income tax rate is 26.9%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Aviacean economy, worth a remarkable 1,739 trillion Avas a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. Crime is totally unknown. Aviace's national animal is the Eastern Dragon, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution.
