We don't have political parties in TLA, though we used to. Each candidate is elected on their own merits. Please don't hesitate to consult our handy FAQ as well as our Constitution for an idea of how it works, and ask any question if you need clarification. Welcome to the region:)

really quick reminder, and I know this annoys some people, but if y'all are having problems with getting on the discord please let me know and I can help.

If it really annoys some people, maybe we should try and find a way to put this message into an attachment on the WFE? It doesn't bother me, but it's less work for you as well that way? Let me know if you want it done:)

I already asked if that was possible, we went with putting one in the #a-llo-hu. But it helps to make these posts anyways, because some people don't read everything, forget, or are too scared to ask for help, and these help all of those folk.

Cool. No problem, just wasn't sure if had been considered. Carry on:)

Whether it’s the Fourth of July, New Year’s Eve, or any other raucous celebration, for animals, fireworks are terrifying—and could be fatal. Many dogs and cats flee in fear from their deafening blasts. Animals become confused and panicked, and shelters see a spike in the number of admissions after fireworks displays.

Simply keeping animals indoors may not be enough.

Frightened animals may flee their homes trying to escape the startling and confusing blasts. It’s not uncommon for dogs to break through windows and screen doors or dig under fences in a panic. Prepare your home and animal companions before the event:

• Distract your cats and dogs by giving them lots of love and attention.

• Play some soothing background music or turn on the TV.

• Close the curtains or blinds.

• Make sure that all your animals are wearing collars with current identification tags and that they’re microchipped.

The most important thing for scared animals is to have their guardians close by.

SUPREME COURT - LR#2

We conducted another, smaller legal review. I think perhaps it might be useful to start referring to them as LR#[NUMBER], so that's that. This was not prompted by anything in particular, just something I came across that I felt it would be good to expel any vagueness from.

The matter considered was whether voting of the General Assembly must be conducted in a public space or if it can be done privately and later released publicly, the second of which is the current practice.

The law in consideration was the Legislature Conduct Act, which states, "All General Assembly votes on legislation shall be viewable to the public".

All three Justices agreed that the current practice was legal and adhered to the legislation. Thus, votes can continue to be cast in the private GA server and released collectively on the RMB following its conclusion, including how each member voted.
