SOUTHERN AFRICA TENSIONS

Tensions in Southern Africa has risen significantly as the Amangkuratan Government gives Political Asylum Status to the former Luanda government and started "preparing support" for the Namibian government to supposedly "counter growing foreign expansion in Southern Africa".

The Oceanic Union Ministry of Defense, which represents the wider Oceanic Union on these issues, has given multiple responses to the growing tensions.

OVERALL DIPLOMATIC CONDEMNATION

The Oceanic Union Ministry of Defense has given a full Diplomatic Condemnation on the Political Asylum and Support of Namibia.

In the condemnation, they stated that the Amangkuratan government was cooperating with an "Illegitimate Authority of Angola" which would destabilize the whole region and has demanded that the former Luanda government either be returned to the Oceanic Union for proper prosecution (If Required) and proper monitoring to ensure that they do not destabilize the Oceanic Union. However, the government has stated that former Luanda government officials that were not prosecuted would be able to live their own lives with a nice AUD 95,000 stipend per year albeit with monitoring. The Oceanic Union has also Heavily Opposed the support of Namibia by the Amangkuratan government and has furthermore Heavily Encouraged the Namibian government to seek diplomatic relations with the Oceanic Union instead of Amangkuratan.

ACTION REGARDING POLITICAL ASYLUM STATUS GIVEN TO FORMER LUANDA GOVERNMENT

The Oceanic Union has said that it would not "Stand Still" while the Amangkuratan government gives Political Asylum to potential destabilizers of Angola. It has also stated that the nation expects Amangkuratan to return the former Luanda Government immediately for face "appropriate action".

It has deployed 17 new Naval Ships from the Oceanic Union mainland which are also carrying an additional 8500 Armed Forces Soldiers along with sailors and weaponry and supplies. Meanwhile, 34 planes have begun deploying military support and paratroopers nonstop with the military support ranging from tanks, ammunition, weaponry and other supplies. An additional 12 Fighter Jets have been stationed in Angola as construction of the Nelson Naval Base in Luanda is expedited even faster. Meanwhile, combat engineers have also descended from 5 requisitioned commercial and cargo aircraft.

The Oceanic Union Ministry of Defense has also announced that a new Angola Defense Corps will be formed under the command of Oceanic-Angola Administrator and Vice Admiral Joesph Nelson together with Angolan Regional Administration. The Angola Defense Corps is intended to allow for regular Angolan citizens that are conscripted into the Oceanic Union military to defend Angola. As of current, the Angola Defense Corps only have seized weaponry from the former Angolan military together with some Oceanic Union equipment but that is intended to change as more equipment arrives from the Oceanic Union.

These new personnel together with the Angola Defense Corps have been seen increasing border security on Angola's Southern border which is with Namibia.

ACTION REGARDING THE NAMIBIA SITUATION

The Oceanic Union MoD has also given a statement regarding the Namibia situation which states that the Oceanic Union heavily encourages Namibia to ally with them and has already prepared a diplomatic delegation if Namibia agrees.

Furthermore, the Oceanic Union has said that a Amangkuratan occupation of specific Namibian territories was a threat to National Security and should be regarded as such. It has also told the Namibian government that an Amangkuratan military force operating in Namibia would lead to Amangkuratan using it as leverage in potential diplomatic fallouts and dutifully recommended that the Namibian government work with the Oceanic Union for its security.

Closing Remarks

The Oceanic Union has stated that the only foreseeable way that tensions subside is if Amangkuratan returns the former Luanda government and stops attempting to mess in Namibian affairs, saying that the Oceanic Union may consider the possibility of Namibia becoming a buffer state instead of a place of diplomatic interest. However, until the Amangkuratan government accepts these proposals, the Oceanic Union will continue its diplomatic outreach to Namibia combined with increased defense.

Chief Governor of Angola Paulo Silva has also issued a statement that the Oceanic Union would most likely not attack Amangkuratan first unless tensions escalate at a rapid pace.
