No, my brain is full and wish to be excused.

The least they could do was to find appropriate accomodation for you.

Thankfully I managed to find another flight, though I went homeless for a day. I suspect the ongoing snowstorm was why my flight got cancelled.

That's very likely.

Also, I should be asleep by now, it's like 1:30 am in Singapore.

I'm having lunch in Chicago.

I would like to make the people of your esteemed region a proposal on behalf of the Union of Allied States.

I see that your Founder has unfortunately met his demise. However, we would like to safeguard you from raids by establishing a protectorate over your region with the appointment of a UAS Resident Minister. Otherwise, we would like your region to merge into our own. The terms of merger are very agreeable. For one thing, you get to become full citizens right off the bat. Besides, it doesn't look like this place has that much activity anyway.

The free mutant republic of genosha wrote:Besides, it doesn't look like this place has that much activity anyway.

Ouch.

But anyway, jokes aside, I like it to stay the way it is for now.

While we may not always be active, it's a nice, quiet region to chill out in and to represent Singapore. I value our independence right now.

Of course that is simply my opinion; I have no idea what my fellow regionmates think about this proposal. If they agree to this arrangement, I will wholeheartedly support it.

For now though, much has to be discussed before we can come up with an adequate response to this suggestion.

The free mutant republic of genosha, having survived numerous incursions here, I am quite happy to remain in Singapore. While our activity levels may appear to be low, I can assure you that they ebb and flow with our IRL's.

I appreciate your responses. Just let me know when your region has formulated an unequivocal response to my request.

For your information, you can see our Protectorate Policy Bill currently being voted on in UAS Government Board. It's pretty unintrusive and conciliatory, in my opinion.

USA's decision was completely unnecessary.

Not only was it technically insulting to the other Abrahamic religions, by claiming that the entire city was under Israel's jurisdiction, but it also reduced USA's bargaining power and role as a negotiator in the region.

The middle east is a diverse region made up of various races and religions, so any attempt to enforce this rule will ultimately generate unneeded disharmony and fuel even more violence.

I fully support the two-state solution. Israel and Palestine should exist alongside one another. No peace can be achieved without proper diplomatic recognition and engagement.

Of course, this isn't to say that the Palestinian regime isn't at fault. They regularly target Israeli civilian areas with rockets, and agitate for extremist violence. Progress can only be achieved through the toppling of the radical elements within their ranks, and proper public education for their people.

This is easier said than done. The War on Terror and the subsequent intervention of the USA in the middle east failed to resolve tensions, and even led to a new wave of radicalism rising once more. The undying support of the arab spring and the betrayal of their former allies also made the USA many enemies. Some compare the performance in the middle east to that of the Vietnam war, in terms of its strategic failure and unclear goals.

Ultimately, regimes in the middle east that are forcibly overthrown only result in the aiding of terrorist recruitment and distrust of the USA. In order to truly bring this violent chapter of human history to a close, the USA must cooperate with all players and stakeholders in the region and help them come to a compromise.

You know, by acting as an impartial negotiator of sorts.

Something that Trump has done the complete opposite of by completely siding with Israel.

Disclaimer: I actually support Israel.
I am also a freethinker.

If our idiot president doesn't start a nuclear war before he gets out of office, I'd be very much surprised. He's already screwed us with the abolishment of net neutrality and the middle class will be paying more taxes with his "tax relief".

Hi Singapore,

There are only five more days to submit your photos in this year's Forest Photo Contest! We'd love to see your photos if you haven't already submitted! :)

As a reminder, here's the information about the Contest:

.

Forest Photo Contest 2017

.

Yes, it's that time of year (and a little bit more)! Whether you're still eating leftover turkey or just looking forward to being done with 2017 already, the third annual Forest Photo Contest is back to spice up the last month of the year!

Here's what you need to know:

🌲 This year we have more categories than ever before! Our four categories will be:

  • Trees (this category is permanent each year)

  • Weather

  • Sunrise / Sunset

  • Flowers in the Concrete - Nature in Unexpected Places

🌲 You may submit up to 12 photos total. You may choose how to divide those among the different categories, but please do not submit more than 12.

🌲 Please post your photos in the appropriate thread on our forums, located Linkhere.

🌲 The photos must be taken by you.

🌲 Anyone in Forest or in a region which has an embassy with Forest may submit photographs for the Contest.

🌲 Timing:

  • Submissions will be open from November 26th at 23:59 GMT (7pm EST) to December 23rd at 23:59 GMT.

  • Voting will begin on December 24th at 23:59 GMT and end December 31st at 23:59 GMT, so that we will select the winners in the first minutes of 2018!

🌲 Due to the larger numbers this year and the restraints of forum polls, voting will take place on a Google Form. Needless to say, please no puppeteering!

🌲 The photographers with the top three photographs in each category will have their photos acknowledged on our RMB and in our regional newspaper, the Forest News Leaf. A banner will also be created with a collage of the top photos to applaud the winners, and participants in the competition will be encouraged to add it as their nation's custom banner. Forest's flag will also be changed to the 1st place photos in each category for a week after the Contest.

Now it's time to head out and start photographing!

Good luck to everyone!

A note on the forums: Forest's longtime forum host, InvisionFree, is currently closing and transferring all their forums to Tapatalk. Forest's forum was unfortunately transferred early and so we'll be operating on this platform until we can resolve the problem and hopefully move to Zetaboards or a similar, more familiar and customisable software. Apologies to everyone for any features which may be inaccessible while we're temporarily on Tapatalk.

To submit, you can either post on the forum, here:

https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/nationstatesforest/open-forum-f4/

(if you do, please upload your photo to a site like Imgur and then post just the link without any tags on the forum - otherwise we can't see it), or you can simply telegram me with links to your uploaded photos!

You don't have to be a professional photographer or anything to take part - the more, the merrier!

Yeah. Most of my nations have only one to two short paragraphs forming their backstories.

My personal opinion is that's not a good idea and could undermine your Region.

I know, but the region is in a dying situation due to a Court Case that happen in our region and a personal matter (Hurricane Maria in my home country) has caused that the participation go to all time low in the region
