Dr. Hyacinth Aciditéi will be finishing her Term next week as Wysteria General Consul in Texas.

Dr. Aciditéi, was called home after 1 year & 2 months due to unknown reasons.

One Theory was in the form of a lucrative opportunity she was recently offered by Herzil Bureau of Foreign Affairs.

Another Theory suggested it was due to her Paranoia she started developing several months ago after two silver forks went missing.

Whatever the reason might be, The General Consulate in The City of Kyle in Gig em Aggies will not be left empty.

Dr. Aciditéi will be replaced by Wysteria General Consul Commerce attaché Adrian Bouwer who will be officially Appointed as The General Consul after one month cooling period.

Good grief, looks like the WA resolution might pass. Anyone wanna' take bets on whether the next resolution will be a repeal or not?

***** Texas Saturday Breakfast *****

Nom-Nom-Nom! It is Saturday Breakfast! Just because, it is Chocolate-Covered Doughnut Bonanza Saturday! And do we have the chocolate! We have sent agents around The World in search of the ultimate chocolate and we have chocolate from everywhere just for our Chocolate-Covered Doughnut Bonanza. We have Lindt from Switzerland, Ghirardelli from San Francisco, Guylian from Belgium, Perugina from Italy, Richart from France, Neuhaus from Belgium, Chuao from Venezuela, Nestlé from Switzerland, Godiva from Belgium, Valrhona from France and Hershey's from, well, Hershey. We have whipped up an awesome chocolate glaze from each of these fine chocolatiers and topped our world-famous glazed doughnut with them. Our doughnuts are made from yeast and flour, allowed to rise and are a deep-fried in our finest blend of palm and canola oils. They are never oily; trust us! If you want to go gonzo, we have some add-ons for your chocolaty treats - first and foremost is bacon, yes, super-crispy genuine hickory-smoked Texas Bacon crumbled on top of your donut of desire! Additionally, we have gray salt imported directly from France and lightly sprinkled over your chocolate yum-yum. We have even more toppings including super-mini marshmallows for the S'More experience, raisins, toasted coconut flakes, dried cherries and even whipped cream! Don't forget the perennial favorite - sprinkles! Woo! It doesn't get much better than this peeps! Come on down and get you some! No Juice Bar today; coffee is a donut's best friend! Start your day off the right way; munch out and go back to sleep. Of course, The Never Ending Urn of Coffee is full and ready to help you wash it all down. Texas coffee doesn't get much better. Enjoy Texas! You know you want to!®

***** Texas Chat Reminder *****

The Texas Weekly Chat Session will be Saturday (TODAY) at High Noon Texas Time (CDT) ***Saturday***. And, if you can't be there right at Noon, that is Ok, Texas Chat usually runs 3, 4, 5 hours with some Chats running as high as 7 or 8 hours.

We have an all new Chat Site this year that is much better than the old one. It is here if you want to go straight there: http://texasregion.net/blab70/login.php This is a great opportunity for nations old and new to Texas to find out what is going on! We chat, we debate, we talk about the weather, we talk about stuff we like, stuff we hate, random stuff and more stuff. But, it is never stuffy. Usually, it is about meeting your fellow Texans and talking about the latest and most interesting stuff in NationStates at the moment. But then again, sometimes NationStates does not even come up. It is wide-open chatting with peeps from around The World both IRL and NS. It is Texans, EuroTexans, WannabeTexans, ex-Texans and Friends of Texans. We have it all and all are welcome. Texas Chat, 548 weeks and running! For the math-challenged, that is over 10¾ years! Check it out! Good stuff!

**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new General Assembly Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note for which Resolution. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Repeal "Prohibiting Animal Abuse"
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal Resolution: GA#335 Proposed by: Imperium Anglorum

Description: WA General Assembly Resolution #335: Prohibiting Animal Abuse (Category: Moral Decency; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out"...

<see page=ga for full text>

Ok, this is an Insta-Repeal™ for the 71% of the World Assembly nations who voted for this last week. Texans were a little split by a vote of 2 for and 5 against. We were against it because there were some major conflicts in commercial processing of animals. The author of this one has nine plus more reasons you should vote for a Repeal of this dog. As a reminder, the issue here is the REPEAL of the existing law. A vote AGAINST this Resolution means you are in favor of the existing law and do not want it repealed. A vote FOR this Resolution means you want the law off the books. NewTexas will go on record as FOR on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was down on the last GA vote -- World Space Administration -- which was passed after gaining 51.08% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 5 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 0 FOR and 4 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were unanimous! Yay!

NewTexas has already voted on this Resolution in advance of publicly expressed opinions. We did this at the urging of many leaders in the World Assembly. As we have been saying for years, Texas is a force in the WA. Many feel that Texas can influence the overall vote if it votes first. There is an observed "lemming effect" that occurs during voting. Apparently a large number of votes are cast based on whichever side of the issue is leading when voters vote. Therefore, to get the most impact from our vote, we are now voting first. We will re-evaluate our original vote at midnight prior to the current vote. As always, we are open to suggestions on how we should vote on this Resolution to most accurately reflect opinion of the populace. Comments are welcome from all nations, both WA Members as well as those who are not. Please make your voice heard on the current issue either on this message board or on our offsite message board. But, by all means, please vote on the WA Page!

If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it. And, if you are not a member of the World Assembly, we strongly encourage you to join.

All WA Member nations please vote. Please make your opinions known in Texas by 11:00pm Tuesday and in the World Assembly voting booth by 11:00pm Texas Time on Wednesday the 22nd. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 3696 Votes AGAINST: 625

Big Tex

PS: Remember, be sure to vote at the World Assembly too!

Whoops
I meant the Black Riders.

46 years ago we landed on the Moon. To celebrate we offer free pop rocks and moon pies to everyone.

Sorry our fine 10000 Islands buddy, but, Texas doesn't invade anyone, ever. Not even invaders. 'Nuff said.

I'm currently living oversees and I've really been wondering how he's getting support.

Hello guys! I decided to move to Texas, I believe it will be a great experience. I hope here can be my final home, I'm tired of changing region.

Have a good game.

That moment when you accidentally move to another region because you miss the delete button and hit the move to button. Stupid Space Administration.

Hello all! I'm from Libertatem and we are interested in befriending you. As you can see, my main nation, Midland county, is named after a county in Texas. So that's neat.

It's usually because having new regions is always interesting. I'm one of the government members here too, so you've already kinda talked to us. I'm not the person in charge however.

I took the liberty of looking into the details of Libertatem, and it appears that they conform to all the set requirements for embassies, except for one instance of a possibly misplaced Invader tag on Antista, which may warrant further investigation (I'm not in charge of that). Midland of libertatem in texas yeehaw, if you'd like to submit a diplomacy request, at the moment, I'd suggest disregarding the Secretary of State, seeing as Richard hasn't been active for about a week, and a month before that, and sending a telegram to NewTexas or Studly Penguins.
