Duct tape can fix a video game controller but certainly not build a death star!

Blasphemy 😛

Have a great 4th of July everyone.

Howdy, Texas!

Happy soon to be Independence Day!

Indian Empire wrote:Duct tape can fix a video game controller but certainly not build a death star!

It can't build a Death Star but you can duct tape a screen over that vulnerable thermal exhaust port and block those proton torpedoes.

Happy 4th of July y'all!! Have fun and stay safe out there!!!

**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new General Assembly Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note for which Resolution. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Protected Status in Wartime
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights Strength: Significant Proposed by: Separatist Peoples

Description: Praising the protected status accorded to"...

<see page=ga for full text>

Sheesh! A new war Resolution! This is yet another attempt to legislate war. We do not think the WA should be allowed to write the Laws of War. War is war and each conflict varies from the next. There is no "perfect" war that can be run by a book such as the one the World Assembly is attempting to write. Sure, it would be great if every war was scheduled and signed off on before it began, but then again so would world peace and free cookies and milk every day. Our long-standing position has been that war is war and it is not a thing that can be legislated with realistic expectations. Stuff happens during war. While this Resolution is well-meaning, NewTexas will go on record as AGAINST on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was way down on the last GA vote -- Preserving Antimicrobials -- which was passed after gaining 84.82% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 3 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 2 FOR and 1 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were somewhat split on that one.

NewTexas has already voted on this Resolution in advance of publicly expressed opinions. We did this at the urging of many leaders in the World Assembly. As we have been saying for years, Texas is a force in the WA. Many feel that Texas can influence the overall vote if it votes first. There is an observed "lemming effect" that occurs during voting. Apparently a large number of votes are cast based on whichever side of the issue is leading when voters vote. Therefore, to get the most impact from our vote, we are now voting first. We will re-evaluate our original vote at midnight prior to the current vote. As always, we are open to suggestions on how we should vote on this Resolution to most accurately reflect opinion of the populace. Comments are welcome from all nations, both WA Members as well as those who are not. Please make your voice heard on the current issue either on this message board or on our offsite message board. But, by all means, please vote on the WA Page!

If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it. And, if you are not a member of the World Assembly, we strongly encourage you to join.

All WA Member nations please vote. Please make your opinions known in Texas by 11:00pm Monday and in the World Assembly voting booth by 11:00pm Texas Time on Tuesday the 7th. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 3196 Votes AGAINST: 844

PS: Remember, be sure to vote at the World Assembly too!

***** Texas Saturday Breakfast *****

Yippee, it is Saturday Breakfast Time! Today is Fourth Of July Grilled Breakfast! In honor of the Fourth of July, we will be grilling breakfast today. We will start off with freshly-grilled, Texas-sized, cured, hickory smoked Ham Steaks! Oh Boy, these babies are good and thick, super juicy and expertly grilled with beautiful crosshatch grill marks. Top those bad boys off with skillet fried eggs right off the grill, or, have them scrambled. If you don't want to top your ham steak with eggs, top it off with great grilled pineapple slices caramelized to perfection. Just for fun, try some Grilled Texas Toast French Toast - fat slices of genuine Texas Toast soaked in a tasty cinnamon-vanilla egg bath and grilled to order. If ham is not your deal, there will be sumptuous sage country sausage patties on the grill right next to the super-thick slab bacon. For the adventurous, we will be serving up plenty of back bacon to honor Canada Day (which we forgot to celebrate Wednesday) that will be going on the BBQ as well. Smoked Sausages are smoking and ready to be wrapped in tortillas for Texas-style Pigs in a Blanket. Orange Juice, Tomato juice and Lone Star Beer will all be on tap for your beverage pleasure. It doesn't get much better than this! Start your day off the right way; munch out and go back to sleep. Of course, The Never Ending Urn of Coffee is full and ready to help you wash it all down. Texas coffee doesn't get much better. Enjoy Texas! You know you want to!®

Happy Fourth of July Texas! Here's hoping each and every nation has a fun, safe and BBQ-filled 4th! Cheers!

The Texas Weekly Chat Session will be Saturday (TODAY) at High Noon Texas Time (CDT) ***Saturday*** in the Chat Forum on the offsite forum. Sure, just watch out for King Arthur.

King Arthur, also known as Chester A Arthur, the 20th US President.

**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new Security Council Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And rememqber Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Commend Flemingovia
A resolution to recognize outstanding contribution by a nation or region.

Category: Commendation Nominee: Flemingovia Proposed by: Funkadelia

Description: The Security Council,

Noting that for over ten years, Flemingovia has been a pillar"...

<see page=sc for full text>

Yehaw! The Security Council wants to commend Flemingovia of, well, many regions, but we know them primarily from The North Pacific. Flemingovia has been around since December, 2003 non-stop. That in itself is deserving of a commendation in this die-and-ressurect world we live in. We have only spoken to Flemingovia briefly, but they did take the time and trouble to register on our offsite for a Summit we hosted. From the Resolution, it sounds like Flemingovia has done a lot of positive things over the year we did not even know about in addition to some of the more obvious things in helping to defend/restore TNP. Flemingovia certainly gets around. We have a positive impression of him and Funk's depiction of deeds sounds commend-worthy to us. NewTexas will go on record as FOR on this Resolution. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was way down on the last SC vote -- Repeal "Liberate Congress of Armed Proletarian States" -- which was passed after gaining 86.01% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 4 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 2 FOR and 1 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were unanimous! Yay!

NewTexas has already voted on this Resolution in advance of publicly expressed opinions. We did this at the urging of many leaders in the World Assembly. Hi Guys, what's new??

Howdy Empress! Looks like we are up to our ears in dead llamas in Texas. Everybody grab a shovel, we are going to need some help getting all these billions of llamas into the Texas Graveyard CryoChambers®. Here's to wishing God-Emperor Vlad is ok somewhere. * raises a Lone Star in his honor *

What a mild Summer so far! NewAustin has not even hit 100 yet! How is it going in New Aztlan? Doing anything fun this Summer?

Anybody else doing/did something fun?

Wait, why is my bed covered in llama corpses?
