Lol I will now force you to marry me in the name of freedom

You are now my slave and must do what I want because I am black - I am gay - I am an atheist - I am female

I don't really go against people with gay ideologies, but I'm not really a fan of it either.

**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new Security Council Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Repeal "Liberate Congress of Armed Proletarian States"
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal Resolution: SC#180 Proposed by: Proletaire

Description: WA Security Council Resolution #180: Liberate Congress of Armed Proletarian States shall be struck out"...

<see page=sc for full text>

Ok, this is an Insta-Repeal™ for the 89% stupid nations who voted for this last week. That was just dumb and we are proud that Texans did not fall for it. We are truly an enlightened bunch. Texans were unanimously against it by a vote of 0 for and 4 against. We were against it as a nation because we knew it would do nothing. Let's get rid of this POS legislation. As a reminder, the issue here is the REPEAL of the existing law. A vote AGAINST this Resolution means you are in favor of the existing law and do not want it repealed. A vote FOR this Resolution means you want the law off the books. NewTexas will go on record as FOR on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was down on the last SC vote -- Liberate Congress of Armed Proletarian States -- which was passed after gaining 89.41% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 4 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 0 FOR and 4 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were unanimous! Yay!

NewTexas has already voted on this Resolution in advance of publicly expressed opinions. We did this at the urging of many leaders in the World Assembly. As we have been saying for years, Texas is a force in the WA. Many feel that Texas can influence the overall vote if it votes first. There is an observed "lemming effect" that occurs during voting. Apparently a large number of votes are cast based on whichever side of the issue is leading when voters vote. Therefore, to get the most impact from our vote, we are now voting first. We will re-evaluate our original vote at midnight prior to the current vote. As always, we are open to suggestions on how we should vote on this Resolution to most accurately reflect opinion of the populace. Comments are welcome from all nations, both WA Members as well as those who are not. Please make your voice heard on the current issue either on this message board or on our offsite message board. But, by all means, please vote on the WA Page!

If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it. And, if you are not a member of the World Assembly, we strongly encourage you to join.

All WA Member nations please vote. Please make your opinions known in Texas by 11:00pm Monday and in the World Assembly voting booth by 11:00pm Texas Time on Tuesday the 30th. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 3184 Votes AGAINST: 487

Big Tex

PS: Remember, be sure to vote at the World Assembly too!

No, you go to the Texas Chat, then introduce yourself, then get up for 5 Minutes to make some toast, and then come back to your computer and eat it while chatting on the computer :P

Being Gay is not an ideology, any more than Heterosexuality is an ideology. There doesn't appear to be a single "showtune gene," but the environment in the uterus as the fetus is developing may have something to do with it. Boys with older brothers have a disproportionately more likely chance of being Gay than firstborn boys. Whether it is genetic, environmental, or anything else, one is either born GLBTQ or becomes that way very shortly after birth, long before there's any possibility of choice.

Some of you know that there used to be a profound prejudice against left-handed people. During the Middle Ages, it was assumed that anything that came from the left side was under the influence of the devil, so lefties faced puishment (even imprisonment, up to and including capital punishment), ostracization, and even well into the mid-twentieth century, lefties were taught either to write with their right hand or to use a totally unnatural style so that their writing would appear to be from a right-handed person. My own mother, when I was a baby starting to learn to feed myself, noted that if she put the spoon in the middle of my tray, I would pick it up with my left hand and teach myself to eat like a leftie. So she made a habit of it to put the spoon on my right side, so I would pick it up with my right hand. So these days I do some things predominantly with my right hand, like writing, while more recently-acquired skills, like bowling, I tend to do better with my left hand. Forks and knives confuse me--I'll have to stop and think about which hand is conventionally used for which utensil. Finally, we realized that being left-handed is a variation on a theme, that in any given human population over time, roughly 3/4 will be right-handed and about 1/4 will be left-handed or ambidextrous. It's all good. We are now at that point with sexual minorities--most people no longer assume sexual minorities are evil or defective, we're just a variation on a theme. I and most other gay folks don't want special rights, etc.; we just want to be treated the same as anyone else, including the right to marry the partner of our choosing, working at those jobs for which we have an aptitude, be able to live where we want and can afford, be able to hold hands in public and other casual PDAs without people staring at us, being able to have contracts the same as anyone else, not to have to live in fear that our parents and friends will disown us if our 'secret' were ever to be known, or face the fear of being fired from a job simply for being gay, when such has nothing to do with our job, and all the rest.

As the Founder of Gay, I get a lot of hate mail, mainly from children who are simply aping what their parents have said, and from Christian and Islamic fundamentalists. As is the case with ethnic and religious minorities, you need not care for us nor have much to do with us, and that's fine. People change at different paces and we respect that. Some head cases, though, will turn their hatred and fear into violence, like the bigoted white man who murdered 9 people in a Black Baptist Church, here in my home state of South Carolina. Gay people (and straight people who are assumed to be gay) are routinely gay-bashed and murdered. Unfortunately, that doesn't usually make the seven o'clock news, or if it does, that it was a hate crime is usually obscured. Change can be a little frightening for some people, but in this case, the Undiscovered Country is a better, fairer place. The fact that I can now get married in any of the fifty states and have that marriage recognized by the federal government and all 49 of the other states has no impact on you or your straight marriage. Gay marriage is over 10 years old in MA and despite the dire predictions from those who proclaimed the end of the world or the end of civilization as we know it, nothing in particular has changed, just a long-oppressed minority is finally "getting a piece of the pie." (Fifty points if you're old enough to recognize that pop quote!)

I really don't see why people have a problem with non-heterosexuality. As long as they don't try and force their way of living on me, or anyone else, I'm fine with it. My problem lies with those that don't understand "to each his own". They aren't causing you any harm. They may go against your beliefs, but that's just it, isn't it? They're your beliefs, not theirs. It's the same thing when religious advocates try to force their religion on you. Just let them believe what they want to, and if they go to Hell (or Purgatory or whatever), who's fault is that but theirs? It isn't your job to save humanity.

And Godzillas tokyo, I really find it hilarious that people seem to believe that homosexual marriage will jeopardize their heterosexual one. It's not like the Supreme Court is making heterosexuality illegal. I honestly feel like outlawing stupidity would solve almost all the world's problems. Of course, that would mean the politicians would pass laws that criminalize being politicians...

Plus that would mean Saudi Arabia would be banning itself from Banning Valentines Day, Anything red, and cupcakes (which they actually have banned)

I can see that you clearly express strong feelings towards this issue.

Anyways, everyone has their own feelings and opinions towards homosexuality. I am currently living in the Middle East, so I am surrounded by people that portray this in a negative light. Inevitably, their opinions have seemed to 'rub off' on me.

I just hope you didn't take it too seriously. :)

**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new General Assembly Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note for which Resolution. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Preserving Antimicrobials
A resolution to modify universal standards of healthcare.

Category: Health Area of Effect: Research Proposed by: Imperium Anglorum

Description: Recalling the gradual evolution of organisms"...

<see page=ga for full text>

Hug the world, save the cheerleader, save the weak diseased microbe, save everything and everybody. Sorry, we are just not feeling the love for microbes that the author of this one does. Apparently there is a real fear that we are killing off all the weak microbes and they are coming back stronger and stronger and will eventually be unstoppable. And, it does not stop there. Apparently they will wreak havoc until World Assembly-approved and printed pamphlets are distributed throughout The World, well, the WA World anyway. Sorry, still not feeling the love; do not have a lot of faith in this. We think we already saw the movie. NewTexas will go on record as AGAINST on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was down on the last GA vote -- Repeal "Nuclear Power Safeguards Act" -- which was passed after gaining 84.00% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 5 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 3 FOR and 2 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were pretty split on that one.

Please make your opinions known in Texas by 11:00pm Thursday and in the World Assembly voting booth by 11:00pm Texas Time on Friday the 3rd. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 5448 Votes AGAINST: 1607

PS: Remember, be sure to vote at the World Assembly too!

I will take that as an apology and accept it. Just because an opinion is common in a given region doesn't make it right. For all I know, expressing a positive opinion about LGBTQ people may be illegal where you live, as it is in Russia. :(

BTW, "We finally got a piece of the piiiiiiiiie" is the last line of the introductory song to The Jeffersons, a spin-off from All in the Family. Everyone remembers Archie Bunker, right? :)

That could be said about most if not all things, some of them I would agree with you on and some I would disagree. As for the marriage thing, I have no real opinion right now, ask me again in 20 years.

I have no problem allowing them to do what they want I just don't like the idea of them forcing other people into being part of there wedding day

How the f*** did this get 34,000 Signatures?

"Death Star" is such a loaded term. Come on people, we're just talking about building a simple space station here. Sure, it may lead to other uses, but that's just scientific progress.

Come on we don't need to build a Death Star just put an ABL "airborne laser" system and a couple Kinetic rod from God systems on the ISS then whamo you get the Death Star . 😋

Aggie engineering. Just give me a little duct tape and we'll see how this goes.
