Raindrop Valley International News: 30 September 2014

Good evening and welcome to RIN, Raindrop Valley International News.

I’m Shannon Cole.

In Raindrop valley today, The Governing Council voted against taking part in the Pride Festival celebrations sweeping across the region. The Governing Council determined the Festival to endorse activity that is contrary to morals promoted by the Catholic Church, which the Patriarch is the ultimate head of State. The Festival has divided the regions, with many conservatives opting not to take part, whilst progressives have changed their flags in solidarity.

In the Central Pacific Empire meanwhile, Aanon bay has continued embarking on security-risk activity, by inviting known terrorist to the region for ‘befriending’, leaving security authorities on high alert. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister, Lentheric has been powerless to reprimand the wayward minister, exposing flaws in the power and governance system of the Central Pacific Empire. Defence Minister, Raindrop valley has put forward an idea for closing this loophole, by allowing the Prime Minister to reprimand Council members in times of heightened security. The Defence Minister said in an interview with RIN, “the Prime Minister must have the power to ensure our region remains safe, and any ministers running contrary to that must be reprimanded”.

Moving now to our bureau at the Coalition of Catholic States, light discussion has taken place, whilst the region enjoys the relative regional calm.

Moving across to our reporters at the The Commonwealth of Crowns, the region continues to advertise its NS Wiki page, despite this being down for some time. There are calls from RIN sources quietly hoping the government changes this link, and makes laws and information more readily available for citizens.

Moving now to our bureau in the Confederation of nations, Whestion has been sworn in as Minister of Interior of the region and Defero Populus has been sworn in as Foreign Affairs Minister. The two new Ministers will serve under Prime Minister Kushkanisa until 20 October 2014.

Actually RIN, I have commissioned a historian to reestablish the NSwiki page and when it's ready the NSwiki link will be repaired

I try to not pay attention to RIN too much. It is like watching Fox News. Just painful.

I don't buy into all this. Is your point to deliver ridiculously exaggerated and inaccurate news?

I agree. Even if it's not the most accurate, it's refreshing to see how outsiders see us.

I'm pretty sure there are some journalists out there who care about reporting the truth. Especially those journalists reporting from conflict zones: why risk your life just to spread misinformation?

there's a difference between journalists and propagandists
