On the intentions for direct military interventions in Syria
The World Federation of Democratic Youth highly condemns the imperialist military and political moves towards a direct military intervention to the sovereign state of Syria. WFDY re-affirms its position that we stand against any military or by other means intervention against the people of Syria.
With great concern we have witnessed the past couple of weeks a mobilization of the USA and their NATO allies, EU Britain, Turkey, Gulf countries etc to call upon an immediate and direct military intervention in Syria using the pretext of the well-orchestrated allegations about use of chemical weapons. The recent history has taught us very well how pretexts are easily fabricated or used to justify the modern crimes of imperialism.
The seed of war that the imperialists have planted in Syria will generate a serious of dangers for wider confrontations in the region of Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean, dragging along all the peoples of the region. Already the war in Syria is reflected in Lebanon and the involvement of many other neighboring countries is more than possible.
More than two years have passed since the beginning of the intervention in Syria, by the imperialist powers, headed by the United States, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and of course Israel. The ongoing intervention consists of supplying the opposition with weapons, money, and flooding the country with extremists. All this distorted and used the demands of the Syrian people for reform into an imperialist backed war, beneficial to the international monopolies through weakening the country. They drive the peoples in wars and death, while the natural resources and development of their countries are stolen. In order to weaken the roles and struggle of these countries against the greediness of the imperialist powers, the situation which we witnessed, even if in a different form, in Palestine, Lebanon, etc.
Now imperialism is ready to internationalize the bloodshed they started in Syria and the only answer of the anti-imperialist movement is: hands off Syria!
WFDY calls all the youth anti-imperialist movements around the world to unite their struggle with the popular and peace movements in their countries, demanding the immediate end of any aggression against Syria. Once again we clarify our position that the people of Syria and in the wider region can decide their own future, away from the imperialist mechanisms, in the service of the youth and the people.

The Central Pacific Empire has re-elected Faikliren for a second monthly term as Prime Minister for February 2014. The new government has been appointed which will comprise 2 x Progressive Party members (including myself) and 3 x Liberal Party members.
I am the new Foreign Affairs Minister, after my former colleague and party fellowmen, Bankstown city was unfortunately not re-elected to the imperial Council. Bankstown City led a strong Foreign Affairs portfolio, and I wish to maintain this ongoing communication.

The contradictions, hypocrisy and outright lies of the U.S. push for war against Syria just keep piling up. But so far, it appears that the world isn�t buying Uncle Sam�s snake oil. One of the most appalling aspects of this situation is that the country beating the drums about �red lines� is responsible, directly or indirectly, for many of the deadliest attacks on civilians of the last century. A partial list includes the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the use of depleted uranium weapons in Iraq, the �agent orange� defoliation campaign which is still poisoning Vietnam, and much more.
Today, the U.S. is still threatening to bomb Syria if that country isn�t quick enough to destroy its stockpile of chemical weapons. Yet the United States keeps foot-dragging on moves to eliminate its own deadly arsenal. The Pentagon still has about 2,611 tons of mustard gas in a facility in Colorado, and 524 tons of a spectrum of chemical weapons � including deadly nerve agent Sarin � in a facility in Kentucky.
As a ratifier of the Chemical Weapons Convention treaty, overseen by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons at the Hague, the U.S. agreed in 1997 to destroy its chemical weapons stocks within 10 years. Now, U.S. officials say they need another decade. International weapons inspectors have been stymied several times in their efforts to speed things up. Just as ominous, the U.S. remains silent on Israel�s refusal to ratify the Convention, even though Israel has also used such weapons against civilians.
Every rational person wants to see these terrible weapons permanently destroyed. But to be effective, universal disarmament must be truly universal. The U.S. and its closest allies cannot be allowed a free pass, especially given their track record as global bullies.

Pyongyang, March 7 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, sent a message of greeting to Bashar Al-Assad, president of Syria, on Mar. 5.
The message warmly congratulated the president, friendly government and people of Syria on the 51st anniversary of the March 8 revolution in Syria.
