The Most Serene Republic of The Master M is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by King Gaius Vastera IV with an even hand, and renowned for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 8.411 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Defence, although Law & Order and Commerce are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Paraiso. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 51%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, and Uranium Mining industries.

Pharmacies close down as medicinal drugs are sold freely by the government, a survey of the nation's rivers and children has shown that pesticide levels are at an all-time regional high, the government has ordered a moratorium on referenda, and the government has declared its commitment to multilateralism. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. The Master M's national animal is the Evil Saber-Tooth Sheep, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Pastafarianism, and its currency is the Steryl.

The Master M is ranked 20th in Gholgoth and 31,368th in the world for Largest Public Sector, scoring 15 on the Bureaucratic Comprehensiveness Rating Scale Index.
