A Simple Cross

It was a relatively peaceful night. Most of the workers that ran the mill were sent home with a small night crews running the foundry's at a less capacity. Many of them had already take a bus or trolly home but some decided to enter one of the nearby bars and dine-ins that surrounded the entrance of the mill. The busiest had at most 8 people: 5 workers, an traveler, the cook, and the waiter. Each occupation keep to themselves as the nessecity of the day conversation wasn't required. The loudest the diner would get was when the worker began to bellow like a pack of Hyena's. Etheir than that, only sound produced was the music from the radio.

The door bell rang as a another man enter the diner. No one looked at him until the waiter popped out from behind the counter.

"Hello Sir, what ca- Oh my gods!" She yelled, dropping her pen and paper. The other occupants eyes looked at the door and saw her panic. The man's blue shirt was covered in blood which itself was coming from a knife lodged into his left shoulder.

"Help me!" He dropped to the floor, crying in the pain. One of the workers got up and ran to assist him.

"Who done this to you?" He asked. The worker placed his hand on the knife, yanking it out and then dropping it. He decided to take his upper shirt off to wrap it around the wound. Another worker approached the two. He knelt besides the man, "You need anything?"

The wounded man had kept his face down but allowed a silent laugh to form. This threw off the two helpers. The laughter became louder. He began to lift his head to the two. And when they saw it, a rash of a cross had taken form. His eyes and teeth were wide and deranged. "I WANT TO EAT YOU BALLS!" The crosses man grabbed the knife and stabbed the shirtless man inner thigh. Every person in the diner releases a shout that was only silenced by the laughter of the crossed man.

Outside the world had became ablazed with fire and smoke that ran through the city. Cars had etheir been wrecked, became weapons of murder, or attempts to flee the growing number of people who bore the cross. Buildings that weren't on fire had become battlefields in their own right. The streets were filled with the mad orgys of gangs of the crosses that searched for any non-crosses. In a normal world, the sky would be occupied by screams of panic and orders. But now, only the laughter of the insane.

Anarchy in the Republic
Anarchy has broken out in the cities and towns of Swanovia, as the insane band together to carve up those that remain. Before the storming of Parliament by an aggressive mob, the President declared martial law, authorising the military to use any means necessary to restore order before succumbing to the masses of insane who rushed the building, massacring guards, administrators and civil servants alike, crushing each other in their attempts to break into the building. Across the city, the Republican Dockyard became the bastion of sanity in the sea of craziness, as the military, police and civilians were flushed into the area by the horde of cross-bearers. Once they arrived, defensive positions were taken up, those who were deemed insane were purged, especially those in the military or police, and the immediate area was deemed safe. While in name it was a Dockyard only, in reality, it was the main facility of the Swanovian Armed Forces on the Home Island, home to the strategists, generals and garrisons for the capital and the surrounding region. A similar occurrence took place in Jandamaya, where the facility's twin was taken over by the Mainland Garrison for the Twin Cities after the blocking of the end of the Twin Cities Bridge. Both bases are able to resupply each other through naval dominance due to the presence of military ships and submarines.

In Outer Swanovia, things were grimmer. The waves of insane in Surakan and New Jakarta had taken their toll physically and psychologically on the two cities. In both, the harbour had fallen, and the remaining sane had poured into the university campuses, taking advantage of the tall buildings and defensible positions to hold back the tide of insane civilians. In the cities, military experience was much more common due to conscription and mandatory training, however most weapons lay in the hands of the sane. This forced the insane to use makeshift and crude weapons like machetes and cricket bats, creating bloody and horrific scenes across the cities, especially in chokepoints in the inner city, where bodies and cars clog the roads and blood runs red through the drains. With Parliament gone, all power rests in the hands of the military, and their use of high-level technology to restore order to the nation.

Our region is safe! It is on Password lock right now until our founder returns!

Chaos In The Holds
The Dwarves believed that they were not able to be infected by dark magic after the Vampyric War, but they were proven wrong with the arrival with this strange new plague. The Dwarves called the The Maddened Cross for it's ability to turn people from functioning and able workers to the worshipers of the insane. The Hosguard, Agaraz Hills, Ironhold, and many of the northern Holds were effected, with the two independent Dwarven Clans falling to the Maddened Cross. A saddening sight for Clan Durak, but still the remnants remained hopeful. King Duran securing his position at Hosguard, made great strives to retake the hold by ancient dwarf defensive tactics for they fought horde like enemies before... It's just that they didn't think it was going to be their own brothers...

The Underways were no longer safe, every Hold were isolated from one with limited communications running in and out of them through messengers that may or may not be able to deliver messages. Since Clan Durak's Holds agreed to not open their of the Razdan Mountains until this threat is eliminated from Clan Durak, no help will be coming from the outside. The only exception was Agaraz Hills...

In Agaraz Hills, although the entire city erupted in chaos, the Swavonian Quarter was perhaps the more vulnerable portions of the city as more of the Maddened Cross appeared in humans rather than the Dwarven Quarters. The harbors have been overrun as survivors are attempting to find their ways into the Under City of Agaraz Hills. Shield Walls have formed around the perimeter of the the hold in order to prevent the Maddened Cross into the safe area.

Choas quickly took control in the Swanovian Quarter, as the festival-goers, troublemakers and students on vacation were susceptible to the disease that brought the madness, leaving the Swanovian Quarter under the control of the bloody, violent infected people. Pockets of survivors remained throughout the Quarter, held up in apartments, hotel rooms and houses, with many residents having built small armories and shelters in the event of such a catastrophe that would cut the Quarter off from the mainland. To the insane, these pockets proved too hard to clear, as they were forced to funnel through small chokepoints which allowed defenders to clear them easily. Instead, they turned their focus outside, wreaking havoc on the smaller residents of Agaraz Hills, using their larger size and greater speed to chase and mutilate the dwarves. However, these dwarves had proved to be somewhat resistant to the plague that affected the Swanovians, and there was hope for them that they could turn the tide of the massacre and force the infected back into the sea.

After re-consolidating the their forces in the Under city, the Dwarves of Agaraz Hills opened the gates to the Over City and clashed against hordes of the insane. They maybe bigger in size, but the Ironbreakers demonstrated full well on how the insane's physical attributes paled in comparison to the might of Clan Durak. The Shield Wall held at the gates as the insane clattered against Dwarven Shield a fatal mistake that was swiftly repented by Dwarven weaponry. Runic Infused axes and hammers swung with great the rage and strength as Rangers and Thunderers provided support, human height definitely not on their side as sharp shooters attempted clear out the horde further. After what seems to be hours of fighting, many would think to see the Dwarves starting to fatigue, however years of fighting for survival in the underground taught the Dwarves to remain in the fight, for the fallen and for their homes.

When the horde appeared to it's weakest... The Dwarves began their advance to retake the Over City...

After what feels like an eternity of silence Fusou broadcasts to all nations that all is well. Our nation is safe and our people are prospering.
