The large but sluggish Fezziktopian economy, worth 117 trillion rounds a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector is led by the Retail industry, with major contributions from Book Publishing, Information Technology, and Automobile Manufacturing. Average income is 27,995 rounds, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The only women behind bars are barmaids, aeroplane cockpits no longer have altimeters or airspeed indicators, gossip magazines have been replaced by mask catalogs, and citizens receive notices of disenfranchisement along with their parking tickets. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Fezziktopia's national animal is the Russian double-headed eagle thing.
