Let him. It's not like they can't view the RMB. If anything it's another sign of yet more unnecessary traits of TNI. I'm surprised they can hold treaties with anyone other than Raiders and Imperialists.

As far as I know, Chasmanthe is not a member of TNI, but a member of Lone Wolves United. I'm not sure what he is doing there..I just thought it was odd behaviour.

I don't know much about LWU, but I see no point in copying posts from one RMB to another.

Neither

The Coalition promised transparency & inclusion - that they have not even advised the region negotiations where taking place that have a significant impact on our relations with the rest of NS speaks volumes about their commitment to those values

The Coalition is inferring that, because the inhabitants do not participate in the debate they do not care what happens in the region, and therefore they have carte blanche to follow whatever policy they choose

I do not wish to suggest that there is a cartel of nations clinging ruthlessly to power - they are doing the best thy can with the resources available - but if the numbers involved are so minuscule any opposition that arises in an attempt to curb the excesses of an unchecked executive. The Assembly is increasingly at risk of turning into an ivory tower, with grandees following their personal agendas and becoming increasingly isolated from the Region it claims to represent

As there are 29 "Citizens" who currently make up the Assembly, I propose that any WA nation with more than 30 endorsements who is not currently a citizen is made a Region Councilor. Any decisions concerning policy that effects the Region that The Coalition wish to introduce must be ratified by the Regional Council via a simple majority vote here on the RMB

We need a poll. Nothing's happening.

What, USA invaded?

Mr L Prosser is the Council Official who confronts Arthur Dent during the planned destruction of the latters house in Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy:

Prosser"But Mr Dent, the plans have been available in the local planning office for the last nine months."

Dent"Oh yes, well as soon as I heard I went straight round to see them, yesterday afternoon. You hadn't exactly gone out of your way to call attention to them, had you? I mean, like actually telling anybody or anything."

Prosser"But the plans were on display ..."

Dent"On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them."

Prosser"That's the display department."

Dent"With a flashlight."

Prosser"Ah, well the lights had probably gone."

"So had the stairs."

Prosser"But look, you found the notice didn't you?"

Dent"Yes," said Arthur, "yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware of the Leopard'."

The point is not that the choice was made to go ahead, but rather the lack of communication to the Region that this was something THEIR representatives were contemplating.
I am not asking for sensitive information be discussed outside the Assembly, but the fact that negotiations were taking place should have surely featured in some sort of bulletin to the region rather than us being presented with a fait accompli? A public "heads up" might have also alleviated the situation with TNI

There have been protests about the fighting in Gaza in a town up the road from where I live, I live in Ireland!!!

Sounds like a variation on "The Merry Minuet".

What part of Ireland the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland ?

Bear connors paradiso

New Zealand? What part of Australia is that?

Ahahaha. Ireland is an island occupied (sadly) by two countries.

What about we brake the borders? Of all nations?

We will not implement a Regional Council as you propose it, Distortilla. If someone is as interested in regional government as to participate in it, then they would go to the forum anyways, and become members of the Assembly. Limiting membership to WA nations is completely unfair to those who want to be active here but have their WA nations elsewhere.

Canada is not an ally of us and we have zero contact with them, so I don't see how the loss of the TNI alliance has any effect on their invasion. Not to say we wouldn't think of a friendlier relationship with them, but currently there is no such relationship.

I'm sure one of the rules of journalism is not to become the story. Chasmanthe is a resident of The Lexicon. Sparaxis was a one time resident of Canada as former ambassador of TSP. I'm not a member of TNI, which is a de facto ally of LWU due to their invader traits. :)

I can just copy some quotes to where more people will read them, I don't see anything really weird with this.

Post self-deleted by Kringalia.

It's weird because I don't really get your point. What do you want to accomplish by quoting those posts?

TBQH, we cannot say that we have zero contact with Canada. Of the UCRs, Canada is one of the most enduring diplomatic relationships that we have. When I arrived here, TSP-Canada relations were already humming along. Canada continued to maintain diplomatic relations with us for years - for instance, ParrrrTay was probably the longest-serving ambassador to TSP. Canada had supported us during our times of crisis, most recently, during the last coup in 2013.

Agreed here. I was curious what happened to end our ties to Canada.

Still, Kris is right that atm we don't have diplomatic relations with them so the idea that invading Canada was in retaliation is a bit ... far fetched. But, once this things fixed, maybe we should attempt further relations.

Wait, what's happening to Canada?

Why are we withdrawing embassies?

We're not. Canada was invaded and they are withdrawing their Embassy with us.

We do have in-game embassies and offsite forum consulates (last update from Canada was three weeks ago), so I'm puzzled as to where the "we don't have diplomatic relations with Canada" comes from. But yes, I do agree that the idea that Canada was invaded because of TSP is really far fetched. From what I see, this invasion of Canada had been planned for months.

B&N:
We might have an embassy with Canada, but we have no actual relationship. Regardless of how they might have been in the past, we don't talk now, we don't even know who's in their government. Still, like has been said, a renewed relationship is worth exploring, and something I'd like.

Brut, I'm using "diplomatic relations" synonymously with "treaty" so it might be a misstatement on my part.
