The Interstellar Empire of Weylara is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by Ptaros Kel'lara and Council with an even hand, and renowned for its restrictive gun laws. Its hard-nosed population of 5.993 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, corrupt individuals juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Nleii. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Information Technology industry.

A large-scale revitalization of the education system is underway, fewer people are bathing as citizens must show ration stamps before they can turn on their faucets, it is illegal for police officers to carry out searches due to strict privacy laws, and all-natural foods are becoming a major fad. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Weylara's national animal is the vwiri, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is the Faith in the Fourteen, and its currency is the jiire.

Weylara is ranked 12th in Angolis and 94,300th in the world for Most Compassionate Citizens, scoring -280 on the Kitten Softness Rating.
