The Reasonably High Self-Esteem of Adaia is a gargantuan, safe nation, ruled by Polo with an iron fist, and notable for its keen interest in outer space. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 10.369 billion complete morons are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, moralistic, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Turrig-zzi-Eyss. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 34%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Automobile Manufacturing.

Most academic research has ground to a halt, the country's famous rainforests are being bulldozed by the mining industry, reports of arson have doubled since the introduction of a privatised fire protection service, and soldiers are equipped with multi-million garnet battlesuits. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Adaia's national animal is the lizard, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Glam-Djent, and its currency is the garnet.

Adaia is ranked 1st in New Warsaw Pact and 304th in the world for Largest Information Technology Sector, scoring 24 on the Fann-Boi Productivity Index.
