*receives issue about Taxes being too high*
*is ranked in the top 4% for highest freedom from taxation*
*is also ranked in the 98% for taxation*
Well... *heavy sigh*
*cuts taxes more*
Well you are taxing 4% for people whose annual income is 3 months' rent and $33k off the other end of the spectrum. I can't see either end enjoying that very much.
Are we having an election?
Would it matter? Check some of the members our current government, and see how long it has been since any of them have logged in.
Balder has been without government for quite some time now. Just absentee landlords who pop up for a couple days when someone notices, then vanish again for six months.
The government mainly does its work on the offsite forums & discord server. It would be nice for them to spend a bit more time in the region proper however :)

It's been explained many times to you how things work. If you want to continue being ignorant of the fact that's your business but please don't lie to people because things aren't the way you want them to be.
What do we need a government for exactly ?

This is a discussion that many regions have. There are many people who say that if it doesn't happen here, it is irrelevant. There are others who feel that regional activity on anywhere is good. I personally believe that activity should be spread across all regional platforms....as long as it isn't IRC.
I'm going to say no to Nazis being in Balder personally.
Yeah, I agree. All platforms can complement each other other.
Not necessarily about 'me' at all. I'm fairly sure that most governing bodies in any political situation in the world, actually spend at least a bit of their time in the actual jurisdiction that they represent, but keep selling yourself this idea that off-shored leadership in absentia is perfectly normal
That's not a really good analogy, in my opinion.
Forums are better in almost every conceivable way for organization, and using chatting apps like discord and skype (blegh) are very convenient, although I do tend to neglect the RMB too much in favor of them.
Having the government function off-site *is* perfectly normal in NS, but I have a feeling we're going to have to agree to disagree.
Again, this shows just how ignorant you are of how things work on NS. This is not the real world. How things are done here is perfectly normal. You're trying to sell the exception, not the norm. Most activity is conducted on the forum and discord which is our jurisdiction(in case you're under any delusion that it isn't) and which is the case for the vast majority of regions with a government. But keep selling yourself the idea that the RMB is the be all and end all for a region, because you know, hundreds of instant messages between people on discord and the 125K+ forums posts are a far inferior metric to judge activity and involvement than the RMB.
And again as I do every time you bring it up I invite you to actually get involved instead of using baseless complaints or leave if it bothers you so much that people use the superior methods for communication that are available to them. It is really that simple.
Why wouldn't people use Discord/forums instead of the RMB? Regional government in NS is a joke--you basically have no powers other than kicking people out of the club. At least Discord and forums give you some ability to organize things the way you want.
Wherever there are people out of the loop, there will be those who want the loop to move to them instead of vice versa.
I love your flag Alvalero !
Merry Christmas! ^_^

merry christmas
Indeed.
I genuinely don't care if you all discuss regional matters over coffee, in Iceland, or, on a conference call on your cells on a Thursday night. My 'ignorant' point was that many in our current gov't haven't actually logged into NS in 30, 40, 50 days.
Say whatever you want about how those fingers are all still, somehow, on the pulse of the region, but I don't buy it
If you're not spending at least a portion of your time here, engaging in Balder directly, in-game (and more importantly, with the people in Balder) then you're not really engaging in Nation States, are you?
As it happens, I manage a sizeable guild in another online game. We have an active discord server, but if a player isn't actually coming into the game, proper, they are removed for inactivity.I'd say that's a far more 'normal' practice in the virtual world than whatever you've got going on here.
