As a second announcement, I'm pleased to present Regional law number 8, which can be read here:
To bring the law into line with the de facto situation of Gay’s overseas territories, Regional Law 8 seeks to rationalise and codify the now semi-standard procedures for Affiliated Regions and Viceroyalties.
Article 1: Affiliated Regions
1. Affiliated Regions are hereby defined as those regions where the founder nations are personally owned by the Administrative Founder of the Region of Gay, and have been declared as Affiliates by the Administrative Founder.
2. Affiliated Regions are hereby granted autonomy in Internal Affairs insofar as their conduct does not contradict the principles of Gay. These principles may be found in Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution of Gay.
3. Affiliated Regions are hereby granted minor autonomy in Foreign Affairs. As such, they may select their own embassies, as long as they do not contradict the principles of Gay, and must maintain an embassy with Gay. Official Foreign Affairs stances of Affiliate Regions must be in line with those of Gay. The Foreign Minister of Gay may overrule and reverse Foreign Affairs decisions made by Affiliated Regions should they contradict the principles of Gay.
4. The Region of Gay shall open its discord to members of Affiliated Regions as the primary social hub for the regional network. Affiliate Regions shall maintain links to the Gay discord on their WFEs.
5. In the event of a change in Administrative Founder for the Region of Gay, the outgoing Founder is to pass all founder nations of affiliate regions to their legal successor.
Article 2: Viceroys
1. The Administrative Founder of Gay is hereby permitted to appoint Viceroys to govern Affiliate Regions as they see fit, within the general principles of the Region of Gay. Each Affiliated Region may have only one Viceroy.
2. Viceroys may be dismissed by the Administrative Founder of Gay at any time. The Founder must provide publicly available reasoning for any dismissal of a Viceroy.
3. Viceroys may pass local constitutions and construct governments for their region(s). Local constitutions may not contradict the principles of the Region of Gay.
4. Viceroys are to be granted all Regional Officer powers available. For clarity, this constitutes the powers of;
-Appearance
-Border Control
-Communications
-Embassies
-Polls
5. Viceroys may request that additional government officials be appointed by the Founder as per the laws of their specific governed region.
6. The Administrative Founder may veto any action in an Affiliated Region by its Viceroy
or on the WFE, under pinned dispatches.
Regional law number 8, as the title implies, deals with our affiliated regions, and how they are to be run.
