The UCN School of Theology (UCNST) is the leading theological school on NationStates, supported by the Union of Christian Nations and the NationStates Christian Community Church.
The UCNST is non-denominational and offers courses in the areas of biblical studies, christian studies and ministry.
Whether you’re a Bible beginner or a Bible nerd, studying with the UCNST will give you the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Christian faith.

Any units studied, including single unit study, can be fully accredited to your course.
You can apply for recognition of prior learning from external study and experience. For more information, check out The University of NationStates's Recognition of Prior Learning & Advaced Standing Policy.
You can study individual subjects without committing to an entire course! If you decide to study a course later, your units can be credited giving you a head start!
The Certificate gives students an introduction in christian thinking and theological understanding

The Diploma gives students a foundational understanding in christian thinking and theological understanding

Requirements: 2 Foundation Units + 1 Unit (any)
The Bachelor degree gives students a comprehensive understanding in christian thinking and theological understanding

The Masters degree provides students with the ability to have a deep understanding in christian thinking and theological understanding.
There are 2 streams available - coursework or research.
Masters by Coursework

Masters by Research
Introduction
Think of an area you'd like to study, develop a thesis statement and get it approved by your tutor. This will form the basis of your masters thesis.
Part A - Literature Review
Find at least 3 scholarly/reputable articles that discuss your research topic. For each article provide (1) the scholarly reference (2) A 100 word summary of the article (3) What the article answers relating to your topic (4) What gaps/questions does this article present.
Once completed, you should submit the review to your supervisor.
Part B - Thesis
Write a 1,000 word thesis that addresses your research topic. Full scholarly referencing should be provided.
Your supervisor will provide a full review of your draft.
Part C - Academic Committee Review
You should present your final thesis to the Academic Review Committee for review. Once satisfied, the committee will confer your award of Masters of Theology and publish the thesis in the NationStates Journal of Theology & Christian Studies.
A Doctorate of Theology from the UCN School of Theology is a researched-based postgraduate degree which provides students with the ability to contribute original research and knowledge to an area of study which ensures that when you graduate, you will have a detailed, indepth theological understanding which will enable you to expertly apply in both a christian and everyday context.
Introduction
Think of a research topic you'd like to study, develop a research question and get it approved by your supervisor. This will form the basis of your doctoral thesis.
Part A - Literature Review
Find at least 5 scholarly/reputable articles that discuss your research topic. For each article provide (1) the scholarly reference (2) A 200 word summary of the article (3) What the article answers relating to your topic (4) What gaps/question does this article present (5) What further research/thinking needs to happen from the outline of this article.
Once completed, you should submit the review to your supervisor.
Part B - Thesis
Write a 2,000 word thesis that addresses your research topic. Full scholarly referencing should be provided.
Your supervisor will provide a full review of your draft.
Part C - Academic Committee Review
You should present your final thesis to the Academic Review Committee. The committee may ask you a series of questions on your research and your thesis. Once satisfied, the committee will confer your award of PhD and publish the thesis in the NationStates Journal of Theology & Christian Studies.
