And I'm sure you did indeed miss the point.
I can understand that somebody says, 'I hate democracy' as a kind of joke that means to express frustration about a result of a specific vote. I think that must be the case here.
Just imaging the Canadian people don't have the chance to vote again and get rid of your 'feminazi sympathizer' because she decides to become Canadas dictator. 'If it is possible in Turkey, why not in Canada?!', she might think.
I found it frustrating that in Egypt and Tunis people got rid of their dictators after the arab spring and then the majority voted for the Muslim brotherhood or alike... In such cases I get doubts that all places are suitable for pure democracy already.
Somebody said, 'Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others'.
Then what is this point?
You keep suggesting that I'm insulting her because she's a woman or something, but that's not the case. She is incompetent (and again, that's not because she's female, damnit!) yet got the role because "diversity".
I didn't say I hate democracy. I just see its flaws.
She? Justin Trudeau is a man. That's why I called him a sympathizer, rather than a feminazi himself.
And again, underlining the issue that I have.
I don't have an issue criticizing her. I have an issue though if the criticism was "X person received Y position because of diversity."
You're saying that you're not insulting her because of her gender, but say that she only received her role because of it. I don't believe so.
Guy, The silver knights of aquaraiz, and Democratic peoples republic of korea
Who is this female?
I thought the poll option you have chosen was something with 'I hate democracy'. I was referring to that. Sry if I'm wrong.
Ok, Justin Trudeau, almighty dictator of Canada. Better?
As I said, I don't think democracy is always and everywhere the perfect solution but in the long run desirable core of a functional republic, like Canada. What you describe does not really (or not at all) challenge the idea of democracy itself.
If Trump really becomes president, I might revise my stance...
*coughs* Donald Trump *coughs*
Solution: Abolish government. *nods*
Also, all this talk of Canadian politics is confusing my British mind. I knew that we should never have given you people independence.
haha.
when I was a kid I watched 'Due South'. Until before this femnazi conversation i was totally under the impression that all Canadians must be like Benton Frazer.
Ok, I once saw a picture of a Canadian guy who didn't wear this nice red uniform and the cool hat but I'm still not convinced that he was really Canadian. Maybe an immigrant or at least just half Canadian?
And now I learn there are even females in Canada?
That sounds painful for the both of us! XD
I used to think Canadians were just like Americans but with checked shirts and ice hockey teams on their caps... and then I visited Canada and found only 80% of them are like that. Some of them don't even wear hats.
#Notall , am I right?
Anyway, I once visited Canada. Positively lovely.
Trudeau did not "replace" his cabinet with half women. This was his *first* cabinet. There was no one to replace.
And before you go into the "but Harper.." spiel - save it. Harper appointed 12 women to cabinet for his final term, Trudeau appointed 15. It's not even worth the calories to argue with you about this.
You're acting as though Trudeau's decision was somehow tantamount to an undoing of Canada's democracy, yet Harper accomplished that all by himself with his authoritarian use of the PMO and his penchant of electoral reform.
If you're going to keep on debating Canadian politics, I'm going to ask Mr. Trump to build a wall across the US-Canada border and to make Canada pay for it.
Bummer
:(
