In LA, but that's not usual weather. If you wish to send a gift basket, we'll take it. I'll have my Minister of Foreign Relations come up with one to send to you in return. Maybe some Targ steaks.

Chief Diplomats Office: I have received your message and relayed it to my superiors and I'm very pleased to send a gift Basket to you.

Like my new flag? Adds just a touch to my Panthers fandom without going too blue.

***** Texas Election Reminder *****

In Texas Election News, the Third Trimester 2014 Texas Election Week is almost over. If you haven't voted yet, shake a leg and head to the offsite and make your voice heard! http://invisionfree.invalid.com/forums/Texas/index.php?showforum=258 Let's go Texas! Election Week closes Sunday at Noon! Let's go Texas!

Also, there is an unprecedented proposal by the Texas Election Commission to yank a Constitutional Amendment vote that Texans need to consider.

BTW, there is all kinds of good eats for voters in certain races! (know what we mean, wink, wink, nudge, nudge?)

Howdy Tejas the great!

Hard to believe that 2 years ago yesterday I first set foot on Lackland AFB.

Trecdom2 wrote:Hard to believe that 2 years ago yesterday I first set foot on Lackland AFB.

Hard to believe that I've been on NS for close to two years already.

We will be celebrating 12 years at the end of January!

Lackland in December is downright pleasant no? We were still in the 70s this week! It was probably a Christmas to remember on an AFB!

We are sure they probably quoted you a little Friedrich Nietzsche, as in, that which does not kill us, makes us stronger..

We had Christmas dinner served to us by the Squadron leadership and watched Batman begins. We also got a half hour phone call home. Our first call since the 2 minute, hello I've arrived this is my address, call the first night. The weather overall was bipolar. We had rain, sun, and cold, within the 2 months I was there. On average the weather wasn't too bad. I talked to a co-worker whose brother is in the Air Guard. He graduated in mid summer, and she said the humidity hit her as soon as she stepped off the plane.

Well that's Texas weather for you.

Yay! Saturday breakfast time! Today is Coffee Cake Craziness Saturday! Everybody loves coffee cake, so we will be serving up plenty of all-time favorites for your dining pleasure. We will start things off by making Texans some nice cinnamon butter streusel coffee cake! This yummy, tender, moist, golden cake is gently swirled throughout with sweet, cinnamon-y, brown sugary, buttery streusel and topped with a simply delicious crumble of more streusel crisped up to a heavenly, crunchy goodness. For a Texas spin on this perfect coffee accompaniment, we have a coffee cake with genuine Texas pecans and swirls of a nice and sweet, sugary glaze on top. We also have a version made with Black Walnuts for a funky taste that grabs some and repels others. We also have plenty of fruit varieties including apple, rhubarb, raisin, pear and strawberry. We will open The Juice Bar is with all the standard juices - Orange, Apple, Grapefruit, Tomato, Prune and Grape. We will add some funkier ones today including a Peach Mango, Pear Nectar and Guava Juice. Try "The Suicide" - we dare you! Start your day off the right way, munch out and go back to sleep. Of course, The Never Ending Urn of Coffee is full and ready to help you wash it all down. Texas coffee doesn't get much better. Enjoy Texas! You know you want to!®

I thought you said you've had Saturday chat for 500 something weeks straight! You broke the streak (or are you disincluding holidays in your count)

50 Chats a year - we always take off Christmas and New Year, well except Year 1 and Year 2 when nobody showed up, probably for good reason. Every 7 years Christmas and New Year are actually on Saturday. Go figure. So, no, they are not 520 consecutive Chats.

Let us know if you need help. We have a team from the Starfleet Corps of Engineers standing by to help with construction. Especially if you wish to utilize transporter technology. For those not trusting the transporter, we suggest a high speed monorail system or hover cars.

***** State of The Region Address *****

December 21, 2014

Greetings Citizens of Texas!

Texas Elections Voting Week is over. It is our great pleasure to present to the region, the brand new Texas Government!!!

***The Texas Government***

**The Texas Cabinet**

The Governor of Texas - NewTexas
The Lieutenant Governor of Texas - Studly Penguins
The Secretary of Defense of Texas - Amandil
The Secretary of State of Texas - Richard
The Secretary of World Assembly Affairs of Texas - No tv and no beer

**Texas Representative Council**

Indian Empire
Trecdom2

**Texas Constitutional Update**

None

The Great Region of Texas officially issues Congratulations to each and every nation that was elected, that ran, that voted, that viewed these proceedings! These were some great elections as usual despite all the seeming irregularities that were all technically correct! This Trimester, all Cabinet positions were uncontested. That means each and every candidate faced No Confidence all alone. Each and every one of them pulled out the win. It was really no shocker since we had all tried and true candidates with Texas Government experience longer than your arm. The Secretary of State was the only close race, but the Pharaoh had it in the bag all along.

In Texas Constitutional matters, we had a Constitutional matter up for a vote. However, it was revealed that the Texas Election Commission overstepped its bounds and the Amendment was removed from the slate. The issue about the line of secession will be sorted out in the next Election. The Texas Election has been cautioned not to do that again.

A little-known, previously-unused clause of Texas Constitution was invoked in the Texas Representative Council race throwing it into turmoil. It seems that the Constitution states that if the nominees do not declare their willingness to run, then they are removed from the ballot. Only two of the eleven nominees publicly-accepted their nomination. So, only two were elected. We suspect there are some other nuggets in the Constitution that will allow is to fill it out, but we are going to have to wait until our crack legal staff have analyzed it before taking any action. Needless to say, we predict some significant Constitutional reforms next Election. As for the current Council, we have a mix of old and new with incumbent Trecdom returning and new Texan, Indian Empire, joining the TRC for the first time.

No Confidence was the big loser this Election. They did receive votes in virtually all races, but nothing significant. It is heartening to see No Confidence coming up short because that means we had a good slate. The Governor defeated No Confidence resoundingly and it was a relief to see no votes for No Confidence.

Please join us in commending all of Texas for their participation in this Trimester's Election! Once again, this Election saw more participation in the many of the trimesters or Trimesters in recent years. The turnout was awesome and we had speeches in all races. There were no tomatoes this Trimester, but that is Ok too. It is nice to see Texans pull together. Texans are still very much alive, yet older, and are a dynamic bunch even after all these years! Kudos!

Big cheers to all the returning Texas Representative Council members and returning Cabinet members! Farewell to the departing ones, your service is appreciated and we look forward to seeing you once again in the future! Special thanks to all who ran and if you didn't win, we hope you run again in the future.

Overall, this has been great fun and a highlight for all Texans. We look forward to seeing how the new freely-elected Government of Texas will make Texas bigger, better and greater than ever! Cheers to The Great Region of Texas!

The Announcement & Party is posted here: http://invisionfree.invalid.com/forums/Texas/index.php?showtopic=8677

Long Live The Great Region of Texas!

Hey Indian Empire we should renovate the TRC chambers before the rest of the council members show up.

I can do good with zetaboards, I could create a whole forum for us.

Anyone else watch the Kyle Field Implosion today?

Dear Texas-

I have put in the first new change involving the TRC. If you see something like trolls, mongols, raiders in our fine region, something we need to do (if we haven't already). I have created a thread for this on our forums. Feel free to put it there.
