**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new Security Council Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Condemn General Halcones
A resolution to express shock and dismay at a nation or region.

Category: Condemnation Nominee: General Halcones Proposed by: Nephmir

Description: The Security Council,

Recognizing General Halcones as"...

<see page=sc for full text>

Great, The World Assembly is back at condemning invaders. Ugh! Todays' loser is General Halcones, founded in September, 2010, but with hundreds, if not thousands, of puppets, who know when they really showed up?. We have never communicated with them directly to our knowledge. Like the last scumbag, apparently, they the are some big poobah in the invader community - TBR version. They probably should be condemned. But they would probably like that. We think invaders want Condemnations to wear as a shiny badge of badassness. We think most will agree that no one wants to reward a douchebag for being a douchebag. We don't. Invaders suck. NewTexas will go on record as AGAINST on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was up on the last SC vote -- Condemn Lazarus -- which was defeated after gaining only 20.64% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 6 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 0 FOR and 6 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were unanimous! Yay!

Note: NewTexas has already voted on this Resolution in advance of publicly expressed opinions. We did this at the urging of many leaders in the World Assembly. As we have been saying for years, Texas is a force in the WA. Many feel that Texas can influence the overall vote if it votes first. There is an observed "lemming effect" that occurs during voting. Apparently a large number of votes are cast based on whichever side of the issue is leading when voters vote. Therefore, to get the most impact from our vote, we are now voting first. We will re-evaluate our original vote at midnight prior to the current vote. As always, we are open to suggestions on how we should vote on this Resolution to most accurately reflect opinion of the populace. Comments are welcome from all nations, both WA Members as well as those who are not. Please make your voice heard on the current issue either on this message board or on our offsite message board. But, by all means, please vote on the WA Page!

If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it.

All WA Member nations please vote. Please make your opinions known in Texas by 11:00pm Thursday and in the World Assembly voting booth by 11:00am Texas Time on Friday the 14th. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 2328 Votes AGAINST: 1464

Big Tex

PS: Remember, be sure to vote at the World Assembly too!

At the moment the TX voting is split 50-50 on the SC resolution. We tied it up with our vote AGAINST the resolution. Will be interesting to watch the results.

We shall vote against the SC resolution

It's a worthy cause, so I thought... why not?

I want to lower tax rates while at the same time keeping freedoms high. Time will tell if those are mutually exclusive goals or not.

Every time I lower taxes something bad happens. First time I cut taxes caused my crime to skyrocket, even though crime wasn't part of the issue, and the other time my political freedoms dropped.

I'll have a chicken sausage and biscuit please!

I'm fortunate to keep my taxes below 80% :P

I'm down to 19% tax rate and would like to try and get it to 0% but I don't want my country turning into a third world country.

Airship armada

At this point, there's no way I'm getting my taxes down to a reasonable level.

At least, not without losing free healthcare, college education, public transit, low poverty levels, and a rather large airship fleet.

**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new Security Council Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Repeal "Commend Luna Amore"
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal Resolution: SC#123 Proposed by: Ramaeus

Description: WA Security Council Resolution #123: Commend Luna Amore shall be struck out"...

<see page=sc for full text>

Ok, now this one is just mean. When this one came around in November, 2013, Texans were pretty much for it by a vote of 6 for, 1 against and 1 abstain. As we mentioned then, we have known Luna Amore, through their Texas puppet, [Sole Amore], for over 8 years now. They have always been very nice and quite helpful to both us and Texas on numerous occasions. And we are pretty confident that it is not just Texas and NewTexas thay have been nice too, but others as well. We think this repeal is unnecessary and unneeded. NewTexas will go on record as AGAINST on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was up on the last SC vote -- Condemn General Halcones -- which was passed after gaining 71.55% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 7 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 2 FOR and 4 AGAINST and 1 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were kind of split on that one.

All WA Member nations please vote. Please make your opinions known in Texas by 11:00pm Friday and in the World Assembly voting booth by 11:00am Texas Time on Saturday the 22nd. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 2982 Votes AGAINST: 1190
