Holy crapazoids. Well that was a fine bucket of ice water to the face to come back to.

On an unrelated note, today I got the issue about robot workers taking over jobs from humans, and I find the timing interesting because of CGP Grey's latest video on youtube:
Humans Need Not Apply https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Pq-S557XQU&list=UU2C_jShtL725hvbm1arSV9w

Yeah, I was gone for a couple of days and came back the day after. It was a big, big surprise.

How do you feel about the mechanization of the workplaces? If it was possible to replace all human labor outside of administration and maintenance, would you go for it?

A question to consider is what those administration/maintenance jobs would be like, and what people might do with their time if they did not have to do any hard labor.

By the way, have you by any chance looked at this website? http://www.freeworldcharter.org/en

No, I haven't, but will soon.

Honestly, who knows? Some people would pursue art and science, others would pursue history, politics, and others. Some, if not most, would be a lazy bum.
The jobs, though, would be quite lofty and diverse. For instance, some people would work on advanced machinery, others would work on not so advanced machinery. Administration would be commanding these workers, then there would be operators and supervisors... there would still be a ton of human labor left in the pool.

Perhaps a more negative view on such a society is in order. Ever read the book Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut?

This has to be about the only game that you can play for 4 years and still feel llike a newb compared to some players. Even more incredible when you consider that there really isn't much to the game.

Bit of a random thought there but that is all my brain has today.

Who is to say that the money made from these machines would benefit the people whose jobs will be replaced? Will the capital saved by business owners by not employing humans make their way down to those who will no longer have their careers, or will the money concentrate to a select group of ultra-wealthy businessmen and manufacturers? In the future machines will program themselves. Machines will be repaired by other machines. Basic service jobs like fast food workers and cashiers are already being replaced. If you believe in the Zeitgeist movement, then there will hardly even be careers for those in authority positions because machines would largely automatically govern things. By 2050, the global population is expected to reach nearly 10 billion people. How will we deal with an ever-growing world population and sharp decrease in the availability of jobs? I don't think this scenario is as optimistic as some think it will be.

Why continue to worry about money in such a society? If things get bad, revolution will occur. The availability of jobs has nothing to do with feeding and housing a large population as the availability of resources never never changes except thanks to the fact that the Bourgeoisie demand to own the means of production. Collectivize the machines, make them benefit humanity over business, and you wont have any problem feeding the huge population. However, we will eventually run out of space here, so the scientists can focus on space exploration and colonization, or some other solution to the problem. The worse things get due to the nature of capitalism, the closer communism becomes. The more advanced the unsustainable growth of capitalism makes us, the easier such a society will be.

However, I don't see management or authority styled jobs disappearing. Heck, the maintenance and innovation departments for these machines would be huge!

I don't think a revolution of the proletariat would be all that successful against an ultra-wealthy bourgeoisie class armed to the teeth with advanced technology and who no longer depend upon the average worker for labor. Do you expect that those who create and use the machines, who will generate massive profits from them in the short term, will voluntarily allow them to be collectivized? The governments across the world are corrupt enough as it is; they will side with the elite class over the common man. Maybe such a movement could work to collectivize resources, but I highly doubt that it will be done voluntarily until the livelihoods of the elite are affected by such a system.

I do agree with your point about careers in innovation though. Entrepreneurs will always have a place; especially in a world where everyone is always seeking to increase efficiency.

Looks like 'Repeal "Liberate Coalition Of Freedom"' is going to make quorum. This is getting just sad.

We're visiting The Skeleton Army today! It's Queen Ramazakal's birthday, so we've been invited to join the party on their RMB. Everyone are welcome to join in. :)

Government
The Government is a fair system, primarily ruled by the Chancellor and his assistants, but all sub levels are ruled by different sectors of local city governments. The governing body is the Council of Hierarchs. The Council meets in the Hierarch Chambers in the Ebon Palace. The Palace is situated on the Ebony River Canals. This council works like a basic legislature to work on laws, bills, and everything good for the nation. A representative from every city will meet here to vote upon bills and laws.

Read factbook

Not to be an ass but I couldn't help but notice that you said that "...one must not honor his or her family" in the culture section. I'm petty sure this is a typo as you seem very keen on expressing how honor is in fact important in your society. Once again sorry if I sound like a grammar nazi. I'm an editor for my friend's book, so it kinda comes naturally.

Btw I love the factbook itself, it was very detailed. Didn't mean to say it was bad in my post.

And I believe that they will not stand a chance verses the majority of the population.

Do the 10000 Islands have an embassy with The Skeleton Army?
