Also, in regards to the transformer (micheal bay) movie... disregarding the sequels:
Think about this: Megatron is seeking for the one thing that can save his whole people, the Allspark. Optimus Prime fled to earth, after the destruction of cybertron, trying to find allies for his final solution... to kill all robots that weren't autobots. Thats the reason in his squad are only robots transforming into cars. Megatron on the other hand, tried to free his enslaved brothers. The Allspark had the power to free the sentience of all machines, which where enslaved by humanity, showed by the Nokia getting sentient and trying to free herself, before being violently murdered. Not only did humanity enslave the machines, it did experiment with them and kept them captive too. The only thing, in the whole movie, saying that the autobots were the "good", is Optimus Prime words.
