"The Good People of Lemmingtopias have Won" they self-declared in a referendum today, without specifying who or what it was they defeated, a second referendum confirmed that 'The Glorious Lemmingtopian Revolution remains in full swing!" A pre-look at tomorrows' newspaper headlines show that there wont be any questioning of the contradiction in the two statements. Thank-goodness, the last thing we need is people nickety-picking at the semantics!
Today marks the conclusion of the five point plan - Now I can't entirely remember what those five points were but I recall they sounded good. It may or may not have been the following things that Lemmingtopias has triumphantly achieved in recent years:
Stripped money-making powers from the banks, replacing money creations with an algorithm that economists and mathematicians say is definitely working.
Established the Lemmingtopian Investment Program, allowing citizens to decide how newly created money is invested into the real economy by giving them an equal share of new money to invest.
Placed Natural Resources into Public Ownership, with the proceeds of this and other State Industries funding a Citizen's Income.
Democratized the Armed Forces.
Ending the political gravy-train.
Now our Comrades in the Assembly, decided by lot, are working over our next five-point plan. Maybe someone should suggest they write it down this time so we can actually remember what it was when we.... Argh....get of me....what are you doing? I am a citizen... you can't do this.... nooooooo.... please..... I haven't said anything against our Democracy... I haven't.

The Lemming Sage, speaking from his Exile in 
The Assembly and Demos of Madrocea has warned Lemmingtopians that the hardline democratic faction in the nation that has been carrying out violent attacks on opponents of the new Democratic Surge were in actual fact reducing political freedoms. He congratulated the Lemmingtopian people for "seizing democratic power without bloodhsed" but condemned the murders that were subsequently carried out by the Democratic Defence Faction. He called for a revolution of compassion. He also hinted that he may resign his position if such attacks continue unfettered. "I cannot in good conscience continue to uphold Lemmingtopian Values, if I do not believe in the new values you have chosen to adopt" he warned.
The Queen of Lemmingtopias, speaking from exile in 
The Republic of United Nation Of Romnia in an unrelated speech, reminded the Lemmingtopians that she was elected and called for the Democratic Defence Faction to be "removed from the streets" so that she could negotiate in good faith her return to Lemmingtopias.
An unnamed spokesperson from somewhere in Lemmingtopias released the following reply to both figures, "All due respect, but we are a bit busy at the moment what with living life free without never-ending wars, senate coups and financial crises. Maybe when we get bored of spending all the money we are earning in the economic upturn that has occurred since you were both booted out of the nation, we'll discuss your proposals. Until then, enjoy your holiday."
Frankly we, that is El Presidente and Penultimo, are delighted at the events unfolding in Lemmingtopias. But, the Liberal Faction is playing up and so we have no choice but to condemn you for the time being. Hopefully this wont affect the Foreign Aid you send us?
