Hey, I was planning on finally finishing up the civil war. Would you guys prefer to get organized on the forum and do it there, or do the RPing in the RMB after organizing, or just doing the whole thing here?
Since I just realized how long it's been since the event, I'll make an introductory summary at a later point for new members of the region. In the meantime, Alicorns' Factbook contains a nice summation of the political situation here.

It'll be taking place on Quintolanian territory. As it's been ravaged by civil war, the government has become practically bankrupt, so no attempt was made to explore the stars. As such, the fighting will likely be confined to a single part of a single planet.
I apologize for the delay on an opening post, but I recently got a new computer and have been working a lot, so I've been a little pressed for time. I'll have something up by tonight.

I've updated the OP with some info on major factions. I didn't want to go into too much detail as it's more fun to flesh them out while doing the real thing. As usual, feel free to telegram me with questions or suggestions. I'd also like to try to get a headcount of who would be interested in participating, so I can figure out how big this is going to be and so we can keep everyone's characters straight.
I'll try to participate if it's in the RMB like our previous RPs (and with a similar level of not-taking-ourselves-too-seriously). Otherwise, not really worth the effort. I mean, the Firefighting War only got started because I felt like making one smartass comment.
It was probably gonna be an RMB thing anyway, just wanted to knock summer dust off of the off site forum. And I don't actually know how to do a serious RP, so you're safe there.
I'm not much of a RP player, but, depending on the subject, I might participate.

I'll probably convert it back after they update it so rural areas have pokemon too. But as long as they make it impossible for me to play legit, I guess I'm just gonna hafta hack.
The courier runs. He runs so fast that the cloud of dust he's kicking up behind him seems to follow him around like the path created by one of those bikes from Tron. (Lightcycles, right?). He ducks through mazes of houses, quickly reaching the shantytowns of displaced citizens who had started quartering Ragnus's troops before those troops simply decided to eject them altogether. He enters a sewer at a manhole that seems identical to the hundreds of others throughout Gunslinger Town, and begins to navigate his way through the tunnels, taking lefts and rights seemingly at random. Soon enough, he finds himself face to face with a rather unremarkable rusty door. He knocks, three quick hits followed by a pause and then two more. A peephole slides open, and two bloodshot eyes look into his own. Their owner grunts and the door opens.
This is the headquarters of the Phoenix. Situated right under the enemy's nose. The courier makes a beeline for the barracks, heading to the most opulently furnished wing at the end. He has an urgent message for Flamicus himself, you see. Luckily for him, Flamicus is relaxing in an overstuffed sofa that was looted from a raid on a supply train several weeks ago. He hastily confers in hushed tones with the courier, sends him on his way, and immediately calls for an emergency meeting. The courier heads out of the compound with heavier pockets and a full stomach, and goes out the door with a ittle skip in his step. He gets about three of them in before a shadow looms behind him and everything goes black, but not befor ehe sees the emblem of a foamy wave on the belt of his attacker.
He wakes up tied to a chair in what appears to be a simple wooden room. There area few tables scattered wround, but no chairs of any kind. Farther than that, he is unable to see, as all the illumination available is one uncovered lightbulb hanging directly above his head. SOmeone approaches. He recognizes the wave emblem on the belt.
"You delievered information to the False Prophet."
"Who?"
Pain. Blood. Tooth feels loose
"Speak only when spoken to."
The courier is silent.
"Good. What was your message?"
"Please! If I tell you, they'll know I betrayed them! They'll kill me!"
"There are fates worse than death."
Pain. More blood. Tooth comes loose.
"OK, OK, I'll talk. Ragnus is planning something big. He's recalled all his troops from all those little countryside skirmishes to gather at the capital. I hear he has some new intel or something, something that'll help him end this war for good."
"When will this operation take place?"
"I'd say he needs at least three days before everyone gets here, maybe another day to dictate plans and give orders, but that's it."
"Good. Aquaticus will be pleased. Goodbye."
"Wait, what about letting me go?"
"Oh, of course. How silly of me."
Bang. Flash of light. Smoke.
"Your spirit is free to enter the next plane. Ciao."
The light flickers and goes off.
Wait wait. You can't find Pokemon in long grass!?
One thing I am pretty sure has remained consistent over the course of the main series is that wild Pokemon are usually found in the wilderness. And not in cities.
I can understand having wild Pokemon also show up inside cities for practical reasons (for many modern video game players, the outdoors might as well be an unexplored hinterland for how often they go there), but having Pokemon not be encountered where they should logically exist is... amazingly idiotic.
(If supporting the entire surface area of Earth - not just land area, people on a cruise or something should be able to find Water-types at least - would cause problems with needing to generate too many Pokemon to keep track of, I'd just have it operate Schroedinger's Meowth style. A given location neither does nor doesn't have a Pokemon in it until a Pokemon Go player goes over and checks. Again, that's just the sensible way to implement this kind of thing and it's stupid if they're not doing it that way.)
