I must also admit that I don't usually think of wine in the morning...! it's just that brewing breakfast coffee for example isn't a local speciality, as the climate doesn't allow growing it at all. However I've gone over to one of the small German fair trade coffee roasters, and brought a selection.

If you ask for 'Brötchen' in German-speaking countries, the bakers should understand what you're asking for. Depending on where you are, the locals may call their breakfast rolls Semmeln or Weckle, Weggli in Switzerland, or in the area of Berlin they may say Schrippen. If you stay somewhere for longer, you'll pick up the local usage for this very important breakfast item.

How's it going in your region?
Ich versteh garnicht warum so eine Aufregung um so eine partielle Finsternis gemacht wurde. Es wurd nichtmal wirklich merklich dunkler. Wenn mans nicht gewusste hätte, wärs selbst bei wolkemlosen Wetter wie hier wahrscheinlich garnicht aufgefallen. Macht ja auch keinen nen Aufriss für Venustransite obwohl die astronomisch mindestens genauso interesant sind :P
