Gday Mates

Brexit.....I am concerned about the personal toll on people that now feel displaced.
Lots of economics, politics, fracturing of Europe to worry over, but it starts and ends with this.

Initially I was anti-brexit due to the fact that when I eventually get UK citizenship (half my family is born in England so it would be easier for me) I wouldn't mind if that was EU citizenship too.

Now that Britain has left though, it could be good for us too. (Australians)

The fact that people believed what Johnson said over economic experts is why there is an economic crisis, and not just in the UK. Australia is feeling the pain too.

Yep although I fear that people are very stupid and will vote Liberal/National again

Hey, guys. Sorry, I've not had as reliable a computer as I might have liked the past few days. Anyways, on the issue of Brexit, I think we can see from what it's done to the economy that it's not the best. Yes, Britain might get to control its own borders. But Northern Ireland and Scotland are threatening to break away, and make those borders look a whole lot different.

Unfortunately, even though people are stupid.
There is nothing we can do because we live in a democracy.
Even stupid people have rights in a democracy.
For that matter, rapists and murderers also have voting rights.

All we can hope for is that the majority is "normal".

True I just don't like the way the media portray it as a two party race all the time.

And minor parties often don't face full scrutiny for their policies. Case in point, Family First have a policy of a flat rate income tax of 20% for all workers. This is utterly insane and would ruin the economy as well as make many homeless, as even those on minimum wage suddenly lose 20% of their pay.

That sounds crazy

Plain salt for me please.

This election is insane.

At least the local candidate I voted won. Probably one of the few labor seats in WA.

Oh well 3 more years of economy going backwards.

I'm not optimistic that the next election will change things in three years time either.
