Lower Nubia wrote:Terror Attack and Insurgency in the Republic of Lower Nubia, 23rd-24th March, 2024

Statement by the Ministry of Defence

"At 03:00, on the 23rd March, the Ministry of Defence begins a media blackout in central Port of Halayeb to reduce reporting of military forces build up and locations which could be used by the Insurgents to ambush or choose targets.

At 03:47, on the same date, the Armed Forces and Police began a series of targeted military raids on multiple locations both in Napata and Port of Halayeb in response to credible intelligence reports of filibuster by RANF organisers, under Commander Sipho Abimbola, alongside members of the Nubians Unite! party, to attack and seize the Republic's administrative buildings and state functions. However, failure in responding to an investigation by the Halayeb State Police meant that RANF was able to prepare sooner and proceed earlier than anticipated in Halayeb State, and although several of the raids managed to arrest and disrupt RANF activities in Halayeb, much of the expected group had already left. However, the raids in Napata were successful.

At 06:30, RANF groups and supporters which managed to escape raids by Halayeb State Police throughout the 12th-22nd March, and then the Military raid early on the 23rd, travelled from areas across the city of Port of Halayeb in armed convoys of 'Technicals' (makeshift armed vehicles). They then seized the Administrative building of Halayeb State as well as Police Headquarters (HQ), and blocked off roads to much of the city centre, in an initial fire fight with Police which then retreated - but sustained fatalities. An intelligence report estimated a force of 240 individuals as well as 26 vehicles as part of the RANF network on the 22nd March, with 19 individuals arrested and 2 vehicles seized between the 3:45 and 6:30 raid, leaving ~221 insurgents and ~24 vehicles.

At 07:30, Operation Daimyo, established 22nd March in anticipation for a possible insurgency, involving the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Mechanised Rifle Company (MRC) of the 2nd Mechanised Rifle Brigade (Total of 24 Officers, 375 Enlisted. 15 BMP-2, 27 BTR-80, 3 BTR-80 Command Vehicle (R-145BM1), and 3 HX40M Trucks), as well as Police Officers from Halayeb State Police, began the move onto the administrative buildings, police headquarters, and other seized security positions. Vehicles were assigned supporting roles at a platoon level to minimise the effectiveness of insurgent ATGM attacks. The 1st MRC, under Captain Samih Lisan, moved to the administrative building of Halayeb (but not to enter), where it was believed Commander Sipho Abimbola was orchestrating their forces. The 2nd MRC, under Captain Nabih Al-Gaib, was to secure the Police HQ (but not enter), and the 3rd MRC, under Shai Hulud, moved to secure retreat points from the Police HQ and Administrative building, and other buildings. This essentially encircled the centre of the city.

At 08:26 the first reports of a firefight were recorded when members of the 2nd MRC as well as police forces were attacked by combatants of the Seized Police HQ, this Republic forces maintain a presence in buildings adjacent to the HQ with firing positions on the roof and upper level of the precinct. Commander Sipho Abimbola made aware that the insurgent forces held 43 hostages - 18 in the Police HQ and the rest in the Administrative building. Sipho demanded that the current government dissolve and cede power to RANF and Nubian's Unite! to bring about freedom for all true Africans - stating that hostages would be killed should the demand fail to be met.

At 9:30 a surprise attack by Insurgents, armed with ATGMs, on a Platoon of the 3rd MRC, who were securing a road to the Police HQ, resulted in the loss of 3 track vehicles and 6 KIA. Another surprise attack at 11:01, which also resulted in the loss of 2 vehicles and 5 fatalities, precipitated the order for the 2nd MRC to enter the Halayeb Police HQ.

At 11:05 the 2nd MRC began to enter the Police HQ - reports indicated heavy fire from both sides and a serious loss of life, with fighting lasting ~3 hours, but included the capture of the assigned insurgent leader Christiaan Biko. The assault on the Police HQ resulted in the largest loss of life of Operation Daimyo, with 16 soldiers of the 2nd MRC killed in action, including the loss of 7 of 18 hostages. However, the bloody nature of the fight and the extent to which Nubian Forces engages is likely what precipitated initial talks between Sipho Abimbola and the Republic's forces.

At 13:01 the fighting for the Halayeb Police HQ came to a close, with the insurgent forces surrendering after a bloody 3 hour fight, which resulted in the deaths of 29 Nubian soldiers, 7 Hostages, and 78 Insurgents.

At 15:31 the 3rd MRC moved from securing positions of retreat from the Police HQ to entirely encircling the city administrative building alongside the 1st MRC, and were then to prepare for an assault with the 1st MRC on the administrative building - if called.

At 20:53 Insurgents of the Administrative building were given an ultimatum by the 1st and 3rd MRC, with which they had 12 hours to vacate the building, hand over 14 hostages, and surrender, or face forced entry.

At 07:24 on the 24th March, after several incidents of firing between Nubian Armed Forces, Halayeb State Police, and the Insurgents, a surrender was ordered by Insurgent leaders and the occupying groups and hostages left the building into the custody of the 2nd MRC.

By 12:52 of the 24th March, all combatants had been accounted for, and had either surrendered or been killed in action. Members of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd MRC maintained a cordoned area of the city under temporary martial law to return stability to the city and make way for emergency services to tend to the wounded, secure explosives devices and fires, and begin a clean up operation.

At 00:00 on the 27th March, the Ministry of Defence declared the area secure and allowed civilians back into the city centre as well as removing the temporary media blackout, however, the Armed Forces maintain a heavy presence across the city, and will for some time.

This represents the most significant terror attack on the Republic in its history, and the loss of lives would have been higher without the mobilisation of the servicemen of the 2nd Mechanised Rifle Company due to the United Arab Federation Civil War. As such, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Interior Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the countries Intelligence Services will be undergoing serious review to ensure such events do not happen again.

The March 23rd Terror Attack and those who died to defend against that terror will be remembered, the President will be making an announcement on the incident and those lost to the tragedy as well as those Nubian's stepping up to defend the Republic."

Terror Attack and Insurgency in the Democratic States of Bro’Kinaba, 24-27th March, 2024

Statement by the Federal Police Service of Bro’Kinaba Counter-terrorism unit

"On the 24th of March, the Federal Police Service of Bro’Kinaba with the help of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, begins a Terror Advisory after the attack in Lower Nubia and Transvaal to stop people from gathering in large crowds and locations which could be used by the Insurgents to commit terror attacks.

At 4:19 PM, on the same date, the RANF began a series of targeted bomb threats on multiple locations both in Gedoopstad International Airport and Port of Livingstone in response to credible surveillance along the Gedoopstad-Livingstone highway, Bomb squads defused 2 bombs and remotely detonated 4 others.

At 06:30 AM, March 27th RANF groups and supporters which managed to escape raids by Federal Police Service of Bro’Kinaba throughout the 12th-26th of March, travelled from areas across the highway to the city of Ndola in armed convoys of 'Technicals' . They then attempted to siege the Bro’Kinaba Land Production Facility as well as Railway into Ndola, and attempted off roads to much of the city centre. This resulted in an initial fire fight with Police and local Army garrison which then repelled the attack - but sustained serious injuries. An intelligence report estimated a force of 3137 individuals as well as 65 vehicles as part of the RANF network on the 27th March, with 521 individuals arrested and 1 vehicle seized between the raids, leaving ~2616 insurgents and ~64 vehicles.

At 07:30 AM, Operation Strike Hard, established in 24th March in anticipation for a possible insurgency and terror attack, Federal Police Service of Bro’Kinaba Counter-terrorism unit (CTU) of the Northern Bro’Kinaba precinct (Total of 450 Officers. 25 HMMWV’s, 1 Bro-99 MBT Urban Modular, and 3 MRAP Trucks), along with a couple of civilians attacking the terrorists in the areas they tried to take, as well as Drone support from the BKAF in the form of 20 Koplose Kopnemer-1 UB UAV’s. They began the move onto the highways cutting them off from traffic, and than they would move into the streets of the city to push them into the highway, and other seized security positions. Vehicles other than the single MBT were assigned supporting roles at a platoon level to minimise the effectiveness of insurgent ATGM attacks. The Counter Terror Unit, under Captain Marni Khan, moved to the outskirts of the city with Drone Strikes being conducted on areas where insurgents could not be easily flushed out, where it was believed the RANF was orchestrating their forces. The 2nd Platoon of the company, under Captain Bukata Lew, was to secure the highway, and the 3rd Platoon of the company, under Payor Hulled, moved to secure retreat points of the city, and other buildings. This essentially encircled the centre city and RANF forces apart from a hole at the highway.

At 08:26 AM the first reports of a firefight were recorded when members of the 3rd platoon company were attacked by retreating combatants of the city, the States forces attacked the forces in the city to force them to focus there attack on the highway. The counter Terror Unit was made aware that the insurgent forces held a total of 43 hostages - all of them spread though-out. RANF members demanded that the current government dissolve and cede power to RANF to bring about freedom for all true Africans - stating that hostages would be killed along the way should the demand fail to be met.

At 9:30 AM a large attack by Insurgents, armed with ATGMs and heavy arms, on a Platoon of the 2nd Unit, who were securing the highway to the city, resulted in the loss of 2 HMMWV vehicles and 2 KIA. Another attack at 11:01 happened at the highway but was repelled, precipitated the order by the government, for Drone strikes and the single Bro-99 MBt.

At 11:05 AM the BKAF began to strike terrorists that where now out in the open with Lig Teen missiles - reports indicated heavy fire from both sides as they desperately tried to flee the kill box
and a serious loss of life, with fighting lasting a pitiful 8 minutes, but included the death of of the assigned RANF Bro’Kinaba insurgent leader. The assault on the highway resulted in the largest loss of life of Operation Strike hard, with 1 police officer of the unit killed in action and 7 others wounded by friendly fire, including the loss of 43 of 43 hostages. However, the bloody nature of the fight caused what few who survived to surrender.

At 11:17 AM the fighting for Ndola came to a close, with the insurgent forces destroyed after a bloody 8 minute fight, which resulted in the deaths of 3 Bro’Kinaban police, all of the Hostages, and 2611 Insurgents with only 5 left alive with many of the insurgents unrecognizable due to the furry of the fight.

At 11:17 AM the 1st unit moved from attacking to securing bodies.

At 7:11 PM on the 27th March, in Gedoopstad two explosions, one on a fuel tank at Gedoopstad international airport was reported, another on the southern face of the University of Bro’Kinaba building were reported, no one was injured in these attacks, with the RANF being blamed.

At turn of the day on the 28th March, the Federal Police service of Bro’Kinaba declared Ndola secure and allowed civilians back into the city as well as removing the temporary Terror warning, however, the Armed Forces and Police force maintain a heavy presence at the highway collecting evidence, and will for some time.

This represents the most significant terror attack on the State since the Islamic State of Tete terror attacks, and the loss of lives would have been higher without the mobilisation of the BKAF due to the NE-BK war. As such, the Ministry of Defence, the Federal Police Service of Bro’Kinaba, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the countries Intelligence Services will be undergoing serious review to ensure such events do not happen again, along with investigations on why hostages where not reported to be in the crowd that was struck.

The March 27th Terror Attack and those who died to defend against that terror will be remembered, the President will be making an announcement on the incident and those lost to the tragedy as well as those Bro’Kinabans stepping up to defend the Republic and a apology to the families of hostages."

RANF rallying

Recently a shocking turn of events has happened as after the events of the march 27th terror attack the RANF have begun a massive rally with them somehow being able to hack into Transvaall's most popular news network and broadcasting their message and it has been seen that this hack has spread into Bro Kinaba, Lower Nubia and Zamorika news networks in a shocking act, it can be assumed that they have been using political connections to get through security of these networks and these event have caused significant turmoil amongst the population. The following is the speech of the rally by Dikembe Nkrumah Abara:

"Greetings, citizens of the world, heed my call as I stand before you today to extend an invitation to join the Radical African National Front (RANF). Do you yearn for glory? Do you crave power? Do you seek unwavering conviction? Look no further, for the RANF embodies these very principles.

You may have witnessed recent attacks on your nations and labeled us as monsters. But I ask you, who truly sows chaos and destruction? Is it not your own government's soldiers, agents of oppression who trample upon your freedoms, inflicting pain and suffering in the name of preserving their feeble, decaying regimes? They serve ideologies dictated by fat-cat millionaires, who would crumble under the weight of a real day's labor.

Do you feel the weight of helplessness bearing down upon you, shackled by the chains of servitude to inept and corrupt leadership? Do you long for vengeance, or yearn to forge a path to true strength, emancipated from the clutches of feeble-minded governance? Then join us, join the RANF, where true power awaits.

Embrace the call to revolution! Rise against your oppressors, cast off the chains of subjugation, and unleash the fury of change upon the world. Stand with us, and together, we shall shatter the shackles of tyranny, paving the way for a new era of liberation and empowerment.

Join the RANF, and become the architects of your own destiny. Let us forge a future where the weak-minded tremble in the face of our resolve, where the oppressed rise up as champions of their own liberation. Together, let us ignite the flames of revolution and usher in a new dawn of justice for all."

Effects of the Speech
The fervor of the RANF rally has ignited a flame within the hearts of many, particularly among the youth who yearn to carve out their own destinies. Recent reports have surfaced of widespread protests erupting across the nation, driven by a collective desire to support the RANF and compel governments to relinquish their grip on power. From bustling urban centers to remote rural communities, the clamor for change reverberates, with some protests swelling to over 500 impassioned individuals.

As the momentum of these demonstrations swells, there is a palpable sense of urgency. Without prompt government intervention, these peaceful protests risk spiraling into full-blown riots, fraught with the potential for violence and unrest.

In response to the escalating situation, Transvaall has taken decisive action, mobilizing its police forces and equipping them with non-lethal equipment and armored personnel carriers (APCs). The objective is clear: to maintain peace and order while respecting the rights of protesters to voice their grievances.

Deployed across protest hotspots, officers stand ready to engage in dialogue with protest leaders, urging them to disband the gatherings peacefully. Through open communication and a commitment to de-escalation, Transvaalli authorities aim to mitigate tensions and prevent the situation from descending into chaos.

OOC: The effects of the speech has now also Happened in Lower Nubia, Zamorika and Bro Kinaba. They will have to handle the protest with care lest they make the situation dire and further bolster the RANF and cause your country to further destablize.

March 23rd Massacre and Presidential Statement, 27th March, 2024

Statement by the President of the Republic of Lower Nubia

"When the Republic was founded 7 years ago, we, as a people, were committed to building a free and prosperous society for all. A society which grew and developed and was renewed through our hands and our efforts. The Republic holds firmer on that now than 7 years ago, it holds that ideal tighter in times of strife and struggle and it will not give it up, not to anybody who tries to take it. I make this statement of hope and resolve to all Nubian's in the wake of the March 23rd Terror Attack, in the wake of a day requiring great sacrifice and and struggle by our people, a day that asked of our strength, and which we answered.

This message is to those Nubian's who now stand in the memory of the 171 who lost their lives in a national tragedy, a message of hope and love from across our Republic, and even the globe, that seeks to come to comfort and console the grief experienced. Words do not do justice, not even closely, of the depth of anguish felt by the loved ones of the 171 souls. We do what can be done, in that we weep with you, we pull our family close and do not let go, and say firmly to you what comfort we have, we will give you. This is a day of mourning for our Republic, but especially you - for which the Republic will give her all to ease your heavy burden.

This message is to those Nubian's who placed their lives on the line to end the bloodshed, to defend the innocent, and remove injustice, national heroes who responded with courage; our Armed Forces and Police, as well as civilians, who out of courage and love, helped people they had never met to find shelter, care, and safety at the risk of their own lives. The members of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Mechanised Rifle Company, as well as Halayeb State Police, and the citizens of Halayeb, have shown their true quality, the true Nubian heart - for which they are blessed of God.

This message is to those Nubian's who must now heal and make right what has been done, and assure for all of us that such an event should never happen again, that those responsible be bought to justice, that such actions be stopped before the loss of any life, and that we may live in a safer Republic for ourselves and our children.

Our Republic must now answer tough questions, we must seek to ensure that we are not again threatened and attacked like this. We must ensure we are prepared and ready for anything that stands against our people, our nation, our ideals. We must look inwardly and outwardly, to a wider world struggling as we have, and we must unite as a nation, and as a globe in defeating these common threats.

Already we have received an outpouring of support internationally, with the Republic of Khoikhoia, the Sultanate of The Afro-Arabian Morocogyr, and a personal visit by High King Buck and High Queen Consort Emma of the United Kingdoms of The Nebraska Republic; who have already given much to our aid. We are glad that the globe grieves with us, and is filled with sorrow as any Nubian is. Our doors are open to their kindness and support, and we work closely with them to bring about peace.

March 23rd is a day of mourning, but it is also a day of celebration of the Nubian strength and resolve in adversity. We are not alone in our struggles, for God is with us Nubia! Love, prayer, strength, and courage are the souls of our people, and may God bless us for it. As God now calls to himself those lost, God blesses those here with a heavy heart, may He give us grace for peace and comfort and watch over our communities. May God Bless our communities, the Republic, and you all."

- Basil Bisharin, President of the Republic of Lower Nubia, in a press conference in the city centre of Port of Halayeb.
