But their contributions remained classified for decades, with many veterans taking the secret to their graves.
On Thursday, after many years of lobbying, they finally got public recognition — in the form of a Congressional Gold Medal, the highest honor the legislative body bestows.
Three Ghost Army veterans came to the U.S. Capitol to accept the award, surrounded by military and congressional leaders, lawmakers from both parties and relatives of Ghost Army members.
The award specifically honors the 23d Headquarters Special Troops, which carried out more than 20 "deception missions" near the front lines in France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany between June 1944 and March 1945, as well as its sister unit, the 3133 Signal Co. Special, which practiced sonic deception in Italy in 1945.
Present at Thursday's event were: 100-year-old Bernard Bluestein, who joined the visual deception unit from the Cleveland Institute of Art and went on to pursue a career in industrial design; 99-year-old John Christman, who served as a demolition specialist and 100-year-old Seymour Nussenbaum, an avid stamp collector who joined the Army from the Pratt Institute. He helped make the counterfeit patches worn by the unit, and worked in package design for many years after the war.

Vendera enters election season
Vendera is entering its election season, with the ruling party DVPP (Democratic Venderalese Political Party) holding its first rally. Many supporters of DVPP turned up in the Kenneth Stadium in the Capital, Sivilera, to show support for President Muveshe. Whilst delivering her speech at the rally earlier today, First Lady Nicole Muveshe caught national attention for her bold statement regarding those who won’t vote DVPP.
"My husband is the only right man for the job. Those who do not vote DVPP are mentally unstable.”, declared First Lady Nicole Muveshe.
However, opposition leader Walter Shamuyarira of VUPA (Vendera United Political Association) presented a contrasting narrative, highlighting concerns over rising unemployment and positioning VUPA as a reliable alternative with a long history of governance.
"The unemployment rate of this country has increased since Muveshe and DVPP came to power in 2020. VUPA has won many elections in the past, and it was the first party to rule this country. We are a trustworthy party," asserted Shamuyarira during a VUPA rally earlier today, in a nearby town Nakalivo, west of Sivilera.

“VUPA is DVPP’s main opposition, and Vendera is set for an interesting election season this year. The Union of Afro-Eurasian Alliances (UAA, French: Union des alliances afro-eurasiennes, UAA), also called the Afro-Eruasian Alliance, is an intergovernmental military alliance between 3 member states two African. Established in the aftermath of the Bro’Kinaban-Zimbabwe war, the organization implemented the UAA Treaty, signed in Gedoopstad, Capital Province. on 2023 September 30. UAA is a collective security system: its independent member states agree to defend each other against attacks by third parties. During the ongoing Cold War, UAA operates as a check on the threat posed by the CEDO Bloc. It has been involved in military operations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The organization's motto is “From Tokyo to Cape Town”.
UAA’s main headquarters are located in Gedoopstad, Bro'Kinaba, while UAA military headquarters are near Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The alliance has increased its UAA Response Force deployments worldwide and the combined militaries of all UAA members include around 1 million soldiers and personnel. Their combined military spending as of 2022 constituted around 30 percent of the global nominal total. Moreover, members have agreed to reach or maintain the target defence spending of at least two percent of their GDP by 2024.
UAA formed with two founding members and has added new members five times, UAA currently recognizes Zamorkia as aspiring observers.

Nuclear sharing is a concept in UAA’s policy of nuclear deterrence, which allows member countries without nuclear weapons of their own to participate in the planning for the use of nuclear weapons by UAA. In particular, it provides for the armed forces of those countries to be involved in delivering nuclear weapons in the event of their use. As part of nuclear sharing, the participating countries carry out consultations and make common decisions on nuclear weapons policy, maintain technical equipment (notably nuclear-capable airplanes) required for the use of nuclear weapons and store nuclear weapons on their territory.
All agencies and organizations of UAA are integrated into either the civilian administrative or military executive roles. For the most part they perform roles and functions that directly or indirectly support the security role of the alliance as a whole.
The civilian structure includes:
• The Afro-Euroasian Council (AEC) is the body which has effective governance authority and powers of decision in UAA, consisting of member states' permanent representatives or representatives at higher level (ministers of foreign affairs or defence, or heads of state or government). The AEC convenes at least once a week and takes major decisions regarding UAA's policies. The meetings of the Afro-Euroasian Council are chaired by the secretary general and, when decisions have to be made, action is agreed upon by consensus. There is no voting or decision by majority. Each state represented at the Council table or on any of its subordinate committees retains complete sovereignty and responsibility for its own decisions.
• The UAA Parliamentary Assembly (UAA PA) is a body that sets broad strategic goals for UAA, which meets at two session per year. UAA PA interacts directly with the parliamentary structures of the national governments of the member states which appoint Permanent Members, or ambassadors to UAA. The UAA Parliamentary Assembly is made up of legislators from the member countries of the Afro-Euroasian Alliance as well as some associate members. It is however officially a structure different from UAA, and has as aim to join deputies of UAA countries in order to discuss security policies on the UAA Council.
• UAA headquarters, located on Boulevard Léopold III/Leopold III-laan, B-1110 Gedoopstad, which is in the Federal City of Gedoopstad municipality. The staff at the Headquarters is composed of national delegations of member countries and includes civilian and military liaison offices and officers or diplomatic missions and diplomats of partner countries, as well as the International Staff and International Military Staff filled from serving members of the armed forces of member states. Non-governmental groups have also grown up in support of UAA, broadly under the banner of the African Defence Association movement.
The military structure includes:
• The Military Committee (MC) is the body of UAA that is composed of member states' Chiefs of Defence (CHOD) and advises the Afro-Euroasian Council (AEC) on military policy and strategy. The national CHODs are regularly represented in the MC by their permanent Military Representatives (MilRep), who often are two- or three-star flag officers. Like the council, from time to time the Military Committee also meets at a higher level, namely at the level of Chiefs of Defence, the most senior military officer in each country's armed forces. The MC is led by its chairman, who directs UAA's military operations. The operational work of the committee is supported by the International Military Staff
• Central Command Operations (UCENTCOM) is the UAA command responsible for UAA operations worldwide.
• The Rapid Deployable Corps include Afrocorps, I. Multinational Corps Middle east, and UAA Rapid Deployable Bro’Kinaban Corps among others, as well as naval High Readiness Forces (HRFs), which all report to Allied Command Operations.
• UAA Joint Training Command (UJTC), responsible for transformation and training of UAA forces.

Lower Nubia put forward a proposal under the CEDO Development Fund (CDF) for the investment in a Shipyard in the port city of 'Port of Halayeb' to help provide ship design, manufacturing, refit, and repair capabilities to the Co-Economic Defense Organization and her members. The Proposal was submitted for a 48 hour voting period on the 20th March, 2024, which closed on the 22nd March, 2024. The Proposal received the necessary support from member states and as such will be implemented as specified, this represents an important step in the CEDO's naval production capabilities."

Funding for the following facilities and construction in relation to a new Shipyard in Halai'b State:
a) Covered Drydock; 246x40x14 metres.

As well as facilities to maintain the function of a Shipyard such as: Dock side working platform, plasma cutting machines, steel processing and welding facilities, material handling equipment, cranes, logistics and storage facilities, High pressure water jet cleaning, Grit Blasting facility, Use of hydraulic elevators and scissor lifts for works, Dynamic balancing facilities, Repairs of all types of vessels (Drill rigs, Naval Vessels), Dedicated design department, and Large scale steel renewals.
The area of the site will be 0.49 km^2 and it will be located on the coast of the city of 'Port of Halayeb', with the shipyard hiring ~1400 staff, who will primarily come from the city of 'Port of Halayeb'. To justify and show compliance with CDF Articles, the Republic presents the proposal under Article 2(d) "Provides sustainable jobs, productivity of goods, and services". The proposal is estimated to come to a cost of $411 million, with $30.3 million of this going to a training and teaching facility to provide engineering, design, and construction skills necessary to build, repair, maintain, and refit vessels.
At this cost, it will leave $2,811 million for future CDF proposals until the 1st January, 2025. The project will take 1 month to build, and be completed by the 2024/05/01 (1st May, 2024).

After months of training, a team of Zunbai cosmonauts will be visiting the International Space Station in June 2024. The city of Mezol is well known for being the center of the mineral industry with several resources such as gold, iron, platinum and diamonds in limited forms and even a natural gas reserve not too far from the city, with an astounding 2,346,000 people (2023) living there in it's immediate area, and is also sometimes known as the ''industrial captial of CFT" which can be attributed to the heavy industries that lie within the area of the mines and due to this, it makes up around 1,34% of GDP, behind Rosnia City and Montielville in terms of contribution to GDP.
The County of Konta, which where Rosnia City resides, has drafted a bill to the Legislature of the government to build a high-speed railway between them and Mezol. The bill would be passed almost landslide-like, with 345 out of 410 representatives voting yes on the bill, 50 against and 15 abstaining, making it one of the biggest landslides in recent political Croydonian history. The budget would be agreed upon at CR 95 billion, and would be planned to take a minimum of 3 years up to 12. The proposed date to be completed would be, for the 12 year end, would be on July 12th, 2036. Construction will begin in August and will have a opening ceremony once it is completed. The project would partially aim for more job opportunities as the government is struggling with job creation.

Nebraskaland sends investment funds for rails in USM
