The Republic of Ziptron is a colossal, socially progressive nation, ruled by Zelleman Ziptronista with an even hand, and notable for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 6.211 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although Healthcare and the Environment are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of City of Words. The average income tax rate is 71%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

Morning coffees are no longer the same since the disappearance of newspapers, record sales of 'child-whacking sticks' have been reported, the Supreme Court vehemently protects civil rights and the right to privacy, and the poor are often seen pale and dizzy after selling their blood to make ends meet. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Ziptron's national animal is the house cat, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the beck.
