Marsio and the islands of irsinia

Hi guys, I quite don't get the RP here. Can someone please explain? Thank you very much!

Nhoor wrote:I think e.g. news and TWItter stories are ok as long as you don't include map countries yet (Aizcona?). It may take one or two weeks max to get on the map so in the meantime you can also work on your factbooks.

"Austrenya heroically stands in the Universe, extending to its four great stars, the glorious descendents of the Xin, the great azure river flowing through her great plains of sustenance, provided by the great Siaosiao Royarch for millions of myriads of years."

I've been discussing with New aapelistan via Discord throughout the morning, I brought up the question, "How do I stay with one idea of nation?", and he gave me an answer which I can only describe as eye-opening. My past six years on NS I've spent making nations where I know already about the history and culture it's based upon, and already know what I want to be. Italian history? Got that in the bag. German? Same. Even Dutch history I was pretty well-grounded in. So when I suddenly have this massive shift in how I want to play NS, I was like, "Well, I certainly love the Chinese warlord era, and don't really know a lot about China, and Weinam has now shifted, so that is why I have decided to take this shift.

I'm writing this long post because I am very aware the fact every other week I keep switching around and around with different ideas, and I have honestly never really figured out why until now. And sure, I know folks like Havalland, Almorea and probably even our gracious RPSec Aizcona are highly skeptical of this being my 'final shift', and honestly more power to you. Please be skeptical. It gives me much more motivation to stick with my idea.

I also plan to write a long post about how the Royarchy could fit into the Imperial War, and to make Vanc aware I'm discussing with Ains about the possibility of me running my own substitute RP Newsletter with my own twist to it.

Thanks for reading all this is you have and stay safe.

You didn't quite name the idea that New Aapelistan gave you but if I interpret it correctly, it is making a nation using elements you don't know already?

But it's not weird that you get tired of an idea. Even with people who manage to stick to the same project for a long time, boredom may set in at some point. I maintain as a personal rule though that I am not allowed to change a nation drastically. That's why I maintain several geofictional nations next to each other; when I get bored of Nhoor (it has happened twice or thrice already), I will work on another one of my countries. Sometimes inspiration is gone for some time and then I just focus on writing silly news articles or translating texts into my languages. Time will learn if all nations are viable (e.g. my other two nations on NS Yij (Yi) and Rakavo are still around but I don't do anything with them at the moment) and occasionally I will create a new nation that may or may not survive. It also depends on the project/company in which the nation ends up.

Shortly, what I said was that don't think of your nation as a plot (like Aus referred to it), but as a project with many different parts and things. When feeling bored, do something regarding a different topic.

I didn't say that he should use things that he knows or doesn't know, I said use things that interest you. Something that I personally love about NS and Aprosia is that it gives me a reason to learn more about varying things that are somehow included in my nation and ideas regarding my nation.

EDIT: To be honest with you and I don't know why, but I don't really know how to get my thoughts regarding this thing into words...

When you get a TG and think it’s someone wanting to join the Office of Recruitment but it’s the WA informing you about some dumb law

Dragao do mar and Nhoor

It's the 157th anniversary of JEB stuart's cavalry getting so hung up on trying to burn my hometown to the ground because we wouldn't hand over shoes and black residents that they completely forgot to show up in time for the battle of Gettysburg. This would be the northernmost part of PA they were able to reach, and hilariously they shot themselves in the foot by doing so.

Happy Canada day to my fellow countrymen.

There is also the Activity Monitor function in the Office of Information that is currently vacant (more or less; I actually forgot about this function and have been monitoring the nations on the map myself a bit, which was mostly expressed by me telling Vancouvia which nations have ceased to exist), if people are interested :)

What's the American equivalent to Skyss, Greyhound? I swear Skyss is the worst Norwegian buss company, they only operate city busses, yet they also have all the long-distance routes south of the Sognefjord, ugh.

Greyhound is probably your best bet yeah, but they don't do much within cities, more regional transit

Obligatory and completely uncalled for reminder that the President of our region is on record as agreeing that it's morally wrong for two same-sex parents to have a child of the opposite sex

I should have started this smear campaign pre-election but it's never too late to be a bitch

skyss are literally city busses doing regional transit on the worst roads in the country... With 4-5 departures a day...

Unexpected; the other way around would make more sense to me. But rest assured that this is not the official TWI government opinion.

I'd be somewhat conerned if the TWI government actually had an official opinion on the matter. Would have to be a very slow day at the office

I'd say that it's not useful for the TWI government to have an opinion on this or matters like these. But that's just my personal opinion :)

Exactly. But people do strange things at work when they have nothing to do and nobody's really watching them

I don't know your working environment but where I work, people also do strange things when they do have things to do and everybody is watching them :)

I'm just too lazy to do it in multiple sessions like Ostehaar in the past ;)

Remodio if I have some stamps collecting dust on my account, is there like a form recruitment TG I can send out? I'm not going to use them otherwise

That’s your own choice, if you want. Maybe you can campaign again for something 😂 but I’d ask Vancouvia or Balnik!
