TODAY IN THE WEST

Today is Haikuesday! Don't hesitate to show us your literary skills and talent in writing by coming up with great haikus.

Today is also National Love Is Kind Day. On this day, we celebrate independence and freedom from abusers and abusive relationships. This day is meant to raise awareness on how people treat each other, and recognise that love is kind - not dehumanising, terrorising, cruel or hurtful. If you don't yet know what to write haiku about, do try your hand at writing one about love, kindness and positive relationships. Alternatively, you can always simply share your thoughts on the topic.

Lots of good ones, but this made me laugh for a solid minute.

Yeah, and each state's laws are a little different. There are six states where doctors are required to report epileptics to the state, regardless of whether or not they can drive. So I will not bless them with my presence next time I move. The discriminatory states of California, Oregon, Nevada, Rhode Island, New Jersey, and Georgia are banjected from Westwind's destination list. ;)

A solid minute?
Can't they could be divided?

All you need to do is to select the answer to each Issue you receive in a way that you feel will promote your goal. However, be aware that Issue are often satirical, and may give you unexpected results (just like in RL).

Abuse may not be
Violence: sometimes it looks like
Controlling money,

Demeaning language,
Sexual coercion, or
Alienation.

Victims may not know
They are being abused, but
It's still illegal.

edit to add: I was formerly in an abusive relationship, and it looked so much like idealised fictional relationships that I didn't realise for a long time. Looking back, I can't believe it wasn't obvious: verbal, physical and sexual assaults, control of my social life and finances, etc. The effects will stay with me for life (though after about three years away I had stopped flinching whenever a man moved his arm).

Hello west Pacific hope everyone is having a terrific day

Fuentana wrote:A haiku in the spirit (and exact words) of Elegarth, also inspired by the rude awakening of the phone alarm today:

No no no no no
No no no no no no no
no no no just no

That is a great usage of my Haiku.

I think we need a name for it. Legendary artist name their Magnun Opus...

Hence, I rename this Haiku "Opus I: Confirmation"

TODAY IN THE WEST

Today is Wednesday, and it's Buffalo Soldiers Day. On this day in 1866, the first U.S. Army regiments comprising of African-American soldiers were formed after Congress passed the Army Reorganisation Act, shortly after the Civil War ended in 1865. Nowadays, we celebrate this historic event for diversity in the Army and in society on every July 28th. Feel free to share your thoughts with us on the matter and celebrate this important step that America took back then in advancing equality. You can read more about Buffalo Soldiers Day by using the link below to read an U.S. Army article on the topic.

Special Karaoke Friday Wednesday Song: Bob Marley - Buffalo Soldier
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eksV02us5DQ

[Verse 1]
Buffalo soldier, dreadlocked rasta
There was a Buffalo Soldier in the heart of America
Stolen from Africa, brought to America
Fighting on arrival, fighting for survival

I mean it, when I analyse the stench
To me it makes a lot of sense
How the dreadlocked rasta was a Buffalo Soldier

[Verse 2]
And he was taken from Africa, brought to America
Fighting on arrival, fighting for survival
Said it was a Buffalo Soldier, dreadlocked Rasta
Buffalo Soldier in the heart of America

[Verse 3]
If you know your history
Then you would know where you're coming from
Then you wouldn't have to ask me
Who the 'eck do I think I am

[Verse 4]
I'm just a Buffalo Soldier in the heart of America
Stolen from Africa, brought to America
Said he was fighting on arrival, fighting for survival
Said he was a Buffalo Soldier, in the war for America

Said he, woy yoy yoy, woy yoy-yoy yoy
Woy yoy yoy yoy, yoy yoy-yoy yoy!
Woy yoy yoy, woy yoy-yoy yoy
Woy yoy yoy yoy, yoy yoy-yoy yoy!

[Verse 5]
Buffalo Soldier troddin' through the land, wo-ho-ooh!
Said he want to ran and then you want a hand
Troddin' through the land, yea-hea, yea-ea

Said he was a Buffalo Soldier in the war for America
Buffalo Soldier, dreadlocked Rasta
Fighting on arrival, fighting for survival
Driven from the mainland to the heart of the Caribbean

Said he, woy yoy yoy, woy yoy-yoy yoy
Woy yoy yoy yoy, yoy yoy-yoy yoy!
Woy yoy yoy, woy yoy-yoy yoy
Woy yoy yoy yoy, yoy yoy-yoy yoy!

[Verse 6]
Trodding through San Juan
In the arms of America
Trodding through Jamaica, a Buffalo Soldier
Fighting on arrival, fighting for survival
Buffalo Soldier, dreadlock rasta

Woy yoy yoy, woy yoy-yoy yoy
Woy yoy yoy yoy, yoy yoy-yoy yoy!

Yeah... those are some rules applied so that the card game can be fairer for everyone. You can read more about trading cards in our guide to cards :)

Freedom of Speech is superior to censorship! I hope this region can understand the importance of letting everyone say what they want to say.

I agree. Butt idk what you mean)
Sounds like this region very radical and all time be on war. Oh, about that, in this game have a war? Or outside politic?

Why have you quoted a post from ten years ago?

We use suppression if a post breaks our Regional Message Board etiquette. And sometimes we don't even suppress the first time an offense is made, since we understand new players may take some time to understand the rules.
