GANG OF THREE RETALIATES, CLOSES EMBASSIES WITH LAZARUS ALLIES
Uniterra, Lazarus - At 2:05 AM EDT, Scum (also known as Lambstone of Lone Wolves United) ordered the withdrawal of embassies between Lazarus and the Rejected Realms and the South Pacific. Scum / Lambstone is one of the Gang of Three, a rogue administration that has assumed power in Lazarus over the past week with distinct ties to a longtime invader group, Lone Wolves United (LWU).

While this isn't the first time that embassies have been terminated - they were briefly closed in retaliation by Stujenske and the New Lazarus Order (NLO) during Lazarus' last coup, two years ago - the sight of embassies being closed between such storied partners will still come as a shock to many.
The alliance between the Rejected Realms and Lazarus is one of the oldest surviving diplomatic relationships in NationStates, spanning many different regimes, leaders and iterations of both regions. And although the relationship between the South Pacific and Lazarus is newer, TSP residents 
polled in June considered Lazarus one of their closest allies (behind only the Rejected Realms in that respect).
Lazarus' head of state in exile, Aumelodia, told the Lazarus Free Press that the exiled government condemns the decision as illegitimate and wrongheaded.
"I find it detestable that these embassies are being terminated simply out of dislike between the coupers' cabal and TSP and TRR, when their so-called 'new government' hasn't even officially withdrawn the treaties forming those embassies - it just goes to further show they have no regard for due process even as they claim to uphold it," says Aumelodia, Celestial Being, adding "though honestly I expected no less from them - they've even promoted the embassies with LWU and TWP to the top of Lazarus' embassy list. Lazarene Exiles is currently building an embassy with TSP and would accept one from TRR should they request one."
The Lazarus Free Press also reached the Rejected Realms' Foreign Affairs officer for comment, who was neither surprised nor amused by the Gang of Three's actions.
"We had been expecting this [termination] since we released our statement on Funk's coup, so we aren't really bothered," says Frattastan, "I'm sure they will keep throwing around buzzwords about our 'aggression' towards Lazarus, but in reality we are just being punished for taking a stand against someone's illegal actions."
The South Pacific delegate, Drugged Monkeys was more blunt, calling it a "joke."
"It's a desperate move by Funkadelia to try and salvage his pretend government from the epic downfall it's experiencing," says Drugged Monkeys, who went on to cite Funkadelia's declining endorsement support, while also condemning the banning of prominent Lazarene officials (eight, currently: the Celestial Being, the Archbishop of Culture, a Prelate, three Guardians, the Defender of the Realms, and the Convenor).
The Gang of Three, which has not made a public announcement on the closing of the embassies, presumably has closed the embassies as a response to the Rejected Realms and the South Pacific's opposition to their regime. Killer Kitty (also known as Evil Wolf of Lone Wolves United), one of the Gang of Three, has since accused the Rejected Realms and the South Pacific of violating their treaties with Lazarus by supporting the government-in-exile. Treaty law, however, requires both the Rejected Realms and the South Pacific respond to internal coup d'états in Lazarus: coups, like the one that been perpetrated by the Gang of Three in its illegal electioneering, routine suppression and banning of natives, and heavy-handed constitutional reorganization.
The embassies are set to close within three days.
