Indeed, bombing cities is bad, and I agree that Germany was not the only side that could do any wrong, but...Germany bombed civilians as well. Hitler tried to take-over Europe, and he rounded-up innocent Jewish people, stole their property, tortured them, and killed them, for the sole reason being that they were Jewish. Yea no, he really didn't.... He actually barely gave a crap and was just like the other megalomaniacs of his time. The Germans are well known for bombing entire cities... London bombings/air raids? The total annihilation of Rotterdam?
Next to that comes the Nazi regimes rounding up of people who they found "inconvenient" or could use to blame their own wrongdoings on, the constant in-fighting of the NSDAP, it was a complete administrative mess with constant power struggles which often led to civilian deaths and persecution.
The Nazi atrocities are beyond insane(*cough Joseph Mengele *cough*) and are barely outdone by any regime in the entire history of mankind. While the Soviets weren't kosher at all either, nor for example Mao and Pol Pot; I think the crown is definitely shared between Nazi Germany and the Empire of Japan when it comes to war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Honestly this is how dictators come to power: first appearing to do good for their population through the means of propaganda, paid actors and spreading of lies, especially when it comes to foreign policy. When they get into trouble or there are questions, that is when the true face of the regime will be shown and it is almost always (if not always) a regime of terror.
