Right. Some people may actually think your are seriously hostile, TFGO. All least mention that you are joking, especially when quoting newbies.

Oh. But no. Read the charter. Plus, it wasn't created to protect members interests like your pact, but for increased co-operation and progress. Yet, if any members is unfairly attacked, the Primes are always there, keeping vigil.
Whereas in your pact, if you attack someone, others join in. Combined pressurising tactics. Effective, but ethical ?

OOC: Well, Yeah, but they don’t have to join in. If a Pact member does something in which the others do not approve, there is no obligation of other members to join the fight. It’s okay, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

And rp again.

The Dryad had almost reach the seafloor, 260 meters deep. Elisabeth ordered to reduce the speed to less than ten knots. The attack submarine was cruising in a dangerous environment as the bay was full of old wrecks and she wasn't very eager to see how resistant the Dryad's hull was.
The sonar screens were empty and the operators weren't able to catch anything, which wasn't really comforting. Elisabeth knew very well what the Shamaris-class submarines were capable of. They were hunters, designed to track down and destroy any threat to Tsindrel-Kali, both on the surface and beneath the waves. They weren't the most stealthy submarines ever and Elisabeth was confident the Dryad could lose them if she handled it well. But the two Shamaris were armed to the teeth and in comparison she had but a water pistol. Those things had weaponry so advanced she had no idea how some of their torpedoes were actually moving.
"Ma'am !" said Myriam, surprising Elisabeth who was almost thinking out loud. "Someone's firing torpedoes !"
"Who ? At what ?"
"Not at us ! They're..." Myriam, the weapons officer, sounded more panicked than she should have been. "Something's firing torpedoes at the first Shamaris submarine, something that's a few mile ahead of us."
"The defector ?"
"It's a..." Hans typed something in the computer. "From the sound of it it's a Sparrow torpedo. Armor-piercing head, water propulsion. It matches the kind of weaponry the Kamasira could have. They're firing another one. Definitely heading for Catarina's subs."
"Hold still. Minimal speed." Elisabeth took a deep breath as the torpedo passed a few hundred meters away with a screeching sonar echo. "If the torpedo gets a lock on us we're dead. Plain and simple."

The three AIs were now four, as a satellite-based AI had just joined them.

<Shots fired. I repeat, shots fired. Deep beneath the bay. Can't say what is it.>
<I'm afraid it's the Kamasira.>
<Damnit. Anyone managed to locate and identify the unknown submarine ?>
<No. We're working on it.>
<With what exactly ? Everything we have available in either en route to the bay or on site.>
<Alright. So we have four submarines in the bay. The two Shamaris subs, Catarina's ships. The defecting Kamasira. And an unkown one, maybe Isilankian, whose captain must be wondering what the heck is going on around him. Do I get it right ?>
<Yes.>
<You're just a bunch of amateurs. How can you let a situation degenerate like that ?>
<Easy to say. You spend your entire time up here in orbit.>
<No need to argue. It's true we have a mess on our hands. But we can still make everything alright without having to...I mean no one needs to get hurt, right ?>
<Spare me this, please. We're dealing with nuclear submarines. Of course someone will get hurt. The question is merely who will take a...>
<Oh crap.>
<What ?>
<Hit. I have a torpedo hit. Someone's been hit. Someone's sinking.>
<Who ? WHO ?>

The Dryad's hull vibrated as if the ship had been shaked by a giant's hand. Elisabeth felt her heart skipping a beat, but she quickly realised that if she wasn't being crushed by a thousand tons of cold water pouring from a hull breach it meant the submarine hadn't been hit.
She reached for the headphones and started listening. The sea wasn't peaceful anymore. The echoes of a distant explosion were dying beneath the waves.
Something had been hurt, something that sounded like a tree falling down in a forest. Elisabeth closed her eyes. She knew these sounds. She knew what they meant.
Submarine hit. Hull breached. She could hear the engines trying to compensate the sudden flow of water inside the submarine, the ship desperately trying to reach the surface, she could even hear the crew frantically trying to repair the damage.
To no avail, of course. The Shamaris-class submarine had been hit in the front and it was sinking fast. Elisabeth kept the headphones until she could hear the last, desperate attempt of the engines and the crew at salvaging the submarine and, finally, the soft, suppressed sound of the dying submarine hitting the bottom of the ocean.
She stood silent for a minute.
"It almost didn't have a chance. The Kamasira made a u-turn and fired blindly. It was a matter of luck." Uttered the XO.
Elisabeth nodded.
"A U-turn right before entering a trench. The Kamasira's captain might have calculated that with a split-second accuracy. And probably on the fly. This man is good. Real good. And absolutely mad." She sighed. "How many hands aboard the Shamaris-class sub ?"
"I'd say two hundred sailors, counting the cyborgs." said the sonar operator.
"What about the second torpedo ?" asked the captain.
"Missed its target." replied Myriam, the weapons officer. "The second Shamaris dodged it. Impressive manoeuver if you ask me. I didn't know the Shamaris were that nimble."
"Techically they aren't. But Catarina likes to modify her ships. And she knows every nook and cranny of her submarine."
"You think she is aboard the surviving Shamaris ?"
"I'd bet my life on it."
"What is the Kamasira doing ?"
"It just finished its second u-turn and is heading towards the open sea, through the trench. Catarina has fired a torpedo but it has lost its target. She's now pursuing. What do we do ?"
"We stand still until they're both out of hearing range. Then we move. Out to sea. Now we're completely sure the Kamasira is out of their control."
