On deck, Kaiki listens to the captain's broadcast, his dark eyes fixated on the bright azure ocean before him. His crew stiffen as they hear the request, murmuring as the thought of being turned away goes through them.

After a second, Kaiki responds, his voice low and rasping. "We are a flottilla of city ships, requesting the ability to trade and resupply at your ports. If there are any issues, then please notify us now." The message is transmitted, and Kaiki stands, awaiting their response. Several of the crew look at him in concern, and one speaks up quietly, an officer with a navy blue uniform, and a silver barrette clipping back her black hair.

"Sir, what if the Syca turn us away? We don't have fuel supplies for a longer trip, and food is perilously low."

Kaiki doesn't turn, responding simply; "Then we'll just have to find another port. If we can't do that, well, there's not much we can do then, is there?"

The woman nods, returning to her work, as the first city ships sail into view of the Syca fleets. Their long sides lined with windows, rusted balconies, and even hanging gardens. Two logistics ships stay behind, guarded carefully by an escort of antiquated cruisers, their small caliber artillery carefully maintained, and every weapon in their mediocre disposal at the ready.
