The Parliament of Quebecshire voted to officially abolish conscription, which had existed as a policy effectively since the 1640s, however it was largely based on service in relation to the military for two years, not necessarily conventional military jobs. It has been on the books in its most recent iteration since the establishment of the Quebecshirite Administration of National Defence.
The repeal legislation was sponsored by Marianne Dorion, a member of the Parliament for the Liberal-Democrats of Quebecshire. It was passed by a margin of 325 to 143, and was signed by Speaker of the Parliament Lucien LaRochelle
