Not a police officer. They were a Federal Agent dispatched to guard a courthouse. So far, due to the lack of information, they have not been able to connect the shooting with the riots. I do however believe they're connected.

Yeah, they were dispatched because of threats to police stations and federal buildings in the area. So far his partner, who was also shot, is in the hospital last I saw.
