The Choice Between "Constitutionalism" and "Absolutism" in the Kingdom of Flatstone; Could Embracing Internationalism Mean the Fall of Tradition?
For decades now, the Stonish Government has been haunted by two questions in particular:
1. Political Freedom
Historically, all power in the Kingdom of Flatstone was possessed by two entities, and two entities only. The two in question are the Stonish government (The king,) and the local Ejoms (Saints.) There were those who had the power to draft ideas and submit propositions, however the decision to finalize those ideas is ultimately in the hands of the king.
This is relevant to the question of political freedom, because the idea of political parties operating independently of the state was prevalent in Flatstone from the 60's to the start of the 21st century, until the federal republic was ousted from power. During this time, a number of political parties existed freely and participated in Stonish politics for an extended period of time. This political freedom would be revoked following the reinstatement of the Stonish monarchy and the return of Dag Von Stone to the throne.
2. Constitutionalism; The Potential Drafting of a Stonish Constitution
The thought of a constitution is something that has been frowned upon by Stonish monarchs for centuries, for it was thought that the drafting of one would result in the loss of the kings absolute control over the country, breaking tradition and disgracing their ancestors. The question of a constitution has returned with the Stonish monarchy in 2001, and for the first time in Stonish history, a Stonish monarch has decided to tackle the issue by organizing the first ever draft of a Stonish constitution, expecting to have it finished by the end of this year.
There are those who oppose this decision, however, as long as the king holds absolute power, there is little that the kings peers can do to stop him.

Meet the Candidates: Kana Tenqel

- Kana Tenqel is leader of Kana's Empowered Citizens, which is fielding candidates for all available positions in next month's elections.
Mr. Kana is fairly affable, if not somewhat confused. The first thing he did was to check if he had his phone (he did), and throughout our interview would check his pockets for various objects.
Speaking to him, he appears to have a genuine interest in answering the questions, even if his answers are not always fulfilling.
"I don't believe in politics - as a business and job; it's a means to an end" sums up his approach. He is dismissive of the pomp that goes with being a party leader, particularly as he has no ambition to be president.
"I'm not going to be president if I can help it", he said with a cheeky smile. Mr. Kana opposes the creation of a single head of state, preferring a committee system much like that used by the Common Wealth government. "I think government works best when it is done as a collective. I think Freice's government, operating through a number of cross-party committees, would produce better and more lasting work."
Despite a new constitution coming into effect only a month ago, Kana has made no secret of his desire to re-write the rule book. Districts would, under a TPK government, have greater powers over local issues. The government would automatically allow same-sex marriage by "retreating from the world of romance", and promote economic self-sufficiency through hydroelectric power.
The TPK hopes to win a number of local authority seats, with Kana expressing confidence that he'll win the election for Mayor of Peka. In the Kivunna, Kana is equally as optimistic: "Why not? Let's see what happens - we've got good people and good policies, and a good electorate open to good ideas."
Elections will be held on 9 June.

Central Committee releases new footage of Civil War and citizen values amidst 'protests'
Today, the Central Committee have released unseen footage of the Great Anavero Civil War, with permission of The Premier, to remind 'Revolutionaries' that the ideas they believe in caused them to lose the war. The footage shows The Founder giving a speech before one of the war's biggest battles, the First Battle of Tresnistan, using gestures to capture his followers attention along with his rage to show his aggression against democracy. The following footage is The Founder leading the People's Revolutionary Front into battle, leading from the front. The rest of the footage shows The People's Revolutionary Front fiercely fighting, clearing every room and building at a time. The final part of the footage shows the People's Revolutionary Front raising their flag over the government building, signifying their victory, The Premier and The Founder raising the flag themselves. The Premier released a statement about the footage once it was released:
"This footage shows The Founder leading the People's Revolutionary Front to victory, crushing our enemy, as well as the sacrifice we made to win. The Founder and I personally raised the flag above the government building, showing that our leadership is superior to any democracy. Those who fought in the Civil War for the People's Revolutionary Front knew they would need to make sacrifices. They put their nation above themselves. There is a difference between them and the 'Revolutionaries'. The 'Revolutionaries' put democracy above their nation. Those who are loyal to me and the Central Committee put their nation above themselves. If the 'Revolutionaries' want to start a Civil War, they need to make sure they will win. They will never win. As long as both me and the Central Committee are alive, that will never happen. Democracy will never prevail in Anavero, no matter if they have foreign support."
Also included in the footage of the First Battle of Tresnistan is some key events in the battle. The Founder can been seen accompanied by The Premier and a few soldiers sneaking round an enemy position to ambush them. Another event shown in the footage is the execution of democratic supporters and captured democratic soldiers. One other key event in the battle is a team of soldiers defeating a democratic tank using only grenades and their intelligence, capturing and executing the crew that survived. The Premier has stated that the Central Committee has released the footage to inspire those loyal to them to resist and to make 'Revolutionaries' reconsider their loyalties.
The newly released 'Loyal Anaveroan Citizen Values showcases all the values that a loyal citizen should posses. One of these values is reporting any 'Revolutionary' behaviour to the ANB, Police Enforcement or any soldiers present in the nearby area. Another one of these values is having a perfect family: A wife, a husband with two sons, two daughters or one son and one daughter. The government permits a third child but permission is needed through a high amount of Anaveroan Rubles and a permission form. These are two of the values in the 'Loyal Anaveroan Citizen Values' video which has been colourised and updated for modern day since its first release was in 1986, two years after The Founder's victory in the Great Anavero Civil War. The footage shows the ideal Anaveroan lifestyle compared to a 'Revolutionary' lifestyle. The depiction of a 'Revolutionary' lifestyle is a LGBT+ family committing crimes against the government such as 'protesting', critiquing the government and being in a LGBT+ family. The depiction of a loyal and true Anaveroan lifestyle is where there is a husband who goes to work, a wife who takes care of household tasks and their children learning the true values of being Anaveroan, doing daily tasks that every other loyal and true citizen does such as saluting the pictures of The Premier and The Founder in their home, showing their support for the government and their love for The Premier. The video shows the perfect Anaveroan family living in a well cared for home, respecting those with authority and taking care in themselves, each other and their neighbours. The video also shows how to behave at school such as saluting the pictures of The Premier and The Founder, respecting each other and determined to do well to contribute to society. The video also shows those that remain loyal to The Premier and the Central Committee will be rewarded with such things as increased pay, more rations and benefits at work and in public.
The Premier on international affairs
The Premier has shown his outrage over 
Respublica Hyliana's decision to not hold diplomatic talks with Anavero. The Premier has also decided to not hold diplomatic talks with Respublica Hyliana and has also decided not to hold talks with the Trident union. The Premier has made a speech on the issue:
"It is a shame that Respublica Hyliana have chosen this option due to our treatment of our people. We choose how we want to treat our people. Their actions will not cause us to change our mind. We will not change our treatment of our people. Anavero's economy and industry are at its highest under my rule and the Central Committee's rule. Compared to us, Respublica Hyliana's so called 'democracy' is only a popularity contest to see who will win. In a democracy, the people vote for the most popular candidate and have no idea what they're doing. In Anavero, the Central Committee and I make the decisions for the people as we have their best interest at heart. We will not talk to democracies if they expect us to treat our people how they treat theirs. They will be lost without us. The Central Committee and I are the only way our nation can advance."
The Premier has stated that he and the Central Committee have agreed to take a firm stance against Respublica Hyliana and the Trident union due to both being democracies. The Premier has also stated that he intends for Anavero's 'Leap to the Future Programme' to be completed, giving the nation a technological advantage over their enemies. "The research and development of our nations next step to asserting itself as a power will take a long time to be put in effect. Once it is completed, our technology can give us a great step up over our enemy." Says the Minister of Defence. Anavero's 'Leap to the Future Programme' is only in stage one as The Premier aims wipe out all resistance for the Programme to officially begin.

Trident National Police Conduct Massive Raid on Cyber Criminals
SWASHYA - This morning, the Trident National Police announced almost fifty separate raids on various cyber criminal groups throughout the Union. With various raids and even airstrikes being conducted across the nation. "This marks a major achievement in our crime fighting," said the police director.
The Trident Union is, unfortunately, home to hundreds of cyber criminals, mostly due to the lack of regulation due to the lack of investment/attention to cyber safety. But the Trident Union "declared war" on the issue. Attacks continued despite the best efforts, climaxing at a massive attack on Dilmofdo Manafacturing Co. In the attack, the entire company was held hostage for ransom, which they eventually paid to the embarrassment of the Trident government.
But now, they have caught the massive group behind that attack, reportedly conducting an airstrike via a T7 Attack Airplane on the safe house in the Ardo countryside. While technically considered "overkill" in a sense, the threat has finally been eliminated. Aside from this one group, dozens of others have been eliminated or arrested, where they will be charged with under Trident Law. Celebrations across the Union are present, as people are glad this threat has finally ended.

Festival Held In Freice, Funded By The Faction And The Newly Formed ELAD
In recent months, the faction has grown closer in terms of relations with the Freician party led by Kana, the KTP. The ideologies surrounding the KTP have caught many interests of the faction, as well as the growing friendship between Kono Takaida and Kana Tenqel.
A small festival was held in a meeting hall of the Sema T. Anamia University of Freice, attended by hundreds of Freician students and foreign exchange students living in Freice. The festival was a small meeting organized by the ELAD, which was formed a few weeks prior. The faction also took part in funding the project and sending representatives to attend and talk to the Hoterallian community in Freice.
The festival was mostly funded by the Kana's Empowered Citizens and its affiliates, with several overseas funders like the faction, Riamese's Federal Party, and several prominent individuals. The festival includes several lectures and talks between many famous liberals across the East, especially from countries like the Empire, Riamo, and Gavrilia.
The lectures were aimed to assist the students to get to know liberalism and its goals in Eastern politics. The one-day festival ended with a party held in the dining hall, with courtesy from the Hoterallian community in Little Orajioe.
During the time of the festival, Kana Tenqel was seen walking around the festival, talking to students, and helping with the proceeding of the festival. He also took part in a lecture on Freician politics, in which, he answered several answers from students on Freician Libertarianism.
The festival comes as Kana prepares his party for elections in June - the first test for his new movement. He is running to become the Mayor of Peka, a region in the country's center. His party is optimistic about their chances to take local council seats, as well as gain representation in the country's parliament.

Election results to be revealed
Yesterday’s election went well, with a high number of voters. The government hasn’t revealed the new ministers and delegates yet, saying that the Elections Ministry is still counting the votes. The Ministry of Communications will release an article sometime today with the new government.
We interviewed voters yesterday to see who they wanted for Prime Minister. The popular opinion in Althace and Zerema was the current Prime Minister, Alma Sazorasy, with Hathla mainly voting for Haelva-born Ollis Illian. Support for Dalom Vallos, who was Alma Sazorasy’s predecessor and the Deputy Prime Minister for the past four years, has dropped greatly.
Sazorasy’s current political allies are also doing well. Ordin Olkar, the current Religion Minister, has a lot of support, despite almost being deposed recently. Foreign Affairs candidate Pirris Alkrom seems to be popular among the nation’s diplomats, so we could see a move to the Thrismari Union soon. However, not all of Sazorasy’s allies are doing well. Avarus Durum, Sazorasy’s Police ally, doesn’t have many supporters, especially after he made several racist comments in his speech a week ago.

Vaaps create "Industrial Federation" in sign of Cooperation

In what seems like a sign for cooperation between the Vaap conglomerates, an 'Industrial Federation' between multiple major Vaaps was announced this weekend by representatives of said Vaaps. Formally known as the Industrial Federation for Corporate Cooperation also as the Industrielbund in Bakyernian - the Industrial Federation will seek out for better cooperation between Vaaps and Conglomerates on issues and also to serve as a quick pipeline for business negotiations between member Vaaps. An unexpected cooperative between the corporate world of Bakyern for sure.
The Industrial Federation will serve as previously mentioned as a means for cooperation between conglomerates and for negotiations. A "corporate government", this Industrial Federation will attempt to make rules within Bakyern's corporate world according to some experts - rules made by corporations for corporations. An initiative headed by the Bolisk Multi-Holdings Group, the organisation will have multiple major Vaaps such as Hotsch Industrial Concern and the Dansar-Kannevir Corporation. Although this won't stop rivalries between corporations and what capitalism is, it'll serve as another reminder of the Bakyernian corporate world loves to kiss and fight each other at the same time.
The organisation also seems as another way to inflate the power of corporations against the Greater Government. With Ovost's less capitalistic desires when compared to his predecesors being a source of fear and concern from the corporate world. Ovost's health reforms seemed to be the last straw, as the Vaaps now attempt to prevent any further encroachment on their privatized control of Bakyern. The Greater Government has not made any statements regarding this Industrial Federation. The Bakyernian corporate world is headed down a path of uncertainty.

As the Bakyernian people remain divided by borders, Folklaakist sentiment continues to increase amongst the populace. The countries of Thodalicia and Östen-Othinia both continue to exist as ethnic Bakyernian nations outside of Bakyern. The question remains of 'When will the Bakyernian people finally be united as one?'. In recent online polls there has been a sharp increase in sentiment for unification and integration of these Bakyernian people outside of Bakyernian borders. Will this Nationalist rhetoric arrive to the high echelons of government or will it be a passing wind?

New government revealed
Late last night, the Ministry of Communications revealed the results of this year’s election. A lot of the new ministers and delegates were expected, although there have been surprises. However, the thing that everyone is talking about is an unexpected decision from the Elections Ministry. After the top two candidates for Health Minister were separated by just forty-six votes, the Elections Ministry chose to make both of them Health Minister. This has been done once before, in 1996, but it’s still unexpected.
Alma Sazorasy has been voted in as Prime Minister for a second time, winning by a huge amount. The Deputy Prime Minister is Ollis Illian, who got most of the votes from Haelva, Southern Asthearia and Hordaius. The Finance Minister is Virra Prazius, from Zerema. Dr Orrin Alri and Dr Aldre Drian share the role of Health Minister. Allon Sazorasy, the Prime Minister’s nephew, is the Zerema head delegate, and Ilid Arlon is his Althace counterpart.
Of Alma Sazorasy’s allies, two of three were voted in. Ordin Olkar won the Religion Minister election by 8%, and Pirris Alkrom is the new Foreign Affairs Minister. Avarus Durum, Sazorasy’s third ally, lost the Police Minister position to Erdin Aldus.
This morning, Alma Sazorasy made a speech in front of the Parliament building, still under construction after the recent terrorist attacks. In his speech, which was broadcast around the country, he talked about the attacks, which also left him wheelchair-bound, saying that he would do his best to prevent it from happening again. He also said that he feels ‘honoured’ to be voted in for a second time, and he’s excited to work alongside the new government. Another thing that he mentioned was that he was hopefully going to make several major law changes, including a possible move to the Thrismari Union.
Generally, the country seems happy with the election results. Alma Sazorasy was a good Prime Minister previously, and most people support him. Even the people of the South Asthearian states, who are normally annoyed with the election results, are happy to have Haelva-born Ollis Illian as Deputy Prime Minister.

It has been confirmed by medical staff at Sczesczołiszin Hospital that Speke's Foreign Minister, Serhii Viktorovich Mukhin, has been poisoned with an unknown nerve agent at around midday local time, shortly after eating either his breakfast/lunch, however he hasn't been able to confirm his whereabouts as he is currently still unconscious, however thankfully, his heart rate remains steady. Mr. Mukhin also has Type 1 Diabetes, meaning that the effect of this unknown nerve agent may be lethal to his body and his blood glucose levels need to be monitored closely. Medical staff have been instructed to take blood samples from Mr. Mukhin at regular intervals.
All government staff have been advised not to order food from restaurants or fast food places for the next 48 hours, however if they do want to at their own risk, they should not leave their food or drink unattended. The risk to the general public is incredibly low at the moment, however investigators are on high alert.

Under the direction of the Protector of the League, the Sarnatissisenar, Senalan's domestic intelligence and enforcement agency, has moved to arrest the Speaker for the Four Heavenly Serpents, the head of the dominant Four Courts faith in Senalan, following his refusal to comply with a ruling barring holders of theocratic offices from running for the position of Speaker of the League.
Though the other major candidates for office continue their campaigns, the focus of the nation has been on the tensions between the Lady Protector and the Serpent-Speaker.
The Speaker for the Serpents remains active online despite his public arrest by agents of the Sarnatissisenar in the middle of a public sermon, much to the anger of the watching crowd, who nonetheless dispersed without further conflict. He did not voluntarily submit to arrest, instead being taken in what his supporters decry as an ambush. Critics of the Speaker note that "ambushes" are typical of police operations worldwide.
"She's no better than what she's trying to prevent," claims one undecided voter. "I'm not one of those insane blokes burning people at the stake or cutting myself open on an altar, but if the people want the man in, that's the way our democracy goes. Just because Marinkes doesn't like it doesn't mean anything. Still, she's allowed to do what she did. The League has seen far worse than this, and if this emboldens her to go after the more corrupt governors and preachers we've seen, I suppose it's alright to crack a few eggs. We'll live, anyway."
"The world will end soon," claims another dismayed citizen wearing an increasingly common 'I VOTED FOR THE SNAKE-SPEAKER AND ALL I GOT WAS THIS LOUSY BUTTON... AND ETERNAL SALVATION' button. "We had one chance to be led out of the corrupt morass our society has become, and the so-called Protector ruined it for us. I'm stockpiling sweets, myself! When the Serpents come to eat us all, I'll at least have the taste of chocolate in my mouth."
Stockpiling sweets is on the more innocuous end of the myriad reactions citizens have had to the news of the Speaker's arrest. Calls for the formation of pro-Four Courts militias and the Protector's resignation have grown louder, though her actions are undeniably within the bounds of the law. In equal measure, pro-secularization demonstrations have rallied thousands in support of the Protector across the country.
Tikisur Mentiari, the head of the Terenic branch of the Secular Senalan movement and prominent supporter of progressive candidate Missinari Telussi, advocates for extreme action. "The world looks at Senalan and laughs. One of the first true democracies in Anteria, choked by one of the most regressive priesthoods in the world! We could be a force for good, as we once were - a counterbalance to the ruddy little Principate and their pact of sycophants, or the conniving states in Thuadia. To hell with the lot of them. There is one path forward: burn out the Speaker and his followers, hold elections and press onward. We will not be a second Rohyn."

Prominent Fallian separatist speaker arrested
Zander Afra, leader of the separatist faction known as Speer der Freiheit (SDF) was arrested last night outside of Falvia's Hotel Anjax, on charges of money laundering and petty theft. Afra incited multiple protests and rallies in Falia. For over a century Falia has been a Catrallian dominion, located just across the strait from Catrallia. With its Germanic majority clashing against Catrallia's Latin majority, it has long fought for independence.
Afra was denied an interview with CCN News, but SDF representatives expressed rage at his arrest. An anonymous source stated, "This shows the Catrallian government is holding on to their imperialist past and refusing to grant their last colony independence. Afra never stole, he never laundered money. The funds for this organisation came from his own pocket, and if you look at his record he has a spotless past. It's outrageous and justice must be obtained for Afra's arrest."
In Catrallia, money laundering carries a 30-year sentence, with the harshest punishment being the death penalty. SDF has expressed concerns that Afra will be executed using money laundering as an excuse. The government has denied that Afra will be executed, but a spokesperson from the Ministry of Justice stated, "Afra fronted a large money laundering operation with multiple offshore accounts and financial backers. It is a serious crime and if you check his financial history he made multiple deposits of over a million dollars over the course of a year. "

During the search for Angelina Yamori López in nearby businesses on the Aureliano Delgado Ribeiro Avenue, two unidentified bodies were found in the water reservoirs of the Real Canteriana Motel, a few miles from where the missing teen was photographed for the last time.
Authorities of the AFI and the Santa Elisa Police Department are on task to recover these bodies from said reservoirs for further identification. #AngelinaYamori is trending on Twatter GR after said discovery was announced.

After 14 days of search, authorities of the Federal Investigation Agency (AFI) and the Santa Elisa Police Department (SEPD) have confirmed that one of the two bodies found in the Real Canteriana Motel corresponds to Angelina Yamori López, who had been missing for two weeks.
In a video message, prosecutor Rogelio Fasci Medrano said that the necropsy throws that the missing teen died by a combination of drowning and a severe head contusion.
"The scientific tests carried out allow us to communicate that the body found is Angelina Yamori, the cause of her death being a combination of factors," said the official. “The water found on her lungs and a severe contusion in her skull have led us to conclude this as her cause of death.”
"At this time, no line of investigation is ruled out in this case." he added.
According to the prosecutor, the institution under his charge will use "all resources" to clarify what happened with Angelina, including the recent message by the Hoterallian National Public Safety Commission.
The body was located on the early hours of today inside a cistern, alongside another corpse. Yūsuke Yamori Parra, father of the young woman, claims to the authorities that she was found in an area that had record of past findings back when Santa Elisa was unsafe in 2010 and whose search was delayed.
Yamori’s disappearance have raised concern amongst organizations that the case of Angelina might be only the start of a “potentially dangerous tendency to the disappearance of young people and even minors”.
As of now, the second body found is still being identified by local authorities.

Hunt For Coup Leaders Getting Nowhere
Disappointing news keeps coming out of the Department for Foreign Affairs and the Prime Intelligence Division of the Medjay, or PIDM. The search for coup leaders that escaped the country in the wake of their unsuccessful attempts to wrest control of Senefpat from the Pharaoh and his democratically elected government has done nothing but intensify since the first reports of fleeing criminals. In spite of this, though, it seems that little progress is being made.
Fingers have been pointed for the last few weeks by each party against every other, though it seems to be a combined failing of intelligence services and diplomatic efforts to have countries aid Senefpat in its hunt. The Secretary for Foreign Affairs was approached for comment and he had this to say: "Contrary to popular belief, we are indeed trying to get our hands on these criminals, the most high-profile of which being the dead and buried Khonsuhotep's twat brother. Our primary issue has been getting other countries to cooperate with us and reveal whether these scum are within their borders, never mind discussing extradition to Senefpat."
Similarly, the head of the PIDM spoke to us about their organisation's difficulties in handling this issue. She said: "To say that we've invested a great many resources in this hunt would be a most honest answer. Just like anyone else in Senefpat, we want these lot locked up and awaiting execution for their crimes. However, locating them has been a nightmare, and it is obvious to us that they are being sheltered by other Anterian countries. Their cooperation would be appreciated, lest we start infiltrating governments en masse."
