I have no idea why that happens, I click post, a few minutes later look at my post, and see I just posted the post again?

That's likely because you're refreshing the "post" page which reloads everything, including your sending the post onto the site. The RMB acts like any other forum so those old cryptic rules still apply.

Edit: The URL looks like this

page=lodgermbpost/region=the_western_isles

So…is there a way to stop that from happening?

When you make a post you'll see a page that has a hyperlink that says "View your post", either click that or click your nation name in the top left corner (or really any of the links in the top row or sidebar on the left other than logout) to leave that page.

Hello, nice to meet you.
I love roleplaying, however, there's a limit since I am not proficient enough to writing in English. I am learning still!
My nation is Feluca, and I have no idea yet where I would bring this, especially for the political and historical.
For sure, it would mimic the Portuguese as I have been in love with Portuguese culture including their architecture.
I'm not a big fan of war, but I love the idea of naval exploration and trade.
Hope I could be active as much as I can.

Is it ok if my nation is from an alternate reality in a book?

Andromeda kingdom wrote:Is it ok if my nation is from an alternate reality in a book?

I don't believe this is possible as this region is very inspired by real life it takes place in an earth like world, so the answer would be no.

Dormill and Stiura wrote:[detailed, helpful critique]

TBH, I'd like to hope Isterberg reads my comments, comes up with some answers, and then chooses suitable weapons, or asks somebody for help with the questions of national strategy, missions, and weapons. Either way, I expected whatever's there now would be replaced before it matters IC.

Dormill and Stiura wrote:In general for your military equipment, unless you have a very clear idea of what equipment looks like in your head, I'd recommend adapting from RL sources instead of coming up with those stats entirely from scratch.

I tend to be a bit more cautious about homebrew aircraft, because designing realistic planes is a hard problem, requiring understanding why planes work the way they do. Ships and ground vehicles are a lot easier to modify/estimate.

I'd rather people work from existing aircraft if possible. I think some people in the region work from concept studies, engineering studies, and abandoned RL projects as well. I like that, since that gets a greater variety of reasonable aircraft into the region.

In history before 1900, yes if you so deign to interact with Earth at that time.

Is 1900 the official cut-off? I thought it was earlier, like 1800.

Andromeda kingdom wrote:Is it ok if my nation is from an alternate reality in a book?

Could you tell us more about your nation, to help us decide?

Ioudaia wrote:Is 1900 the official cut-off? I thought it was earlier, like 1800.

The advice has been normally to cut post-1945 but the earlier the better. The absolute latest I recommend is 1900.

Rehaajl
"Rehaajl has about 2.82 Billion people living in it. About 47% of the land does not have more then 20000 living in it. Most of the population is living in the central part of the main island. Iledja is located on the Eastern part of Rehaajl and is the capital of the nation."

You can't have 2.82 billion people. For one, it's unrealistic. For two, you need SORP permission to exceed 30,000,000

absolute latest that is advised is 1980s, if youre wanting soviet aesthetic... otherwise, cut pre-ww2 i'd say

looks like we have an IC land mine in Lesva (or more accurately what his people are doing in my country) if anyone wants to go a bit closer and observe it

The history of Ahnslen National Parks and the Agency that manages them.

where is TWI located in the world

Nhoor wrote:The history of Ahnslen National Parks and the Agency that manages them.

I’ve dabbled in that area, but haven’t jumped in it fully quite yet - though I should, thank you for the suggestion.

Isterberg wrote:where is TWI located in the world

Nowhere and everywhere.

TWI is technically separate from Earth and interactions with RL countries are frowned upon if it is any later than the colonial era. However, you can have interactions with RL countries during and before the colonial era, if I am not mistaken.

I think we need to make a FAQ section to our newcomer's factbook, adding this to it.

There’s been talk recently of a centralised factbook for rules and recommendations - if there’s support for it from non-government folks, it’d likely be added to someone’s responsibilities in the twi government

I'd support it. I also think that an easily accessible FAQ in the welcome factbook would be a good idea.

Also, tropical folks take note of this that I’ve found:

“The proportion of employment in biomass is significantly greater in [an area in the subtropics and tropics] (42 percent), where the sugar industry makes great use of sugar cane to generate electricity for sugar milling and to feed into the grid.”

> good for sugar
> good for ethanol

If you’ve got sugarcane, you have options to make a nice big industry. My understanding is that this is a gap in the TWI economy at the moment too, so an opportunity for some of you!

Most importantly, it is used to make Rum.
The stalks after the juice is removed are used as cattle feed.

I'm in favor. I've been here over a year, and I'm still not sure I know the rules/recommendations.

The continuing discussion about the RL intrusion cut-off suggests there's no rule, and only a very loose consensus among the players about when it is. Perhaps setting up a poll for that would be helpful in finding the "right" date range, which could then be put in the FAQ.
