Virelia Foreign Affairs
The Diplomatic Affairs Ministry officially the Ministry of Diplomatic Affairs and Overseas Virelia Administration also called Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a ministry of the Government responsible for(as defined in the Diplomatic Affairs Act)
a)Managing Virelia's diplomatic missions and consulates.
b) Conduct external relations on behalf of the Commonwealth.
c) Negotiate treaties, agreements, and diplomatic arrangements.
d) Maintain records of diplomatic engagements and embassies.
e) Advise the Executive and Assembly on foreign affairs.
Basically, The Ministry's duty is to manage embassies, maintain relations with other regions, managing treaties and agreements, etc. It is led by South waldorff
Embassies and Diplomatic Missions are the Virelian government offices in another region or another region having an embassy in Virelia. Some would normally expect us to have an embassy policy but we actually don't with the exception for:
- Fascist in ideology, governance or affiliation.
- Raider in practice or affiliation.
- If the Regional Assembly determines the region has no significance or is beneficial towards the Commonwealth, then the possibility of establishment of an embassy and such a region will be rendered null and void and thus, rejected with immediate effect
Yes, within 24-48 hours of us receiving an invitation from such regions, we will automatically reject it unless with:
- A strategic necessity is declared by the Ministry of Diplomatic Affairs.
- A two-thirds majority vote is secured in the Regional Assembly.
- A temporary diplomatic waiver is issued, subject to quarterly review.
- Is a fellow member and/or signatory of organizations and/ or treaties in which the Commonwealth is a member of and/or participant of and/or signatory to after ratification by the Regional Assembly
But most of the time, the invitation will be rejected.

The Commonwealth of Virelia and The Hills Of Terrae,
hereinafter referred to as “the Parties”,
Recognizing their shared commitment to regional stability, peaceful coexistence, and mutual respect,
Affirming the principles of diplomacy, cooperation, and the rule of law within the NationStates community,
Acknowledging their common strategic interests in security, intelligence, development, and regional engagement,
Desiring to strengthen friendly relations and establish a durable framework for collaboration,
Have agreed as follows:
ARTICLE I: PURPOSE AND PRINCIPLES
a) The purpose of this Treaty is to promote peaceful relations, diplomatic cooperation, and strategic coordination between the Parties.
b) The Parties affirm mutual respect for sovereignty, independence, and internal governance.
c) Cooperation under this Treaty shall be conducted in good faith and in accordance with international norms.
ARTICLE II: DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS
a) The Parties shall maintain open and continuous diplomatic communication.
b) Each Party shall designate official diplomatic representatives or channels to facilitate dialogue.
c) Diplomatic disputes shall be resolved through consultation, negotiation, and peaceful means.
ARTICLE III: STRATEGIC COOPERATION
a) The Parties shall cooperate on matters of common strategic interest, including regional stability and security awareness.
b) Such cooperation may include policy coordination, advisory support, and joint strategic discussions.
c) Cooperation under this Article shall remain defensive, non-aggressive, and voluntary.
ARTICLE IV: INTELLIGENCE AND INFORMATION SHARING
a) The Parties may share non-sensitive intelligence and assessments relevant to mutual security interests.
b) Any intelligence shared shall be treated as confidential unless otherwise agreed.
c) Intelligence cooperation shall respect each Party’s laws and constitutional frameworks.
ARTICLE V: MUTUAL CONSULTATION
a) In the event of a regional crisis or security concern affecting either Party, consultations shall be initiated promptly.
b) Consultations may include strategic assessments, diplomatic coordination, or advisory support.
c) This Article does not obligate either Party to automatic intervention.
ARTICLE VI: ECONOMIC AND DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION
a) The Parties may explore opportunities for cooperation in development, trade, or capacity-building initiatives.
b) Such cooperation shall be conducted on mutually agreed terms and with respect for sovereignty.
c) No obligation to provide material assistance is created unless expressly agreed.
ARTICLE VII: NON-HOSTILITY AND GOOD FAITH
a) The Parties shall refrain from hostile actions, propaganda, or interference against one another.
b) Neither Party shall support actions intended to undermine the sovereignty or stability of the other.
c) This Treaty is founded on trust, transparency, and mutual benefit.
ARTICLE VIII: AMENDMENTS
a) This Treaty may be amended by mutual written consent of the Parties.
b) Amendments shall enter into force upon confirmation by both Parties’ competent authorities.
ARTICLE IX: DURATION AND TERMINATION
a) This Treaty shall enter into force upon signature by both Parties.
b) The Treaty shall remain in force indefinitely unless terminated by either Party with notice.
c) Termination shall not affect obligations incurred prior to termination.
ARTICLE X: FINAL PROVISIONS
a) Nothing in this Treaty shall be construed as forming a military alliance or obligating offensive action.
b) This Treaty shall be interpreted in a manner consistent with each Party’s constitutional and legal order.
c) The authentic texts of this Treaty are equally valid.
