It's a message board, not instant messaging comrade. Not too long ago we'd go a few days without a post, it's not that big of a deal.

Yeah

I felt the same way comrade, but I too was quickly swamped with school and the sorts

I hate the fact that I hate school. School is a place of knowledge and learning new things and having opportunities to make something of yourself later in your life. And after you pass, you go to college, which I've heard is twice as difficult.

I don't understand my American education system anymore. It's supposed to be an equal opportunity for everyone, but usually only the rich get in easy and the rest of us have to struggle to even get in. I sympathise with my parents so much because they are saving so much money and sacrificing so many things in their lives for me. I'm grateful, but I feel like I don't even deserve it all.

Erm, anyway, back to the subject at hand. The American education system needs to be reformed. Grades should not be compared to the intelligence of a student. There needs to be a HUGE reform in this system. And more funding. Also, there needs to be government support for students of more poverty-stricken families. We all should have an equal opportunity damn it!

Personally, I'd prefer Higher Education to be paid for by the government. I consider all levels of education a right, not a privilege. Actually, same with healthcare. Pretty much, I'd prefer if America was more Communist, and think of it as an ideal, economically. Huh. Go figure. :p
Also, I don't know how I'll pay for the later two years of college. Actually, I'm lucky that my biological dad was in the navy, so the first year or so is covered, but that's it. :I
Anyway, my parents don't even have the money to save for me. My mom says we're "lower-middle class," but I've done a lot of research over the years, and seeing the living conditions I've been in, I can say that for the first half of my life, I was poor. Like, dirt f-ing poor. The first 5 years of my life, my mom and I lived in a sh***y, roach-infested "apartment" (I use this term loosely, as it was closer to a tar paper shack) that should have been condemned before we even moved in. Needless to say, I don't have many memories of it, and what I do remember, I hate. If given the choice now, I'd prefer to live in an alley in a tent. At least the tent wouldn't have roaches. The next chunk of my life, my mom and I had to live with my grandparents, because we couldn't afford a house. After that, we eventually moved to a duplex (though a rather crappy one), and I can say that this is the point where I moved up a slight bit to "working-class." After that, my mom remarried to my step dad, and we moved to Pennsylvania, to a slightly better apartment. We still only barely made ends meet. Barely. After a while, my mom and step dad got a divorce, and I moved to college (I'm currently a freshman). My mom has recently moved to a tiny apartment that in whole is smaller than my dorm room, and my step dad has moved somewhere not much larger. Thus, I still identify myself as Working-Class.

Seeing my background, it is far from surprising why I'm a Communist.

in us you have to pay about everything, those that can pay can get what they want
here we have free universities but this will be past if these people keep ruling our land

In Klotecnia, all schools are state-owned.

Schools are free and are funded by the Klotecnian government. The Klotecnian Curriculum is based on Mirkovism, the Klotecnian form of communism. Students learn the principles of Mirkovist theories made by the Great Comrade (or the First Supreme Leader of Klotecnia) Koyenev Mirkov as well as Communism (and/or Socialism. They are also to study the book Communist Manifesto.

Mirkovism are the Klotecnians principles of collectivization, a command economy, totalitarianism and nationalism.

Klotecnia is a secular state and the government supports secularism. Churches, mosques and any other place of worship are allowed as long as the Government Property Authority (GPA) is notified.

The Klotecnian government along with the Islamic Association of Klotecnia (IAK) is on a joint-construction project of a mosque located in Mesdanoykh, Iklonentov. It is planned to be named " The Saphszontdkh Mosque".

We request the Salehdinezan to help us construct the Saphszontdkh mosque as Salehdinezan has a predominately muslim population.

This is to promote multiculturalism and secularism.

May peace be upon you, Salehdinezan.

Despite the fact that some kids have parents that are constantly in the clouds on meth and heroine and need their friends' homes and school to get away from them, higher education can be achieved by working hard in school. If you want to go to college, in high school you have to work harder and get good grades, thus you get scholarships. Then, you want to choose a cheap college that your scholarships will cover. By cheap college, I don't mean one that won't even look good on a resume, just a nearby university or even a known community college. Obviously, if you have an intellectual disability you can't really get good grades, but if you can't make As or Bs in a lower-level class, while trying to work hard, you need to be signed up for special ed, and they have scholarships for that.

Aswell, my state of Tennessee automatically pays for 2 years of college for every child as long as the student maintains high grades (a certain GPA I believe, but I've forgotten what they require) even in it's common right-wing ideology. It might also only be applicable if they go to a Tennessean college, but I know for a fact that you have to go to a community college, which like I said if you choose a known one and stay in that area it won't be so bad. Either way, still having an Associates degree is better than just having a highschool diploma.

The education system in the UK is different, we have:
Primary Schools (ages 4-11) which are compulsory and free
Secondary Schools (ages 11-16) which are compulsory and free, at the end of this you get GCSE's (General Certificate of Secondary Education) which you need Maths and English for effectively every job
College (ages 16-19) which are free and compulsory (unless you get an apprenticeship) where you can get more GCSE's, A-Levels and some other stuff
University which are not free (unless you live in Scotland, where the state pays for your first year or degree) or compulsory, but University degrees are required for most decent UK jobs.

I myself need to go to university to get the qualifications for the job I wish to do (Teaching) but I will have to take out a student loan to pay for it, and I'll be paying that off for a long damn time. I think all education should be free, but due to capitalism it is not.

On the subject of Scotland, where do you stand on the independence vote coming up?

Better together. United we can defeat the bourgeoisie, or at least the conservative party, divided we can not. Anyway it never seems like a good idea to base your economy on a finite resource that is going to run out in 30 years or less.

Besides, they won't be free anyways...

The US will invade them because they are tyrants and have WMDs (oil).

New terricon wrote:On the subject of Scotland, where do you stand on the independence vote coming up?

The British government did promise Scotland that if the 'Better Together' or the 'No' vote won, Scotland would be given more autonomy.

And plus, the economic prices will rise should Scotland gain independence. So that's why many banks moved their headquarters to London.

Especially the Welsh. They did some messed up stuff to them throughout history, and I think they deserve their independence.

It doesn't. Scotland has a good amount of autonomy anyway. It was a political union that formed the UK not an invasion. Well, Scotland and England invaded each other many time beforehand but still.
