I'm happy for you, girl. Are you going to their victory parade I heard about?

Sophie Devereaux wrote:I guess that Cleveland will have the wait for next year to break their dry spell.

I suppose. Who knows when that chance will come again.

I'm also considering getting two different things: carbonated grape juice for if Hillary wins...or yeast to use with my normal grape juice if the orange one takes it.

I, in my right mind, can't support either candidate. I dislike both vehemently. Perhaps it's time to ROTC.

Have you tried Google? I hear that it can be quite informative. lol Actually, they're one of the Chicago baseball teams.

Ah, the good old days of student activism. *remembers fondly*

No, I can't because I need to work and I'm not anywhere near the city.

Good one, Soph.

Seriously? It takes less than a minute to search and get an answer.

That is awful, Cast. Halloween is supposed to be fun and not confrontational. I absolutely hate drunks. They're obnoxious and belligerent for the most parts.

Tiltpa wrote:Butts. Are you both in stable physical condition at this time?

We are both alright :)

*sighs* but now I am having a payment dispute with the company, as they say I only worked 3 days when I have evidence that I worked 5 days.

Anyways I hope everyone had a happy halloween :)

I voted early and spent the last week in Disneyworld ignoring all news. I wish I'd stayed through Election Day.

Disney World? I'm jealous. I mean, I'm lucky in the sense that I'm 16 and already at a uni full-time, but on the other hand, I'm 16 and at a uni full-time. issss WORK.

What a beautiful weekend. We went camping and hiking. :D

We did. You could take your case to your State's Labor Relations Board if the company does not agree to pay you.

I ignored the whole Zombie thing.

Really? There is another girl in the game that I know who started Uni when she was 16. It's Lady Jane Grey. Her nation here is Lady Irene Adler. She has a PhD in something to do with Libraries.

At Rabbit: Indeed, this is the case.
I take the time to note that writing things around the campus in chalk is commonplace, and as the USA Election Day crept closer, chalk graffiti was laid in reference to Trump, defaced by Hillary proponents, and washed away.
Now there's some far more cool-looking pro-Hillary graffiti, but defacing is underway.
An instance I'm particularly peeved by is someone defacing "PRO-BLACK ISN'T ANTI-WHITE" by crossing out the N'T. Some %$&^ing people.

Unfortunately bigotry is prevalent everywhere. You would think that Uni would be immune to this disease, but even Uni houses closed minds.

*wakes up* Morbius *goes back to sleep*

Well, today is Election Day, and for better or worse, we'll have a new president. For me, I hope that this spells the end of all the mud slinging for awhile. This election cycle has made me very sick of politicians and politics in general.

Too true. Why can't we just accept everybody by who and what they areas individuals and not just by race, religion, or ethnicity. :(

If theser two candidates are the best that we can do, I pithy this country. :(

I am so disgusted that I am not voting.

It's not that. It's just that my paycheck is mysteriously half of what it is supposed to be.

Ugh today is election day. I'm very angry at who ended up being the nominees, but I still voted.

Has management said anything about your complaint?

I voted for the Crook/Kook of my choice, but I really didn't care.

The United States of America is officially [d]ucked.

I personally believe that the other candidate would just be the same.

The Velvetine Rabbit wrote:I voted for the Crook/Kook of my choice, but I really didn't care.

An apt discription, but I abstained from voting.

Tiltpa wrote:The United States of America is officially [d]ucked.

Yes.

Allison Road wrote:I personally believe that the other candidate would just be the same.

Too true.

....I shake my head at thee.

Clinton did not support people being kept out of the country simply because of their religion.
Clinton did not support people being deported from this country because the system meant to allow them to stay is poorly structured and horribly backlogged.
Clinton was distinctly against the notion of "therapy" for LGBTQIA+ individuals which conditions them to repress their true sexuality/gender.
The notion of Clinton being elected did not drive any of my friends to consider suicide.

You guys (those not in the USA excluded) could have voted. I couldn't, because I'm still [d]ucking 16. Because so many people like you abstained from voting, people are going to die.

You are allowed to hold your opinions. You are allowed to defend your actions. But I am allowed to vocally object to these actions that you have taken in your lives. This has left a mess that I and my generation will have to clean up. I plan to, of course. But this didn't help. At all.

I voted.

We are all screwed. Lets hope the orange man loses in 2020.

....I am not taking this [crap] lying down. I can't.

If I have anything to do about it, there will be a revolution in this decade. I promise y'all.

Sophie Devereaux wrote:I am so disgusted that I am not voting.

I see your reasoning but I would like you to consider this: If you do not vote, aren't you just giving in to what you are protesting. There are definitely far more than two candidates. I'm cannot even vote myself, I'm too young to do so. What I do know, however, is that not voting is neglecting your responsibility. Surely you don't disagree with every single person who is running. Take the libertarians, for example. Let's be honest, there was no chance in a million they would've one the election. They didn't need to win, though. They needed to grow. If I remember correctly, they got around 3% of the vote. I believe 5% is needed for them to become an "official party" and receive funding and participate in more debates. They don't need to win to see change happen, they just need to be seen. The same goes for the Greens. Very small and they don't have the funding nor the opportunities to present a candidate that has the potential to win. All it takes is the voters voting for what matters to them, instead of who or what they think has a better chance of winning. Its the lack of trust that the voters have in the system that leads to dissatisfaction.

At the same time, I do see issues with our system. With the dawn of the media and constant barrage of others' opinions, politics is very different today. People vote for the personality of a person, not their qualities or beliefs. I'd bet there was less on policies during this election than there was yelling and ranting about the negative qualities of the other candidate.

There was one thing that really made me mad: when the candidates wouldn't shake hands at the debate. That's a sign that something is wrong. Politics has gotten too personal; people see a person's differences before they see the actual person. I'll be quite honest, I dislike Trump a lot. His methods aren't right and his views are all over the place. He isn't the person I'd want to be in charge of my country's image. At the same time, he's human and he fights for his own views and I respect that. I don't agree with what he says and does but I respect him for what he does. He is the president, after all. We've gotten such an image from the media's opinions that we forget who we're talking about. At the end of the day, agree or not, we should respect everyone and their views. If we disagree, we present our own and support them, focusing entirely on promoting ours instead of slandering the oppositions.

At the end of the day (and this rant), I think of it this way: if we see something that we disagree with but we don't present a better option, there is no better option. If we meet someone with different ideas, we acknowledge theirs and show them our own. If someone we disagree with defeats us, we owe them respect. In fact, we owe everyone our respect. It is only when all sides, all people, respect each other that we can have the government we want and the leaders we want to be perfectly successful. That is what it takes for our system to work. Because of that, I will support our president, whoever it is, with whatever small voice I have. If I see something I disagree with, I will hear that other side with an unbiased ear and then present my own views. If that's what it takes, then that's what needs to happen.
