Welcome home.

So, I can see that we're all very excited for the regional officers thing

El jefe has spoken, offices for everyone!

Duty called in Warhammer 40000, but we are back now. Sub-Sector Governor Beinir of the Beinirham is currently in our custody. His case is not severe and was caught early, so this is partially a preventative measure due to his value and we are optimistic he will be saved. He is currently occupied with treatment in the rack, but as he recovers arrangements will be made for him to conduct business here under our observation before returning to his own region. Technically, BRU MkI is a protectorate of Beinirham, so participation in regional administration ultimately falls under his discretion.

YeEEess?! 8D... Does this void of whip crackers have you in the doldrums? How can a region be happy if it cannot serve with a full heart? Don't worry, I've got just the thing:

*Sticks a flag in* All hail the God-Emperor! It is new age for the Lexicon. Bring forth your national tithes and consolidate them to your delegate to be allocated for the good of the region and the Imperium. Resistance and bystanders will be purged. These are your terms for surr... *Shock collar/ coughing*

Err, I mean, beautiful day in the Lexicon, there may still be lingering remnants of the sexiest region yet. The region's a lot quieter and off the map than it was then, has been for a while, and I think we're generally comfortable with that. Besides, attempting some kind of revival would generally take more energy than getting of the couch to find the clicker, and might only be short lived like that last attempt, so it doesn't really pass our cost-benefits analysis to merit breaking from complacency. Still, if you have something in mind for granting powers to shake things up a bit, I currently have an extra bit of free time to pitch in to getting something rolling and would be interested to hear what you have in mind. I have an idea of my own and certain controls I might like to get my hands on.

And I almost ceased to exist again. It is hard to stay in the game these days.

The apoc emails tend to help, although sometimes they get buried and then its too late. Vacation mode roughly doubles the period you can lurk in the shadows before lifting a finger again. But that would probably mean waiting twice as long until you'd come back.

I have the game saved in my new tab favorites thing. It makes it easy to pop in every other day to choose some stuff.

The main problem is that NS is just too basic of a game. I'm very pleased that it's run as long as it has, but it needs something, ANYTHING, to get the creativity flowing again. For example, we've only seen one of those multi choice sagas. More of those, along with more events would bring me back here much more often.

Yeah, and maybe in addition to random/calculation dispensed issues it would be nice to have the ability to focus on our own agendas with have some kinda voluntary or preferred issue that allows nations to go on the offensive about their business or at least set a preference of things to focus on for a percentage of their issues.

Line graphs for the economy and causes of death would be nice too. I think there is a variant of NSDossier which had/has this, but not sure if it is running as parts of the site stopped working after the rejigeration. For a better idea of progress, I've been periodically recording metrics for Beinirham myself.

Yeah, it is awfully easy to let a bunch of time sneak by, and, next thing you know, you are CTE.

The virus is back, and our past efforts to cure the citizens may have contributed to a super bug. Nurgles' forces of decay must be exterminated.

NS really needs to send out an email letting people know when these kinds of things are going to start.

It goes straight to spam, and because of my job I get hundreds of emails every day. Easy to miss it.

Checking my library ...
A Tailless of Two Corgis
The Moon is a Harsh Corgi
From Corgi to Eternity
A Farewell to Corgis
The Lord of the Corgi: the Fellowship of the Corgi
LotC: The Two Corgis
LotC: The Return of the Corgi

I recently finished Sharpe's Corgi. Every book in the series is called Sharpe's Corgi or Sharpe's Corgis, so I'm not sure which one comes next.

I know that feeling.
I just pick one at random and start reading from the back.

Is Wilkshire still around?

Ayup. Check the forum.

Yes :-)

The new box for the telly comes with a guide channel remote with a voice search button. Uh... Moo?

Ah... I remember the good old days before remotes existed (and we only had 3 channels to choose from here in the UK!)

Same here in Canada. I was the remote for a period of time. XD

With the antenna in the attic last week, there were about 6-7 channels, but half were worth choosing from, the other half came in without breaking up as much, and it didn't work very well in the wind. Also despite multiple universal remotes lying about, the only one that's programmed is usually kept under a couch or in the next room or somewhere like that.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas! :-)
